Huge amount of of expired food products. You really have to search for anything edible

I drove 3 hours and it was worth it. I had a cart full and spent $120. Its hit and miss but so worth it for the cost of some items.

It feels somewhat ironic to leave a review for a business that will almost surely never read it. That said this place deserves some attention for what they're doing. When you visit you are greeted by a cacophony of different products. About 2/3 of what they sell is excess and discarded inventory from other sellers. I'm not exactly sure how they get their inventory but it's clear that there is care taken in stocking it and trying to make it look presentable. Some items are expired, others are in packaging of questionable condition, but all of it is safe and reasonably priced. The other third of the store is dedicated to products from the Amish community. I purchased a small bag of granola and found it to be wonderful. Their baking and cooking supplies were all wonderful and cheap. The staff are friendly if you approach them but they tend to keep to themselves otherwise. Sometimes they will stare at you, but it's more out of curiosity than any sense of superiority. A very pleasant re claimed grocery store, ran by the Amish. this store is an "assest to the community" as you can save money. if you spend a "hundred, you have SAVED at least $75 dollars"... please note there are no "homemade desserts or breads sold here, or fresh meat counter". They do however have frozen meats, chicken, fish, frozen dinners, bacons, lunch meat, smoked sausages, hot dogs...name brandsbreakfast sausage, baking goods and seasoning and spices...DRY GOODS, pasta, rice, cake mixes, candy, breads, hot dog buns, burger buns, chips, canned goods, soup mixes, cereals,salad dressings, mayo, oil, etc.They have DOG and Cat foods(not all, just some) Bird seed, Household cleaners) EVERY day is "different". You have to "look"...Store is very NEAT and organized I highly suggest it if you are wanting to save yourself some money.We go once a month and worth the drive. read more

We have enjoyed shopping at Pineview. The food selection is very good and the prices are as well. We have three cats and three litter boxes so we go through a lot of kitty litter. They sell 40# bags of scoopable for under $8. You can't beat that. Also check the cooler for great deals on pies. Most meats are frozen in coolers. Lots of semi prepared food also. Fruits, vegetables also there. We drive a ways to get there but it's worth it and a nice scenic country drive. Also close to Ebels! read more

Pineview is owned and operated by a single Amish family. Although the Amish traditionally avoid the use of electricity, the store itself is fully functional via the use of a generator. As such, the business owners are able to accept all major credit cards, maintain refrigeration and function as any normal store would. You'll find that Pineview sells a wide variety of items. It's a great resource for bulk foods like grains, spices, baking ingredients, beans, etc.., making it an excellent resource for large families. While Pineview is primarily a grocery store, there's also a fairly diverse selection of kitchen items - from small gadgets to canning supplies and durable pots and pans. They carry a variety of personal care products as well - many of which are name brands at significantly discounted prices. I would suggest checking the expiration date however, if that is something of significance to you. (Since the store sells a great deal of overstocked goods, they also sell some outdated items.) Of course the selection of fresh, refrigerated and non-perishable food is plentiful. Don't forget to keep your eyes open for some amazing Amish baked goods. They're all fabulous. I could never list all of the miscellaneous items you'll see along the aisles of Pineview. You just have to visit! Overall, I really like the store's mix of discounted natural, homemade and homesteading products. I think it's an excellent resource for the surrounding rural community and I love supporting small businesses. I've deducted one star only because I dislike the idea of buying outdated products, so it's time consuming to ensure the items you're buying are current. I also wish the store shelves were more organized and I would like to see fewer processed foods. There's no doubt that I'll visit again though and I will most definitely recommend it to those in the area. read more

Great little Amish Country store that is a pleasure to shop. Prices are reasonable and quality of food is excellent. Some foods are past "best by" dates, but that really does not matter( if you do your homework )and understand that "best By" doesn't mean the product is not good on expiration. Frozen Nathan's hot dogs were .99 each. Average retail is 4.99 for fresh non frozen hot dogs. Best kept secret and we drive an hour and 10 minutes each way to shop there. So, I visited this store earlier in the year, and while I was pleased with my purchases, the customer service left a lot to be desired. This store is in a very rural area in Northern Michigan. My aunt lives in the area, so when my mother and I visited her, she took us there. My aunt has lived in that community for almost 40 years, and she is white, along with the rest of the town. My mother and I are not. While no one said anything rude to us, we were stared at for prolonged periods of time, not only by other customers but by staff as well. When it was time to check out, the cashier did not greet us. He scanned our items quickly, tossed them into a bag, and then once my credit card payment was processed, he practically threw a pen at me to sign the receipt. There was no "Thank You" or "Have a Nice Day". Basically, all they wanted was my money, and then for us to get out. read more

Not much to say, typical discount food store, but the prices are way better they do sell some bulk and amish meats also.

Bargains? Yes ALTHOUGH, nearly everything sold here is Out of Date product. Therefore, you may end up with stale or possibly dangerous food products. There are many great prices but again, as stated, usually the labels are Out of Date or the items have been repackaged and their store label has been affixed. Be advised, their store receipts do not reflect the exact item purchased, products are catogorized by department or such that its impossible to clearly recognize what item was purchased. So if a consumer ever needs to know a price paid for a particular which or needs proof of purchase for a particular product, then GOOD LUCK. Beware: Think First before you buy read more

Great little store! "Best If Sold By Dates" don't bother me! Interesting place to shop!

Repeated visits makes me want to go there more! Such a large store compared to other Amish markets in Northern Michigan. Just around the corner ( a couple of miles) from an awesome meat market (Ebel's in Falmouth, MI). You have to go to both if your are in the area.
