Another bad dentist that wants to charge you for fancy "panorama" x Rays and tell you that you require expensive "deep cleanings". This is what most dentists that take DMO insurance do. They are also pushy with the you getting the "extras". I've saved money by canceling my insurance and paying cash at a more qualified and honest dentist closer to home. We were also charged a $20 referral charge, which Aetna said was not chargeable according to their contract. Waiting for the office manager to contact me about refunding the charge. May 2015 update: still no refund or return call from their office "manager". It's been escalated through my insurance and hopefully this dentist will learn not to be dishonest and ignore complaint responses from Aetna. read more

WILL TRY TO UPCHARGE YOU FOR EVERYTHING. My family and I had been a patient here for YEARS. I came in with my wife for a cleaning (my first for the year) and let them know I wanted only what was covered by the insurance. After A LOT of arguing, they finally agreed to do a "basic" cleaning on me but refused to due so on my wife because of "swollen gums" when they had just tried to upcharge her for a deep cleaning. When I asked the dentist why that was, all she had to say was "why don't I go back to my other dentist?" They basically KICKED ME OUT, a patient who had been with them for years. Unbelievable. I even filed a formal grievance for their office with the insurance company. Stay away! read more

Be very very careful. Dental hygienist & dentist both found costly problems with my teeth, dentist said I have cavities. My 2nd opinion dentist says I have zero cavities. Hygienist wanted extensive and expensive deep cleaning, fluoride all kinds of stuff. 2nd opinion hygienist said I have very mild tartar in a small area and gave me a regular cleaning and some brushing advice. Cavities are NOT a subjective diagnosis. Erosion yeah maybe, but again, my 2nd opinion said my teeth are beautiful. Poor English language skills for the ENTIRE staff. I recommend they not converse 100% with each other assuming patients do not understand Spanish. Know your rights as a patient. You can refuse treatment. You can say NO, I'll take the regular cleaning. You can explain you just don't want the other stuff, or maybe later after you think it over. I'm not saying this is a poorly trained or equipped dental office, I am saying you DO have the option to go with the regular cleaning and exam and take time before getting into a big procedure. Dr. Tendero and Dr. Nicieza are both amazing. I've seen quite a few dentists and orthodontists and they are amazing. I went in 2016 for my consultation and I ended up having to wait. I gave them a call last week to book an appointment and I was in the next week and they redid my consultation quickly. There was no waiting. They were quick and efficient. On top of that, I trust them fixing my smile. I have never felt truly comfortable with my general dentist until meeting Dr. Tendero today. Same thing with the orthodontist, Dr. Nicieza! They are definitely not a scam. Not only are they great people, but so are their front desk staff, hygienists, and x-ray technologists! I felt really comfortable asking them all any questions I needed answers to. Great service is always a plus, but the facility is really clean. Cleanliness is something that needs to be practiced and they definitely do! I went to this dentist for a second opinion. Didn't want my 2 front teeth capped! She was WORSE! Wants to do root canals on 3 front teeth! Didn't 't mention it to me and left the girl at the desk a bill for me for $5,500. (and 3 caps) took x-rays and wouldn t tell me the results! Yes, they do take DMO's and therefore you do end up paying out-of-pocket costs. If that's your complaint, then change your insurance or pay extra for a PPO. DO NOT take away from the service you are provided. The dentist, hygienists, and staff are kind and accommodating to the patient's needs. I have been there several times within the last few weeks and was treated with respect and provided quality care. Also, I was given a breakdown of my OOP costs prior to beginning any service, which I thought was courteous rather than sticking me with a bill afterward with me unable to decide. read more

II went for my six month check up a cleaning. I was a little nervous not because I was scared but because of the two bad reviews I saw here. t was the closest dentist that accepted my insurance , so I went anyway. To muy surprise I had an awesome cleaning and a thumbs up exam with no work needed. My last dentist recommended to remove all my silver fillings because they had cavities around them. Dr. T showed me everything was smooth and said they should last for many years, she just advices me not to chew hard stuff like ice, etc. read more

The receptionist is very confrontational and not flexible at all. The hygienist was friendly and thorough. The dentist herself (Dr. Tandero) seemed okay, but she didn't explain anything and I didn't even know what work she was recommending to be done until I was handed the estimate on the way out the door. Though the staff is friendly and the Dr's are seemingly knowledgeable, they are running quite the little operation there. My first visit earlier this year I was charged $50.00 for an "emergency visit". Come to find out my dental plan through Aetna covers this. I called and complained. I got back a $12.00 check. This November, I went in to have a crown re-cemented back onto one of my molars. They charged $85.00 plus the $10.00 copay. Once again I found out this is covered and they are not allowed to charge for this. Their reasoning is that the crown was not made by them therefore they can charge. According to Aetna this, much like the "emergency" visit fee is covered 100%, and they are in breach of contract with by charging me. AND they have been avoiding talking to myself OR Aetna. First the office manager was magically out for a week so there was nobody to speak with.. A week later, the office manager refused to take my call, and when Aetna again called they said the office manager was out again until next week. I currently have a complaint filed with Aetna, but there's nothing that can force them to pay back the $85 so I'm out a good chunk of change. read more
