5 hours ago November 29th, had 2 confirmed tee times at 6:45 and 8:54. Was told there would be a frost delay of roughly 2 hours 15mins. Fair enough, I understand its almost December, no issue with that. So basic math would tell you our tee times are now right around 9 and 11:10ish. We tee off right after 9 and play right at 2 hours. Again, basic math would tell you we are now roughly 15 minutes early for our 2nd tee time. When we check in with the 'clipboard' guy for our 2nd tee time, he tells us right away "its not looking good" but he goes in to check in with the clubhouse. We're a little confused as again, everything was delayed and moved down 2hrs 15 mins. Not too complicated. Clipboard guy comes back out and tells us "bad news, not looking like we can get you guys out. We're so backed up from the delay." At this point none of us know what to think as mathematically and the way time on this planet operates, we had two tee times 2hrs 11mins apart. Played our 1st nine in just at 2 hrs, so we are early for our 2nd 9. But now we are being told we can't play at all. While talking to the Clipboard guy, the Starter walks up to us and immediately gets defensive and repeats over and over there was a 2hr and 15min frost delay! And we reiterated we completely understood, but if everyone was pushed back, then our 2nd tee time, which we are early for, was also pushed back. Starter would not budge and one point just said "well I'm the Starter", which is not helpful at all clearly. Course is very mismanaged. Clearly a course that prefers their regulars to any other customer that shows up on time, plays quickly and has the audacity to expect to play both tee times they booked. With the amount of courses in the area, it's absurd that a 9 hole course that is a generous 'executive course' at best can't coordinate a frost delay, which is extremely common in New England. Curious if anyone from the course has thoughts, but I'm sure they're busy looking for groups in the parking lot after telling a foursome that was ready that they can't play read more

3 times of 5 visits this year they have screwed up our tee times and 2 of the 3 screw ups resulted in us not being able to play. On top of their inability to schedule a tee time the old guy at the counter was a total jerk & when we mentioned that this had happened multiple times he told us to go somewhere else it is what it is. Hope the town rectifies this, its a bad look for Lexington. read more

A friend at my office recently took up the great game of golf. While chatting about where to get started, I eventually told him about Pine Meadows in Lexington, MA. A few days later, he came back from having played there, and he was ecstatic. I love this little course. Even though I'm closer to the Woburn Country Club, I've spent many a weekend and weekday morning at Pine Meadows. It's relatively short (2768 yards over nine holes), but challenging and intricate enough for a beginner to intermediate player. The course starts with two par-5s (both under 500 yards), and then you can put away your woods. There are some up hill holes, and some down hill holes. The final hole is a 166 yard par-3 over water. It frustrates me to no end that I have dumped my ball in the water nearly every time I play this hole. My friend said it was pretty quiet when he went to play, but I have seen it be backed up. Still, as they say, a bad day golfing is better than any good day at the office. Check it out! read more

Their employment staff is terrible. Today they yelled at me for being 3 minutes late to a tee time but worse acted like they couldn't give me a refund. here's the full story: I arrived a few minutes before my tee time (in all honestly, I should have been earlier). My buddy called me and told me he was going to be 5 minutes late. I talked to the cashier and he said come back after my buddy arrived. Totally understandable, our fault for being late. My buddy arrive five minutes later, the cashier let us pay for our round of golf saying we were good to golf. Great. But when we brought our receipt to the starter he goes back inside and then comes back out to tell us we can't golf until an hour and a half later because we were late. Okay, so why did you let us pay? At this point I'm frustrated because their staff was rude to us (they've acted this way, like we're piece of shit for paying them, before). They're clearly small town losers that have nothing better to do than make drama to entertain themselves. Everyone knows people like that. But when I go back inside the cashier and ask for a refund the cashier says I'll see "IF" I can get you a refund. Really? Talk about adding insult to injury. So I gave him lip that he has to give me a refund and he freaks out even more than me blaming me for being late. They need to get organized and communicate to each other. If I'm late and you can't readjust my tee time, that's my fault but don't treat me like a piece of shit while I'm trying to give you my business. read more

We had foursome and asked the man in the pro shop we needed carts. He said they were all out my friend said to him one of the players was gimpy from hip surgery. He then said to my friend he might have one and to follow him I said I would walk so they could ride. When my friend got back he said to me there were plenty of carts it was obvious that the guy didn't want to get the carts. He also was confused when ringing up the green fees. Too bad the town of Lexington does not want to make an income from carts because of lazy employees. read more

I've golfed here a couple times in the past few weeks and, for the money and the course, you can't do much better in the area if you're looking to play nine. Play can be a little slow (the par 3s, in particular, created some delays), but I was in and out in about 2.5 hours both times. Otherwise, it's all positive: - Good value -- $21 for out-of-towners on weekdays - Nice mix of holes -- a couple lengthy par 5s, a very challenging par 4 (No. 5), some water shots, and some straight and simple ones - Challenging greens and pin placements -- No. 8, in particular - Nice folks -- friendly starter, friendly staff Tee it up! read more

Played there yesterday, good condition. Greens little slow, pace of play very slow. Course not monitored. After 2 holes went to pro shop and informed them of very slow play after two holes. Ranger went out to check on play it didn't make any difference. It took almost 2 and a half hours to play nine holes. Would love to come back again but course not monitored very well. Pine Meadows is nothing fancy, but it isn't trying to be. There are aren't really a lot of options for public courses within 128, so Pine Meadows doesn't have a lot of competition. I thought the course was inexpensive, well maintained, and had a nice layout. There was some buffer between fairways, so it didn't feel tight. My only complaint was that the course was backed up and we had to wait on several holes. There was a foursome in front of us playing VERY slowly, and the ranger did not get them moving. At times it seems like they were just milling around the course - it wasn't even obvious they were playing golf. I do think that this is common on public courses. It took about 2.5 hours to play nine holes. I would go back. read more

Fairly unprofessional staff-- often difficult to communicate with. The course is pretty boring: 2 very similar parallel par fives to start with, followed by a short straight on, uphill, reachable par four. Of the remaining six, four are half decent, two are ho-hum. Condition not great. In order to play 18 holes, one must first pay for and play nine, then return to clubhouse and do it again! Not for serious golfers. read more

Decent course, but the staff is absolutely horrible. Originally they told us they were out of carts. When they found 2 carts for us they told my 19 year old cousin he had to be 21 to drive (we later called the pro shop and no such rule existed). We were on top of the group in front of us and the group behind us was on top of us. On hole 9 a worker told us to hurry up our putts because there was a group behind us. Great layout and really fun course to play at an affordable rate. First three holes are very easy and then the course starts to get a little more challenging. The 3rd and 4th hole seem like the same distance but one is a short par 4 and the other is a very long par 3. The starters seem friendly and helpful. The clubs house is very limited however and does not have much to offer except golf balls and a few snacks. The wait times here can be brutal. Even on a Monday morning they are packed and the course plays extremely slow. They don't have a ranger or anything to help keep the pace read more

The starter, pro, and other gentleman that work there just don't care. The pace is very slow, slowest I've ever played, they don't care. It doesn't help the golf pro teaches lessons on the course playing 5-6 balls and holding everyone up. He won't even let you play through, and when this was mentioned to the starter, he just didn't care, said " he does this all the time, he thinks he owns the course". This is a decent 9 hole course. It is a bit pricey for non-Lexington residents. Don't be fooled by the two flat and straight par 5s. The course has some challenging holes like the sloped green at #8. You might get on in 2 but end up 3 or 4 putting. So watch out. I played in a morning league there and it was great. No waiting. On the weekends is another story. It does get really crowded. They are also really good about getting singles on. So if you are looking to just get in 9 holes but your friends are lame and don't want to play, Pine Meadows is a good place to go. read more

This is a decent 9-hole course that is fairly cheap. They only take checks or cash, so be prepared. You will probably not loose too many balls since the fairways are wide. If you like to walk while you golf, this is an easy one. The greens were well maintained. I will return. read more

Could be a solid 9 hole golf course, but the staff constantly overbooks Tee times and you end up with people up your ass and hitting right on top of you, or you're waiting for people at every hole. Been here a dozen times and I am constantly waiting on people and it's not even their fault. Management needs to tell their employees to stop overbooking. I would rather have someone tell me, sorry we don't have a spot open, then me waiting all day just to play 9 holes. You get what you pay for I guess. read more

I've played here a number of times the last few years and for the $18 or $20 weekday fee (Lexington residents get a discount) it is a great value. It is not the most challenging course but has enough variety that it is fun to play for golfers of all abilities. They do their best to keep the course in solid condition, including removing leaves in the fall - take notice Wayland GC. If you want a great championship course go to Pine Hills or Pinehurst but for an enjoyable, reasonably priced 9 holes of golf go to Pine Meadows. read more

This a nice 9-hole course. Challenging at parts. It's nice to start off with 2 par 5s. The drive on the 6th is like hitting on the range. It's deceiving tho. It narrows pretty quickly so gotta hit it straight if you are a long hitter. The green on the seventh is pretty challenging. read more

Pine meadows, I will definitely be back. I golfed here on a sunny Saturday, I paid 24 dollars (non resident fee) for nine which is decent, but not my favorite. the greens were in decent shape, although you could tell they need a rollover or two, I would like to play this place again later in the summer when the greens are a little dryer. Par threes are a challenge, otherwise this is a pretty basic course. If you happen to be at Stone Meadows and want to play nine after hitting balls, then this is the course for you. read more

this course is on the upswing. having played here for a few years now, i know they gutted the staff, so any concerns that you're reading about them you can probably put to rest. the new crew seems to have a much better handle on both the club house and the course. the layout here is a good mix of challenging holes and chances to make up strokes. trouble lurks, but so does opportunity. two straightforward par 5s start you off, followed by a short par 4, a tricky down hill par 3, a nasty doglegged par 4, a medium length par 3, a downhill easy par 4, a narrow short par 4, and a short par 3 over water. conditions this year are the best i've seen since i started playing the course. they lost the 4th green this winter, but installed a temp. i think the reg has since opened. they're also replacing tee boxes (which was sorely needed) and grooming a more punishing rough. not the longest course in the world, but you could do worse. pace tends to be cruddy, i think. i golf super early on the weekends just to avoid the crush of people and the 2.5hr 9 holes. they haven't figured that one out yet. read more

For 20 bucks, the layout and condition is actually pretty acceptable. I'm not a snobby golfer, I prefer fun layouts and cheap golf. One thing is for certain though, don't be even a minute late for your 'tee time'. Pretty much all of the staff were unnecessarily rude to me and my friend. Showed up 2 minutes early for our tee time and by the time the guy in the shop processed our payments we were maybe 2 minutes past our tee time. We tried to walk to the tee box and the started damn near yelled at us. He proceeded to put 3 foursomes in front of us (we were a twosome) seemingly out of spite. Also, don't expect to play a speedy round. This course naturally attracts some inexperienced golfers, which is fine. But the staff are not helpful and don't even have a ranger on the course. Overall: Staff sucks, and I refuse to give them any more money. You're in the service industry: slap a smile on and get over yourself. read more

Pine Meadows is a fun course to play a quick. It is great for beginners as well as experts. The staff is a bit ornery, as they are older men, so I would expect that. Some flat holes and hilly holes. Course is well kept and in good shape. It seems like it was added on to a neighbor hood when there was a little bit of land left over. A hidden gem. The could improve the "clubhouse" a bit. All in all a fun course to play! read more

Let me first begin by stating the course is in good shape. Unfortunately that's about the only positive feedback I can provide. My experience began when I walked in the pro shop at 6:33 pm to play a quick 9 holes before it got dark. The man at the desk was rude from the beginning. I didn't think much of it and actually laughed it off at the time. At around 8:15(plenty of day light left) we are on the 9th hole wrapping up our round when the staff started yelling at us. We literally had 2 putts left as we were on the green and they started yelling "hurry the hell up and get off the course we need to go home!". I couldn't believe how rude these individuals were. We literally had 2 putts left and were scoping out the green as they are yelling at us. Suffice it say I will NEVER go back to this place due to the way we were rudely treated. read more

I've played this course before and had a decent experience, considering it's a cheap, 9-hole course. I called while at work hoping to get out for 9 after. I asked someone named Galen whether or not there was a chance for getting out for 9 holes sometime around 5:30. The response was "Sorry, nothing for 2 players then," and the line went dead. I was hung up on, but giving him the benefit of the doubt, called back. Sure enough, his tone was no less curt and I was dismissed once again. Public nine hole course. The course is well-maintained and the staff is courteous. However, they have a severe scheduling problem. After it took us 90 minutes to play the first three holes, I walked to the fourth tee only to discover that there were three groups waiting there. For the first time in my life, I walked off the course. I am not going back anytime soon. read more
