I've had my fair share of dentists and none come close to Dr. Traina. First things first, the girls at the front desk are as kind and sweet as can be. They prove that patient attention and service is not completely lost in Miami. They were so kind and attentive. Made everything so smooth and spoke kindly. My hygienist Luciana was not only kind, but super thorough and gentle! I said it...THOROUGH ANNNNDD GENTLE. Those two things are hard to find in one hygienist. She took her time to answer my questions and patiently explained things to me. She's amazing! Dr. Traina makes you feel as if you've been her patient for a lifetime. Few dentists have ever gone the extra step to ask about me about me! She gets to know her patients as people not just names on files and screens. She makes you feel so comfortable. I realized today how important that truly is. She was also very kind, patient and thorough. I am the most delighted I've ever been after a cleaning. I scheduled an appointment for my son to have his orthodontic separators placed because I was told the orthodontist is there Mondays and Thursdays until 4 PM. When we arrived, they said they couldn't do it and claimed I should have made a different appointment, even though no one mentioned any cutoff time when I scheduled. What made the situation worse was how I was treated. The female doctor with glasses and the older male doctor were both rude and dismissive. At one point the female doctor was signaling to other doctors not to talk to me anymore and even raised her hand toward me as if to stop me from speaking. The older male doctor also implied I was lying, saying they've "been doing this for 30 years." This is also not the first time I've noticed unprofessional behavior. I have personally seen this same female doctor speak rudely to employees, and my son has noticed it as well. He even mentioned it to the front desk before. After 10 years of bringing my child here, I expected professionalism and basic respect. Unfortunately, the behavior and bedside manner we experienced today were extremely unprofessional.

This place doesn't have an orthodontist on site and relay on a team every two weeks, anything in between is done by dental assistants. In my case I went 3 days in pain due to unproperly set spacers; The X-rays PC failed both times that I went there and received multiple unnecessary radiations trying the equipment to work; The impressions taken were deficient and had to be redone; The hardware was mislabeled and disorganized; After many attempts I decided that this is not the place to be on a long and expensive treatment; The experience was terrible and painful, DO NOT PUT YOUR KIDS OR YOURSELF thru this and better go to an orthodontist office full staffed. I asked for my money back (Deposit of $625) and after expenses of records and documentation, they just returned $183 dollars. Again the staff is great for cleaning but very disappointed of the orthodontist capabilities.

I was greeted and given paperwork to fill out. Within minutes of handing it in I was called in. I sat with Maria and she took my blood pressure (yep, they take your blood pressure there. How awesome is that?!) and x-rays. We discussed the condition of my teeth. Then, Dr. Millan came in and he looked over all the X-rays and my teeth. He discussed the treatment he'd like to proceed with. Sidenote: Dr. Millan is super likable. After talking to the dentist, Nicole came in and we talked about insurance coverage and what wasn't covered. If you don't have the money upfront , they do take CareCredit (you can get 6-12 months interest free). After accepting and approving treatment fees, I proceeded with making an appointment for my teeth cleaning. Luckily enough, they were able to see me the same afternoon. Liz, the hygienist, is so much fun! She puts you at ease, thoroughly explains everything she will be doing and leaves your teeth feeling like new! This is my second appointment there actually May 3. It was recommended that I need to come back for a deep cleaning three months after my regular cleaning and as much anxiety as I have, and as hard as it is for me, I went ahead and came back during my second appointment. It was explained to me that all of the procedure procedures that they want to do would end up resulting in about $2000. There were a lot of things there that I didn't feel were necessary and would take off of that total bill like replacing my old feelings. Anyways, I show up to my appointment today. The hygienist is as kind as can be, and really trying to help me deal with my anxiety. All went well at the end she applied some kind of medication that she said I couldn't floss my teeth for a few days. All is well I go to pay and my bill is almost $1000. My jaw dropped to the floor I have never in my life paid $1000 for a cleaning. The first response from the attendant was that I signed for this when I was lost at the office three months ago. I said excuse me, but it was never mentioned to me that my next appointment would be $1000. What if I was in a position where I couldn't pay for this right now this is completely unfair. The right thing to have done would have been to discuss his financials with me when I arrived and gone over any Part of it that was considered optional and not covered by the insurance. Apparently the medication that they applied at the end is what skyrocketed the bill but at no point was just explained to me or discussed with me prior to the process which I feel is very unprofessional and sneaky. I have completely lost trust and I will never be going back to this place. I do recommend them for their services and their staff, but make sure you are on top of your visit before committing to anything make sure that prices are clear to you upfront prior to having a procedure because this was very deceitful and not what I expect from a provider that is supposed to be caring and looking after my best interest. They have fair prices and have always made me feel like they do just what's necessary on my teeth without overselling me on unnecessary treatments. The service is always top notch-- I've had cleanings and fillings done and they always go smoothly and without any pain. I've only had one incident where they were running late on their appointments and was asked if I wanted to stay and wait, or come back another time. That said, Dr. deRoode took a look anyway and did not force any unnecessary treatment / costs on me. In fact she was sorry for the mix-up and did not charge me for the consultation.
