The lady at the front desk was lovely and the waxing room was clean and quite nice looking inside. I booked with Alicia, and she was incredibly fast, professional, and so kind throughout the entire appointment. I was extremely nervous going in, but she made me feel comfortable almost immediately. I told her that I was mid-breast cancer treatment and less than two weeks away from my next surgery and that I couldn't lay completely flat on my chest. She absolutely made it work and was super accommodating. No chest pain whatsoever because she made sure I never had to be on my front. I actually found Alicia on Facebook when looking for waxers online and thought she had such a trustworthy face and calming presence -- and I was absolutely right. She made the whole experience so much easier than I expected. I told her that I'd had my legs waxed 5 times perviously, but had once chickened out on a Brazilian. So she said "we're starting there first", and got right to business. I expected extreme pain, but it was actually totally manageable. I believe Alicia's technique and quickness made for a much less painful ordeal, and for that, I'm very thankful. She was a pleasant conversationalist, which helped A LOT to keep me calm. I couldn't be happier with my results. I most definitely feel so clean and more myself after this session. I've already booked my next wax, and I'm actually looking forward to maintaining a regular waxing schedule in order to stop shaving so often and damaging my skin. If you're nervous or trying waxing for the first time, Alicia is definitely the person to see. She is amazing at what she does and honestly deserves a raise! European Wax Center seems to have reasonable pricing and packages/deals too. I highly recommend giving this place a try. Fresh sticks with each dip, pre and post wax care, and no fabric strips! Tip: It's on the north side after you turn west on 25th, it's like the second or third business. I went in and was greeted by the lady I spoke to on the phone, whom I found out is named Ashley. It was a bit on the small side, but I've always thought less it more sometimes when it comes to salons and I liked the look of the place. Ashley seemed to be the only one working, but since I was also the only customer at the time, I quite enjoyed the feeling of privacy. Ashley led me into the back waxing room and asked me what I was looking for when it came to my eyebrows. I told her that I wasn't too picky, I just needed them shaped. She agreed that they weren't completely out of control and she would do her best to make them look nice. Ashley took a little longer then most estheticians do and that made me nervous, especially considering she just agreed I didn't need much waxing. Boy, was I in for a surprise when I saw the greatest eyebrows I've ever had. All my anxiety flew out the window when I looked into the handheld mirror and saw perfection in an eyebrow. I'm so glad that she took the extra time because this was the one and only instance where I didn't have to go home right away and correct any strays the esthetician left. I was so elated! Of course, the underarm waxing went very smooth as well and I was very happy with the results. It was practically painless and I left with a feeling of complete bliss in knowing that the work was done right and I wouldn't have to worry that night about any mistakes I may not have noticed right away. Ashley was also very sweet and we ended up having a great conversation while I was there. It didn't feel forced or overdone, just the right amount of talk to get through the appointment smoothly. I have gotten my eyebrows waxed since then and still haven't had the amazing eyebrows that I left with that afternoon. She's quick and efficient while being thorough which is precisely what you want when someone is ripping hair from your body. No explanation, not grinding them off men that I would have bending backwards nails that I can't work with. I explained that I needed to have my nails done next week for a wedding.. they said that's fine and then by the end of taking my nails off I said wow my nails are extremely thin how am I gonna put another set on this and now the answer changed to I cannot get my nails done again until they are completely grown out in 3 to 6 months... David done my pedicure and manicure and was absolutely AMAZING the entire way through.
