I just discovered where my favorite vet landed: here! Here's why I like Dr. Ferguson: Cat weight dropping. Took cat to the VCA in Covington. Cat was diagnosed with a liver infection and put on antibiotics by the VCA vet. Cat's condition continued to deteriorate. I took cat to a completely new vet at a different location as a stab in the dark, who happened to be Dr. Ferguson. Dr. Ferguson was surprised VCA was unable to pull a diabetes diagnosis from VCA's own blood panel. She put my can on insulin. Turn-around has been miraculous. All thanks to Dr. Ferguson. Next, Ferguson took on the other cat in the house who'd been inappropriately urinating for years. VCA never had a clue how to help. Ferguson said, "Put her on this low magnesium food." Within a week, peeing stopped, and remains so to this day. Good vet care seems so hard to come across. Ferguson, in my book, is the real deal. read more

I brought my very elderly Bourke's parakeet to Dr. Ferguson last week as his age-related issues suddenly became far more concerning and complicated. I knew that her reputation in the parrot community was excellent but it was my first visit with her. I have been to almost all of the avian vets in the Puget Sound region, some very skilled medically (one for almost 30 years). But Dr. Ferguson's depth of knowledge far exceeds any of the others I've seen. In addition, she was so gentle when handling Rosie, clearly understanding how frail he is. I would recommend Dr. Ferguson to anyone who is looking for a truly exceptional vet for their bird. read more

Our family has bearded dragons and a red eared slider. Very difficult to find a Vet who really knowledgeable in reptiles. Ive seen rabbits, birds, pigs and of course dogs /cats come in. We just took our 3 hens and rooster to see Dr. Bridget Ferguson at Pine Tree Vet Hospital. What a great experience! The whole staff was wonderful. Dr Ferguson and both assistanst handled the chickens with kindness and love. They educated us on ways to monitor their health, taught me how to medicate the one chicken with an injury. I felt welcome, not rushed, and the chickens were as relaxed as I imagine a chicken could be at the vet. :-) The office staff were fantastic and friendly. I couldn't be happier. Thanks! read more

This Wednesday evening around 5:30pm my 6-yr old son went to feed our dogs dinner and discovered our 2-year old dog nearly lifeless in her kennel. I ran over and saw Abbie lying on her side next to a small pile of vomit. She was unresponsive so I pulled her out of the kennel and her body just flopped and she couldn't stand or walk. It was shocking and terrifying to see her in this state because less then 45 min earlier our dogs came inside from playing in our backyard, and now Abbie was vomiting, having diarrhea, couldn't move and was near death. I quickly wrapped Abbie in a towel and rushed out the door with my 6 and 3 year old children to make it to our vet, Pine Tree Animal Hospital. Pine Tree is located only a few blocks from our home and were open until 6pm. I pulled up to Pine Tree at about 5:40 and parked right in front and ran inside with my dog wrapped in white towels, her head draping down and her tiny body nearly lifeless. I told the receptionist my dog was a patient there and I just found her like this and she was dying and needed help right away. She told me to drive to Renton to the emergency hospital! I pleaded with her and said my dog won't make it to Renton, she's dying, and don't you triage your patients?! She said she'll talk to the vet and then walked to the back room located to the left side of the reception desk. She quickly returned and stated the vet said they have a full case load for the night and my "best bet" would be to drive my dog to the emergency vet in Renton. I was stunned and appalled and pleaded with her again repeating that my young children were in the car and I did not want my six-year-old son to have his dog die in his arms on the way to Renton. She repeated again that driving to Renton was my best chance. I ran out of the waiting room in tears and handed Abbie back to my son to hold. I drove to the nearest vet with an "open" sign at Four Corners in Maple Valley praying they would help us. My prayers were answered when the kind, caring veterinarian and her amazing staff at the Animal Hospital of Maple Valley took Abbie in their arms and saved her life with epinephrine and insulin. Dr Ashley said Abbie was barely alive when I arrived. It was a 3 min drive from Pine Tree Vet to this vet - Renton was a 40 minute drive. Animal Hospital of Maple Valley not only saved Abbie's life, but they also saved my son from the trauma of loosing his beloved dog in his lap on the way to Renton. I am sick about the way I was treated at Pine Tree. I will NEVER trust Pine Tree with my animals. To turn away a dying animal in favor of a routine appointment is not only appalling, but unethical. It reveals the character of the Pine Tree staff, from the receptionist to the veterinarian she spoke with. Not one person stood up in the waiting room offering to give my dog their appointment. No one seemed to care that my dog was dying. I am so thankful that across the street there is an ethical, caring and loving veterinarian and staff that saved our family from what would've been a very tragic day. I urge you to consider how you'd expect your veterinarian to respond to your pet's emergency. Pine Tree CAN NOT be trusted! read more

While the doctor may be great here, you can't ever get an appointment. Three different occasions I've tried to get in with an issue and they are booked a week or more out. They don't keep same day appointments open. I was offered to drop my dog off which I finally had to on the last visit and was charged a boarding fee for the day. I got a note back on what was done but everything was just checked off as fine and I never talked to the doctor. I've been there about a dozen times now and have only met the doctor once. They seem to specialize in birds and other animals. Sadly, they are just too busy to see regular clients. They need to add more vets or hold some appointments open for injuries and illness. Off to find another vet...again. read more

I love this vet office! The front desk staff is professional and responds quickly via email and over the phone. The doctors and techs are fantastic and compassionate. This is one of those rare veterinary clinics that cares more about the welfare of animals than that of their cash register. One of my dogs is under the care of a cancer specialist and now requires the services of a general vet. There was no "we have not seen him yet so we have to do a full work-up" or "he is new to us so we have to do a full physical". There was a phone call from one vet to another and a conversation about the best care for my dog. He is getting the care he requires without all the "extras". Dr. Ferguson also sees my cockatiel on a monthly basis, it is refreshing to finally have a vet that claims to be an avian specialist, but actually is one! Dr. Ferguson's staff is always friendly, kind, efficient and knowledgeable. A great place to take your pet. read more

I was so extremely disappointed with Pine Tree Vet yesterday. We started going to them based on a recommendation from a friend. They were expensive but seemed like they took good care of my three dogs. I have two dogs that are seniors and one younger poodle who has some chronic issues. Unfortunately though, things changed yesterday when our oldest dog somehow got a huge gash on her head that was in need of cleaning and some stitches. We called our vet with plenty of time to be seen and not on a Friday. We were told that they were full and she couldn't be seen. I then called back to plead my case as our dog doesn't do well waiting long periods of time or going to different people. I was told once again that the doctor didn't have time to see her and to take her to other places. I was so shocked that they wouldn't take her and felt completely dismissed. I will not be going back here. I will definitely be telling others not to go if they want quality care and people that go above and beyond for your fur babies. We ended up getting into Snoqualmie vet and they were super sweet and accommodating and took great care of our dog. It is all about the costumer service and this place was a huge disappointment. read more

I had to bring our dog here and after numerous attempts (several were at emergency hospital) and trails nothing was working. He was old and it was hard to decide to not do surgery but the positive & encouraging support I got for making the decision that's best for Tuffy & for our family was beyond what I expected. This is the best place to take your pet for any health issues, or emergencies. They'll care for your pet as if it was their own and the treatments will be the best. Our cat Max was injured and our normal veterinary office was full so they referred me to a sister hospital and to Pine Tree Veterinary. I called Pine Tree Veterinary first and I am glad that I did. Dr. Ferguson and her staff recognized the urgency of the situation and worked him in that day. (I should also mention it was a Saturday.) They cared for Max and showed a great deal of compassion. I recently started going to pine tree, I'm really happy with the service. I took my dogs to Mexico on vacation, pine tree vets made sure everything was done perfectly on the health certificates so there wouldn't be any problems . I love Dr Ferguson! She is one of the best avian vets. She really connected with my babies and they didnt have any fear. Super gentle and sweet to them, really cares about animals. Cost was very reasonable especially for the minor surgery my severe macaw got. My birds remember vet visits for years (even recognizing the route there) so it is important they have a good experience and they did. I took my senior dog there, blood work came back super fast (20min). He just laid down for her to get work done which is unusual for strangers. He is a good judge of character. Dr. Ferguson and her staff have been wonderful!! I drive from Puyallup just to have her treat my hens. I've heard many vets treat chickens as second class pets. Not this place! They love my girls like I do. My Heckle had to have a partial spay and get an implant to prevent her from ovulating. The implant is designed to last up to 6 months but I've barely been able to get three months out of it. Twice now, Heckle has started nesting behavior before her implant appointment, and twice Dr. Ferguson has worked Heckle into her busy schedule to get her implanted instead of making us wait for the appointment. Had to visit this vet due to my vet being on vacation. I loved the office from the front office worker to vet. asst. to dr. Everyone was wonderful. They could see how much my dog meant to me and went so far to help me figure out the best course of action for her. I love my regular vet and never thought I would leave them but this was a great office as well. read more

I have had good experiences with the vet every time we have visited, the issue is lead time on appointments and wait times. I've never been seen anything approaching on time. Waiting 30 minutes with a terrified dog is no fun at all. Recently I called to have my dog seen for an ear infection and they couldn't get me in sooner than a week out. Unacceptable for an animal in pain. read more

Dr, Ferguson and staff are the best. They listen and understand the needs of your pet. I have 4 cats and one of which is about 16yrs and diabetic. She developed an upper respiratory infection. She received excellent care and is feeling better. I won't take my fur babies to anyone else. Her office has all of the technical equipment to have most tests and meds done quickly. Amazing veterinarian and staff. Outstanding avian provider, but spectacular at taking care of all my kids! I take my birds, bunnies, kitties and doggies to her and absolutely none of them hate the vet! The staff is professional, knowledgeable and even though they are always booked, they always manage to squeeze me in if it's important and we're never treated like it's inconvenient. I've seen miracles happen here! My best friend had a dog that was diagnosed with an EXTREMELY rare condition and in the very first consultation, it was one of the things that Dr. Ferguson suspected and she was right on!!! However, she still listens to your ideas and firmly believes you know the most about your pet! That is hard to find these days! I highly recommend this vet and I can't sing the praises high enough! read more

One of our older daughters ferrets recently died, very unexpectedly. At the reccomendation of PetCo we took the other ferret to Pine Tree to get checked out. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and very compassionate in regards to the ferret who died as well. They handled cremation and provided us with an imprint of the ferrets paw so our heartbroken daughter could have something to remember her pet by. The cost was very reasonable. We will be bringing our dogs to Pine Tree for care from now on, it is worth the extra driving time to receive this level of care for our fur babies! read more

Dr. Ferguson and her assistant Kelsi came to our rescue this morning when our sweet dog needed to be euthanized but we could not bring him into the office. They came to our home and treated our canine family member with dignity and respect and allowed him to pass comfortable in his home. We are so grateful for their caring response going above and beyond. We will be switching to Pine Tree for our canine healthcare needs. read more

It has taken me a while to calm down but to I still can't come up with words for the complete incompetence this vet has displayed. Our poor cat passed away the week before Christmas. I wonder if more couldn't have been done but that's another story. We communicated to the vet that we wanted to bury our cats body in our yard. At the time the ground was frozen from snow and consistent temps below 30 degrees. I asked if we could pick him up in a month or 2 when the ground thawed out. She said no problem. Everything seemed fine and we appreciated the gesture to hold on to the cat until we could bury him. Much to my horror when I went to pick up my cats body they handed me a box of ashes. I can't even begin to describe how upsetting this is. Not only were we unable to bury our cat properly but we were handed a box of ashes that most likely weren't even his. Unless you ask specifically for a private cremation you are basically handed ashes from the bodies of animals you don't even know. This repulses me and is part of the reason we wanted to bury our cat's body. I don't know what kind of level of incompetence it takes to send someones animal to be cremated when they have specifically asked to have the body back to bury. It is clear however that the doctor/owner does not have the proper practices in place to prevent such a mistake. Further the doctor stayed in the back when this all went down only to call my wife after I had left. She didn't even have the nerve to call me and apologize directly to me. I have always felt walking in there this vet is over-whelmed. Unfortunately this very bad mistake proves just that. I can not in good conscious recommend this vet for that. Nice enough lady but this is just inexcusable. read more

Dr. Ferguson is the bird whisperer. I was a nervous wreck bringing in my parrot for his very first vet appointment. He never allows anyone to handle him and is very paranoid in general. She handle him like she used the Jedi mind trick on him. Absolutely a brilliant vet and I suggest anyone who has parrots and the like, get em in to Bridget. You wont be disappointed! read more
