Let me start by saying run don't walk away from this practice. I'm 67 years old and I have never…read morebeen through an experience with a dentist like the one I had Saturday. I got to my appointment at 12:45, 15 minutes before my appointment. I was in a lot of pain and I had a very badly infected tooth by 1:30. I started to ask am I going tobe seen? Is there a problem? They said they were very busy because it was a Saturday by 215 an hour and 15 minutes later I got put in a chair. I got some x-rays. Some that were not necessary because I had one tooth that was the problem. I then get put in another room and the dentist said she will pull the tooth and then give me an antibiotic. At that point, the girl came in and started to upsell me on a bone graft . They wanted to do something with the tooth in case I wanted an implant one day. The cost of that that was going to be $1200. I told them please just pull the tooth and that's all. She said she'd check with the dentist I asked again when I'm going to be seen. The dentist came in and said that they were busy. She hadn't had lunch yet, which wasn't my problem. The billing girl then came in and said OK we're gonna pull the truth. She wants to put a collagen plug in the tooth. I'm 67 and unfortunately have had many teeth pulled. I've never needed a collagen plug for $350 and I asked her to just pull the tooth. I called my brother-in-law who had been a dentist and recently retired. I was crying at this point. He said that I don't need any of the things that they wanted to do. The bone graft can be done at the time of the implant and I definitely don't need a collagen plug. Just get the tooth pulled and leave. Don't leave there though until I get the tooth pulled. They had me at a real disadvantage because I was in so much pain and the tooth was so badly infected. Finally around 3:15, over three hours after I arrived she came in and said we're going to pull the tooth. She gave me several shots of Novocaine, she took no care on how she did it and it was painful, then without even letting the novocaine work, she pulled the tooth, which was excruciating!! In all my past experiences when you get novacaine, the Dentist would wait 10 to 15 minutes for the Novocaine to start to work, I almost think it was done purposely because she saw me as a problem. She finally pulled it and gave me a prescription for an antibiotic and ibuprofen. I said thank you and I walked out. So many things went wrong on so many levels. I would never ever recommend anyone go through this and go to this practice. There are too many dentists out there that care to go to a place like this. My brother in law also said in his 50 years of practicing dentistry, he never made a patient in that much pain sit for three hours before anything was done, he never let a patient sit that long that wasn't having an emergency! During all of this up selling and waiting and confronting them, they made me feel like I was the problem not their incompetent practice!! I have only written 3 or 4 reviews about anyone or anything, but this has to be told so other patients never go through what I did.

Other than that... this place is AMAZING. The staff here and hygienists are insanely good and thorough with their cleanings and I love how they also give me a little toothpaste to take home when I am finished! I never have to wait long when I check in! Their waiting room is rather small with a handful of chairs but it is never crowded to where I have to stand or wait outside. The place is also very clean and I like that each room has a television that they play music from so the cleanings are never quiet and awkward! Making an appointment is very seamless and they give you more than enough reminders for when your upcoming appointment is. They take their time and I love that they do because my teeth always feel incredibly fresh and clean after my cleanings or check ups if I think I might have an issue. Dr Gonzalez is one of the friendliest people that I know and doesn't feel like I am being rushed out when I am talking to him. I am not a fan of the other dentist that recently started because it feels like she is trying to push products such as claiming I have an overbite when my orthodontist has never said anything about it and I have had braces. They are open every day of the week and every other Sunday and their office is very clean and I never feel like I am on top of anyone when I'm here and waiting for my cleaning. A truly amazing dentist and practice that I hope to continue to go for as long as I can! I even went through the trouble of filing a formal appeal with Aetna, which was denied simply because of timing. This process has been stressful, time-consuming, and felt very misleading from start to finish. They should have rescheduled. They called plenty of times days before my exam to remind me of my appointment only for me to be waiting and sitting here. Usually I don't mind the wait , but waiting 30+ minutes after check in. And then 30 mins after the "x-ray" exam.. the dental assistant didn't even tell me a time when someone was coming and here I am just waiting and waiting. At this point, I just want to walk out but I already paid. Smart move- make them pay beforehand so they have to wait for service to be done. When I was getting my x-rays done, gosh that was painful - shoving it in my mouth and not being gentle. I felt the soreness after in my mouth.
