Attended my first event here and I wasn't disappointed at all. What a beautiful, peaceful place this is. I absolutely loved the grounds and being surrounded by so much of God beauty! We stayed the weekend in a room that slept 3 with a Jack n Jill attached bathroom to another room that slept 3. The shared bathroom had a toilet and a stand up shower and each room had its own sink. In the 3 person rooms there was a queen bed and a set of bunk beds. You need to bring your own bedding but they did provide pillows (I brought my own). The rooms were clean and they had a small closet which was nice to put the suitcases in. They also provided an extra blanket, fan and heater. The chapel was small but beautiful and if you looked out the windows you could see the 3 beautiful crosses on the mountain top. We held our conference in the Hall (can't remember the name). It was clean and spacious. The audio was decent too. I appreciated that they had an area in the back to serve coffee and tea. There was also a water cooler and full sized refrigerator for our use. They had lots of folding tables and chairs too! We ate all of our meals in the mess hall and the food was surprisingly good. I'm not one for buffet style food but I was pleasantly surprised. I'm addition to the main course they offered a very nice salad bar with everything you could possibly want on a salad and lots of drink options to include, juice, sodas, milk, tea, coffee and flavored waters! The hall seated ALOT of people. They require you wear a mask while getting your food and walking around the mess hall and provided hand sanitizer at the entrance. The grounds had all kinds of things to do! They had archery, a rope course, zip line, ping pong, hiking trails, board games etc. I love that they have scripture engraved on wood signs all over the grounds reminding you of Gods love and promises. I also visited the coffee shop and gift shop. The coffee shop offered a nice variety of coffee drinks and I loved the gift shop. It had a great variety of gifts and memorabilia at VERY decent prices.

What a great retreat site! I've been here on multiple occasions for different retreats, and I've never been unhappy with anything the facilities had to offer. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I came here 4 times for a college ministry retreat. The last time I came as part of the retreat leadership, so I got to interact with the pine valley staff a little more and see how they worked. The staff comes in and does a ton of behind the scenes work to ensure the comfort of all who are staying here. We were heading up a retreat for at least a good 500-600 students, so things were very hectic at times. But whenever we needed anything at all, the Pine Valley staff was there to help us out and get us whatever we needed right away. They always give us these huge cookies that are super delicious, too. The last time I came here(the 5th time) was with our church for a retreat we were holding. We had a very small ministry, and our entire retreat was only around 20 people or so. I was worried that because we were such a tiny group we might not get the service or attention that I noticed when I came with a far larger group. Boy, was I wrong! The staff was just as caring and helpful as I remembered. The staff knew our schedule, and they even took the liberty to sneak into the rooms we would use earlier than us to turn on the heaters so that when we got there, we'd feel nice and toasty. As a ministry, we were very blessed to see such diligent, kindhearted, and joyful workers. Having more cookies didn't hurt, either. :) They have plenty of facilities, including basketball courts, horseshoes, an archery range, a game room, paintball facilities, tire swings, and more. Last time when I was there they were almost finishing up a new swimming facility, so that will probably be up and running by now. The food is good, the staff is friendly, prices are reasonable, and the facilities are pretty nice. If you're planning a retreat, make it here!

My husband & I are the directors of SEP So Cal Youth Camp, a one-week Christian youth camp that RENTS the facility at Pine Valley Bible Conference Center in order to house our 170 campers and 100 staff. This coming July will be our 5th year at the camp facility and we have so many great things to say about the camp staff & facility. STAFF - They have amazing staff with excellent attitudes - from their Executive Director, Steve Daniels, to their High School kitchen staff -- they are all there to serve. FACILITY - They are constantly doing upkeep and maintenance on the facility and are continually adding new activities and improving the overall camp experience. They are good at getting feedback and listening to ideas & suggestions. We have been very pleased renting the facility at Pine Valley Bible Conference Center and would highly recommend it for a group retreat or camp. ~Anne & Mark Stapleton

There is adequate parking along sunrise Highway pretty much anywhere you go. You are supposed to have an adventure pass to park here and they have a kiosk to pay for it but it never works. Fortunately if you have the America, the beautiful pass, you can put that on your dashboard and that will cover it. Today, my man and I went out and did a hike on the PCT portion to Foster point. Absolutely stunning, one of my favorite overlooks in the area. On this portion of the trail, there is very little tree cover and you've got to be careful not to get dehydrated. It was only 74° and it got toasty in the sun. We were out there for three hours, and I had 3 L of water. I drank pretty much all of it and a Gatorade bottle that I brought. If you come out here for biking, be sure to hit Los Gatos Trail. It's so flowy and fun and has a bunch of little features you can play on. Noble Canyon is a legendary trail but if you are going to ride it, make sure you've got strong bike skills because it is quite technical.

BEST WEDDING VENUE EVER!…read more My husband and I dreamed of a wedding where everyone could stay together onsite, immersed in nature, with no worries about driving after a night of fun, and Camp Osito Rancho made that dream a reality. Our families stayed in the health center, lodge, and electrified cabins, while our friends embraced the adventure of summer cabins and tents. The venue offers so many stunning spaces, from the spacious dining hall for meals to the stage/amphitheater with fire pits--perfect for s'mores and late-night stories. We exchanged vows at the top of a hill near the outdoor pavilion, with a gorgeous backdrop of pine trees and a view of Big Bear Lake in the distance. We were able to offer our guests camp activities like archery and a pool day, as well as had room to setup other activities like craft tables and lawn games. The biggest perk was the complete freedom to choose our own vendors, allowing us to create a truly personalized experience (huge shoutout to Scratch Kitchen for catering--our guests still rave about the food). We spent a year making signs, collecting décor, buying solar lights, and crafting to transform this Girl Scout camp into a full-blown wedding festival. If you're up for planning the details, this venue is the ultimate blank canvas. Last but not least, the Camp Osito Rancho team is absolutely amazing. A huge thanks to Angel for her help throughout the year, Ryan for his help throughout the weekend, and to Gerardo for the tour that sold us from the start. For a wedding that feels like an unforgettable getaway, this place is pure magic

She comes home everyday excited to tell us about the activities she did, what the kids are up to in class, new things she learned and how much fun she had. I understand having no availability at the moment but I would appreciate working with a parent who had been loyal, was there from the beginning and helped increase their enrollment by sending many Carlsbad parents to them. Not as much as even a response. Just heads up, the teachers they hire are kind and great with the kids but the owners have always come across as cold and uncaring. More concerned about the bottom dollar than the children's best interest.

Students attend weekly meetings that include Hot Words (usually SAT prep), a family style dinner, a take home lesson, and tutoring by college students or other volunteers. RC also sends eligible students to UCSD over the summer to take courses for college credit, to a week-long summer camp to bond with other students, and helps seniors complete their college & scholarship applications... did I mention this is all for free? The students who I've met here are some of the most intelligent, friendly, and resilient high schoolers I know, and everyone on staff is wonderful. If you live in San Diego and you have a couple of free hours every week, definitely DEFINITELY check out this organization! Over the years, Reality Changers has proven that it is much more than a non-profit program. I have volunteered as a tutor and mentor since Spring of 2008 (back when I was still a student at UCSD) and it has been extremely rewarding seeing the students grow and mature into responsible citizens and adults. The weekly program consists of S.A.T. test preparation, an insightful lesson, a delicious homemade dinner (which is five stars for sure! not every volunteer gig you do feeds you!), and then 1.5 hours of study time. During this time, you are paired up with a small group of students which makes it easier to connect with the students. Reality Changers has even had inspiring guest speakers such as politicians, leaders in the San Diego community, and university officials. With the help of the supportive and encouraging staff and volunteers, these inner-city youth from San Diego become the first in their families to attend a four-year university.. and not only do they defy all statistics against them to get ACCEPTED, these students earn scholarships to go to schools such as Duke, Harvard, Dartmouth, USC, UCLA, and more. This truly shows how Reality Changers is more than just a program that helps high school students. It gives teens who never might have had the chance an opportunity of a lifetime and I am happy and blessed to be a part of it. It is amazing what a few hours a week can do to transform a student's life. This organization is unlike place I've ever volunteered at because they really make everyone who is a part of the program - whether you're a tutor, a parent, a volunteer, or a student feel like part of the RC Family. Also, tutors come from very diverse backgrounds - there are many college students (from UCSD, SDSU, PLNU, etc), professionals from the community, retired adults, and more who are all invested in helping inner city students from San Diego be the first in their families to go to college.
