As a daughter who loves her mother more than anything in this world, my heart was broken when I was told years ago that she would not be able to live here. I prayed harder than I had ever prayed for anything in my life that she would be able to live in a place that was bright, clean, and comfortable. Fairfield Post Acute Rehab has been that place for me and my family, and for my mother, for several years. I am beyond grateful for their caring and competent staff. When covid hit I knew that I wouldn't be able to see mom in person for a while (I usually made the trip twice per year), but I was able to call at any time and talk to someone who would let me know how mom was doing. As soon as possible the staff updates families about the status of the facility after someone tests positive. Additionally, whether facilitating video calls or answering numerous questions about her care, I have never had an issue with the staff at FPAR. Whether in person or via Skype or telephone, meetings about my mom are conducted professionally yet with compassion. I have dropped in unannounced as early as 6am before an early flight, and as late as 10pm - I am ALWAYS able to see mom. Numerous friends are family members drop in when they are in the area, and they are always treated kindly. No rehab center is perfect, but my family is very happy with the care that my mom is receiving. While it is true that I would prefer that she be located closer to me, FPAR is the next best thing to having her next door. Day or night, even with the 3-hour time difference, if I want to know how things are progressing all I need to do is call. Someone always answers, and if they don't have an answer they call back quickly once they know what I need. I don't use the phrase "God sent" lightly, but that is exactly what FPAR has been for me. I would give them 10 stars if I could!

The admissions team has been very helpful and has guided me from the very beginning. I honestly would have been lost without their guidance and support. Whether over the phone or in person, everyone has been welcoming, compassionate, and always willing to listen to my concerns. What I appreciate most is the communication and teamwork among the staff. I recently had a care plan meeting with the whole care team, with Nanay included in the discussion. It gave me so much reassurance knowing that everyone is working together toward the same goal...her recovery, safety, and overall well being. The staff have been patient with her, encouraging her during rehab, and attentive to her daily needs. As a daughter, it means so much to know that when I am not there, she is surrounded by people who are willing to help, and care for her. I also appreciate how approachable and helpful the staff and management have been. They go above and beyond to answer my questions, guide me through her care, and keep me informed. If you don't like what is on the menu today, you can ask for a substitute. There are RNs and CNAs 24 x 7. There are two, sunny patios. So you don't need to hang out in your room. They have a large staff of physical therapists and occupational therapists, so every patient can receive therapy every day. As is usually the case, half the staff are Filipinos, but there are also staff from Indonesia, Nigeria, Mexico, Malta, Fiji, Lithuania, China and the Caribbean. One individual was even born in California!

They all really made the effort to make sure that he would get better and be able to come home. (Shout-outs to Govin and Maya.) The facility is gorgeous and welcoming and the rooms very pleasant; not institional at all. The staff is very caring. They paid attention to my husband's dietary needs, yet the food was pretty good for a nursing facility.

The nursing team communicated daily with their counterparts (i.e., patient needs/preferences) when shifts were ending/starting. My CNA's were also wonderful. Employees always had a smile on their face, no matter what their areas of responsibility were, a testament to the positive work environment. Cleanliness was a top priority. Every team member took his/her job seriously and with pride. The positive team dynamics I experienced are a direct reflection of the leadership skills of Judith Gasmin, Director of Nursing. Both she & Herna Mellizo, Assistant Director of Nursing, appeared in my doorway daily to check in and be sure everything was going smoothly for me. I appreciated the diversity of the therapy (PT & OT) teams as well. They tried to accommodate me into their a.m. schedule whenever possible. Shadelands has continued to follow up with me. I received a phone call the day after I was discharged with customer satisfaction questions. They said they'd follow up with me again. Stellar customer service!

I was not able to walk when I came here and with the help of physical therapy, I can now walk without a walker or cane. Its very easy to feel discouraged being in this kind of position but with the help and attitude of staff I have felt surrounded by good will and kindness. This was something so simple as to adjust a bed. I asked for a pillow to be placed underneath his hip/back and that hasn't been done either. His call button twice has not been set up in a location for him to reach. We found it on the floor. I have to say the food is good and he is happy with that and Dr. Salee was wonderful yesterday, but I am finding again that some prescriptions were going to be filled for him and then given the next day and that hasn't happened. So you cannot trust what they say, which is very sad when they tell you one thing with zero results.:(
