Just returned for my second annual check up for my two chinchillas. I absolutely love it here. I love the atmosphere, the staff are always so nice. Most of all, I love that they're knowledgeable on a much less common pet and can help answer any questions or concerns I have for my boys. Will continue to drive 40 minutes each way to come to them!

I love this business and the staff here. Caring. And loving towards my pets. I highly recommend them to everyone who needs car for their animals of all kinds. My cockatoo recently past. They helped her through care and medication live another 6 years. Their support through my grief was so caring and loving. I can't express my gratitude enough. I'll take all of my pets in the future to this clinic.

I recently noticed a baby hawk distressed on the side of Kent-Kangley - inches from being hit by every car that drove by. The daughter of one of the veterinarians at this clinic happened to be driving by as I was trying to get the hawk out of the road (I had no clue what I was doing). She took him to Pine Tree and they even sent me an update - the hawk was fine and released back to the wild!

The absolute best Exotic Veterinary Clinic I have ever been to, and I'm picky! I have brought in rabbits, Guinea pigs, a parrot and even ducklings here, and have always received the best care. I feel like I can genuinely trust these vets, which is very hard to come by. I primarily used Dr.Ferguson, but all of the vets here are so knowledgeable, helpful and honest. Very reasonably priced for an exotic clinic. Will always be my go to recommendation for anyone looking for an exotic vet.

Apparently THIS VETERINARY OFFICE is unable to provide such a service and their Vets, Dr. Eibey and Dr. Tomlisson couldn't be bothered to talk to me face to face or via phone to discuss the matter. After being relegated to the office manager Wendy, she stated they do not provide that type of service however as I explained 3 other Veterinarians within 5 mile radius do she certainly had many excuses why they couldn't do it......too many things can go wrong, we don't have the time, and yes we would charge $100 if we did, etc. ? So I contacted Wilderness Veterinary, 1 block away and they do provide the necessary letter, detailed information about dog's condition and prescriptions in Spanish that is required when taking a pet over the border. Additionally, Wilderness was bewildered why Mountainside couldn't pull that off, ME TOO. Unfortunately, but as expected I had to establish my dog as a patient at Wilderness Vet and pay $100 that I should not have had to pay if Mountainside was a reputable Veterinarian. In addition, I found Mountainside Veterinary extremely EXPENSIVE, $1000 for blood work, 2 xrays, 2 prescriptions and consultation......I've gone to emergency services for 1/2 the price.

Hi, I want to share our very sad and disappointing experience with VCA Covington and encourage you…read morenot to visit this office. While our visits before Emma's end-of-life were positive and warm, we received such painful and shameful care at the end of Emma's life. I would never want another family or pet to go through what we did. Here's our story: Emma was diagnosed with renal disease around 9 months old. She had testing done prior to her being spayed. Dr. Walls believed it was possibly due to a birth defect. Moving forward, we went to the office every 6 months for check-ups and blood work. Around the end of April (Emma is now almost 5), we noticed Emma was declining in health. Around that time, I went on our VCA app and scheduled an appointment. Her appointment was scheduled for a month away (beginning of June). So, the next day, I called the office and asked if there was any way we could get Emma in sooner. The receptionist told me that we could call each day at 8 a.m. to see if we could get a cancellation and come in for a same-day appointment. I am a schoolteacher, and I explained I could not leave work for a same-day appointment and asked if there was an appointment the next day or in the coming week or so, anything sooner than beginning of June. I was told no, and she recommended we take Emma to Arrow, if needed. Fast forward two weeks later, and Emma is getting worse. I call again, and I am told the same thing again. This time, I say that my children's pediatrician keeps sick appointments in their schedule....was this something their office did as well? No, but I can call each day at 8 a.m. to hope to get a cancellation for a same-day appointment. This time, I ask a clarifying question: So am I understanding that your office is more of a clinic for preventive and wellness care? And, the receptionist says, yes. Then another week passes, and Emma is very sick. I have the same conversation with the same clarifying questions and answers. So, your office provides wellness and preventative care, but sick visits are not to be expected? Yes. This time, I share that we are so sad and disappointed in the care we are receiving at Emma's end-of-life. That this is something they needed to share with our family and other families when their pet is diagnosed with a chronic disease. 4 days later our sweet Emma was put to rest at Mountainside Vet in Maple Valley. Someplace she was not a patient, with people she had not been see or been cared by. They were wonderful with Emma, but what a terrible and shameful way for VCA to handle our situation. Emma died 4 weeks after we had made our appointment. Please do not take your pets to this clinic!! Your family and pets deserve dignity, compassion, and love at the end of their life. I also want to add that Fairwood Veterinary Office was also so helpful and kind when we were searching for sooner care. They were so helpful and caring. VCA may be great for wellness and preventative care, but end-of-life care is also so important.

Most of the staff are nice and the prices are good but the wait times are absolutely ridiculous. My dog needed to have surgery and they had me drop her off at 7am. I called them at 4pm because I hadn't received an update and I was told she hadn't even gone into surgery yet...I had to take time off work to drop her off early which is fine but it was frustrating to find out they just had her waiting around in a crate all day. Another instance is when I brought her in for some vaccinations and waited with her in the lobby for over 45 minutes. No one said anything to me and I had to ask multiple times to see what was going on because I shouldn't have had to wait that long. It was also frustrating because I moved my appointment from 4pm to 2:30pm and then literally waited until 3:30 to be seen anyway. Also, if you're in a room, they'll say they'll be back and then leave you in there for like 20-30 minutes without an update and you'll have to go into the hall and flag someone down to remind them that you're still there. They also let owners go into the surgery room when they drop off their pet while people are literally operating on an animal a few feet away...seems unsanitary to me. Luckily I'm moving so I won't have to come back but if I wasn't, I would have really considered finding a new veterinarian. Only good thing about this place is the price.

Every cat I have adopted in the past came with tags for license and rabies and was treated for fleas and dewormed. When I got the cat home, she had an oozing left eye and diarrhea. I waited a couple weeks for it to go away. Then I called them and told them what was happening and that the kitten came with these conditions. They said to bring her in for a check-up and after some discussion agreed to cover the visit. When I tried to put the kitten in the cat carrier, she went feral and scratched and bit me which turned into an infection. When I got there, I asked the staff if they had given me a feral cat. They wouldn't answer. I asked the doctor if she was feral and I needed to get a different cat. The doc said that they would clip her nails and put soft sock on her claws and to give it another try before returning the kitten. They had to put the kitten under to do that. The doc told me that her litter mate had Giardia so my cat probably did too. She also said my cat had gingivitis and an eye virus. This place keeps about 15 cats in one room in a trailer. So they all probably have Giardia and eye viruses. They gave me medication for my cat and said I had to pay for it. I said the cat already had these conditions when I adopted her and they had agreed to cover the visit so I shouldn't have to pay. At this point they grabbed my cat carrier with the cat inside and ran to the back and refused to give her back unless I paid! I could hear the doctor telling them to take the cat from me. I couldn't believe this unprofessional behavior. I ended up paying. I told the doc that I was mislead about the cat and the visit which is why I was asking questions. She said something like it must be a "cultural" thing (I am not Caucasian). Not only is she rude and misleading, she also makes racist remarks. All very shocking to say the least. While I was waiting I read the pamphlet for Cat Scratch Disease (Bartonella) which has very serious consequences to adults like organ failure if scratched by a diseased cat. My cat had the symptoms so I asked them to test her for it. Not only am I infected by the scratch, I may have a serious disease! If I hadn't read the pamphlet and asked for her to be tested, they wouldn't have done it even though the doctor saw she had symptoms. They said they would let me know the results in 2 weeks. This whole experience has been very stressful and I feel bad for the cat I adopted because through no fault of hers, she may have to be returned just when she though she had a forever home They are doing a service by taking in stray cats but they are taking no responsibility for adopting out unlicensed cats with parasite and viruses.
