He was so extremely patient with me and talked me through the process. He said that if he couldn't get me prepared enough with other options that we would continue with the IV. We prepped with a pill an hour before my visit and when I arrived I was still pretty tense so he gave me some Nitrous (which honestly I had before and it didn't work)...with a little tweak of the nitrous I was ready to go! My dentist referred me to Dr. Lichstrahl's office. I called and made my appointment with ease. The day of my appointment I walked in and was greeted and given all the paperwork to sign. I was called to see the doctor. Dr. Lichstrahl's explained everything and he recommended I come back to take care of the root canal that was done in a couple of week. He gave me a script for antibiotics. I got a call a few days before to confirm. The day of, everything went smoothly. I have to say I hardly felt a thing. He has what my grandmother calls "Saint Hands." He did the anesthesia and I didn't feel a sting or anything. He explained what he was doing and asked how I was doing during the entire procedure. If anything the dentists are far more careful here than the private practice dentists I've seen. The only real hassle is joining their program, as there's a waiting list. After screening and initial evaluation, they're very thorough and very clear in recommendations. The staffers including front desk check-in are invariably friendly and efficient. It takes a bit longer since the dental students get everything checked over by the instructors. My impression was that the dental students just starting do the less complex tasks and the ones about to graduate get the more complex tasks

The coolest thing though? They have tv's on the ceiling. What a better place to have a tv, right? While they are digging in your mouth you can watch Judge Judy.
