I have been living here for over 25 years and there have been lots of changes for the better. The food in Chipper's has improved immensely. the staff is terrific. It's always clean and welcoming. After playing here just about every weekend, sometimes twice a weekend, since the end of April, unfortunately today was by far the worst experience we've ever had. And will be the last time we play here. This course will never see another dime from my pocket. Our group paid for 18 holes and only played 6 because we were being watched and followed by the ranger beginning on the second hole all the way to hole 6. When she was asked what the issue was, she informed us that she was only doing her job and that she was watching both our group and the group behind us. How could you be watching both groups when you followed us the entire time? In her words, "I'm helping you guys." Well we don't need help, we know the rules and regulations. If the group behind us wanted to play through by all means we would have had no problem with that. After the 6th hole, we decided to quit because we knew exactly why we were being followed. She then followed us and beat us back to the pro shop, only to tell a lie stating that we were holding up the group behind us and refusing to let them play through. This was far from the truth, especially considering we've played there every weekend, have allowed other groups to play through, and have never had any issues with the other rangers in the past. At the pro shop, I asked if I could be charged for 9 holes and receive a refund for the rest. The woman at the pro shop said that she heard we did not want the group behind us play through and that they do not give refunds. It's unfortunate to be targeted the way we were and then lied about on top of it. Highly disappointed!!!! They will never get my money again. The worst part of this ordeal is that the waitress at the bar and grill, Chippers is losing out on business because of this. We always eat there after our round. Sadly, not anymore. read more

Honestly I am bias cause this my first 18 hole golf course in south florida. I am also a beginner and I am also a resident! But it was the perfect course for me as a beginner. I only bee golfing since December. This was a nice scenic course and not too many opportunities to lose balls, haha. I had fun! I am a 62-year-old white man, and I was golfing with a group of close friends made up of both Black and white golfers. We are all professionals and have been playing this course regularly for the past few months. Until this visit, every employee we encountered had been courteous and professional. Unfortunately, today's experience was completely different. An elderly female ranger approached us early in the round, stating that only four players were allowed instead of five. We explained that we had paid for five players, but to avoid any issues, one member of our group voluntarily chose not to play. We followed her instructions without argument. Instead of moving on, she remained nearby watching our group. She returned multiple times claiming we were holding up play, even though there was no group waiting behind us. She then accused us of not allowing another group to play through, despite the fact that no one had ever come up to us or asked. Had they done so, we would have gladly let them play through. We understand golf etiquette and have always respected it. The ranger continued following and confronting us throughout the round. The constant scrutiny and repeated accusations made the experience uncomfortable and stressful. Eventually, she told us that if we didn't like it, we could leave and receive a refund. At that point, we decided it was no longer enjoyable and left the course. Before we reached the clubhouse, the ranger had already spoken with the staff. The clubhouse attendant accepted her version of events without giving us an opportunity to explain what had happened and refused to issue the refund we had been told we would receive. As one of the two white golfers in our group, I found the treatment directed toward our group deeply troubling. Based on everything I personally witnessed, I believe our group was treated differently than other golfers we have encountered during our many visits. While I cannot speak to the ranger's intentions, the pattern of repeated scrutiny, accusations, and the refusal to hear our side left me with the strong impression that race played a role in how we were treated. This experience does not reflect the professionalism we have received from the course in the past, which makes it even more disappointing. We enjoy the game, respect the rules, and simply expected to be treated with the same courtesy as every other group. I sincerely hope management investigates this incident so that no other group has a similar experience. read more

As a long term resident in the community, the Pine Island Ridge County Club is the best feature living here with my family. Sunday Brunch is phenomenal and is the highlight of my weekends. As an international global traveler whos dined in over 40 countries I can personally attest to the high quality and vast variety of food being served. I absolutely love everything on the menu and most importantly the staff is phenomenal. Tiffany, David, Ms. Rosie, Stevenson, and the entire team are truly the most dedicated, loving, hospitable, and loyal staff one could hope to have I their community. I am grateful for this wonderful group of people and love Sunday Brunch. Its my favorite thing to brag about living here, in addition to the weekly meals and the absolute delicious prime rib on Saturday nights! This time I m reviewing Chippers which is the sports bar in the country club. We get food cards as we live in Pine Island Ridge. I am saying this because we ordinarily would not dine in a place like this. Basically it is ok for what it is. I enjoy it because I don't have to cook dinner. They have recently changed the menu as the residents complained about the dated menu which really did not change in many years. It has improved some. Options have become more interesting. Salads have more options on what you can add to them. The entrees and appetizers are touch more interesting. The salads offer more options on what you can add to them. Pizza and burgers are relatively standard. Portion sizes on the entrees are generous. I had the grilled salmon with fries and coleslaw. The fries were cooked just how I asked, well done and crispy. Portion was generous. I was happy to see the coleslaw hadn't changed as it was always very good. The salmon was a nice size and was grilled a little on the well side but was still ok. My husband disagreed with me but I think it had a hamburger taste. I may be wrong. A major plus is the beer prices. If I am not mistaken on tap 16 oz is about $3.50. Now for the major complaint. the place itself is extremely outdated and the place is musty. We tend to eat outside because of this. I am a resident of Pine Island Ridge since August, 1999 and always love going to our Country Club for Lunch and/or dinner. Things have changed drastically at the Country Club in the last couple of years. Food not as good as it use to be and prices have gone up quite a lot. Last night I went with my husband and 2 friends to celebrate my husband's 90th birthday. It is a big deal for him to go out as he is handicapped and not in good health. He has to be careful of what he eats as on dialysis and is a diabetic. I told him to get the grouper fingers as it's his favorite fish. FISH where's the fish?. It was hard, dry and full of crunchy batter and not any fish that you can see. It was so disappointing and I can't believe that Chippers Grill would serve this. Then I asked for a slice of cake with a candle and was charged $6.00 for it. Not a hug piece. We are steady customers there and they could have given it to us for a gift for his 90th birthday. This is my dad's go to place to eat. It's located in his community and not far from his girlfriend and condo. So when I visit from NY I can always count on having a meal or two here. The club has two restaurants, fancy dining upstairs, a collared shirt, long pants and shoes required. Downstairs is "Chippers" the clubs informal bar and grill. Upstairs the food is on par with a NYC 3 star restaurant. The food downstairs is typical bar food. Fresh from the deep fryer or microwave. The fried shrimp dinner was just as good as any I've had from the frozen food isle. They also make a good salad and their coleslaw is surprisingly good. This is a private club and membership is required to dine here. So if you have friends or relatives who live in Pine Island Ridge and they want to take you here for dinner go give them a try. read more

Terrible , hazel the bartender is rude and nasty . She has no business being in the service industry. She is out right nasty ! Went swimming with 4 kids and miss Karen aka hazel had the audacity to leave her spot behind the bar to come out and to the pool deck and try to throw out the kids from swimming in the pool . Her issue was no kids in the pool with a diaper on , the 1 yr old had a swim diaper , she came out of her cave with so much anger , hate , and nastiness and yelled at my mother the children's grandmother she is so disrespectful! People like her are the reason pine island ridge country club is going to the toilet . She should be ashamed of herself , she has nothing better to do than to throw little kids out of the pool . It's really disgusting the level of disrespect and unprofessional behavior . I will make sure to go to the country club 1st thing and make a formal complaint , she needs to be fired . She is a cancer and spreading , her attitude alone will seal the deal for this place ... Food is terrible , service is beyond terrible not to mention she drinks while on the job her breath smells like a brewery and is nasty , place smells like a musty dungeon ... This is my second time here in recent months. First time I didn't check in and I should have left that dismal review. First to be greeted by a security not only requiring a mask but taking my temperature (93 degrees that seems accurate) to getting a sticker that must be visible on my clothing. Is not a what I expected. Also remind him to wear his mask correctly. Dinner was just not good. Food took over hour hour to get. Butter (not salted) for rolls should be given unless asked. Pasta dishes were mushy, prime rib (asked for medium) hot rare. Service was slow and we kept asking for beverage refills. Every item needed salt. Lastly as the table was being cleaned behind us he sprayed enough disinfectant to kill the room. Sorry but this place is terrible. I won't go again neither should you. read more

I live in Oak Knoll Estates. I enjoy going to Chippers Friday nights karaoke Saturday. Lots of fun know all the people to go in there. I went to dinner here with my grandmother and I've never had worse service in my life. I, myself, am a waitress and I would never have given the service we received to one of my tables, ever. Our waitress, Claudia, was not polite and did not seem interested in us at all. We waited 10 minutes for her to even come up to greet us, the food took far too long for a simple order of chicken tenders and a burger, which could have been the kitchen's fault but regardless it was sub par. When we were finished, we had to wait at least another 10 minutes for our waitress to bring our check by, meanwhile we had to ask the bus boy for a box. Valentines dinner at the Lakeside dining room was disappointing. The food was good but the service was really slow. In all fairness the other wait staff seemed to be hustling but the other unfortunate guests in our section were constantly looking for and waiting for our waitress. But the most disappointing was the hostess. She greeted us without a smile and half heartedly (perhaps because we had our kids with us) since we were taking grandma out for Valentines with her grandchildren. As we were leaving we asked if she would mind taking a picture of our family with our phone. She made a face, and though she took the photo, her demeanor was just as unsmiling and half hearted as her greeting when we arrived. She provided disappointing bookends to our evening. I can hear absolutely everything in the building I live in. I can honestly hear my neighbors through all the walls, I can smell the neighbors Foods cooking... hear music and conversations. I attempted to eat here yesterday after a round of golf. I sat down at a table and was never greeted by anyone from the restaurant. after about 15 minutes I eventually walked out without eating. This was due to the fact that no one ever came to our table. The menu was horrible and the interior smelled like a moldy basement. There's two restaurants in this country club, I'm giving a 4 star because I can't give 3 and a half for the average between the places. The bottom restaurant (Chippers) is more of a bar feeling, decent enough food, wide variety of liquors, very friendly wait staff that remembers names and faces well. They also serve food to the people by the pool and offer limited outdoor seating. The upstairs is a much nicer restaurant with a menu that's changed and updated often enough to keep it interesting. They offer theme nights like French and Spanish occasionally and have a nice enough decor to justify putting on a pair of heels. To be honest though, the thing I love the best about this restaurant is their Sunday brunch. It's always great and has a very wide selection. They offer mimosas or other drinks but it's not included in the price, which is around $15 or $20 per person, I don't remember off hand even though I've been about 10x. The atmosphere is much older in this restaurant since there's a lot of elderly in the area and it is a club house but in no way brings down my enjoyment while I'm there. I give this "country club" two words: unwelcoming and outdated. My husband and I purchased and completely renovated a property in this community a little more than one year ago. We got our country club membership IDs and food & beverage cards. We were told that the food and beverage card was to be renewed every year. We renewed our food card for 2018. A few days ago we made reservations for a party of 9 for brunch at the Lakeside Restaurant for today. Upon entering the security guard was rude and sarcastic. He smirked and stated that my ID card had expired "over 8 months ago." Then he said he had to "confiscate it" and took it away from me. I explained that I wasn't told about having to renew the IDs. He made no effort to remedy the situation and instead said, "You're not allowed in." I was told a few days earlier that if there was a no show for the brunch reservation we would get charged. I asked the security guard this and he stated that he would speak to the restaurant since we were not allowed in. I stepped out with my party to make other plans but decided to go back in to double check that I wouldn't get charged. I asked the security guard if he had cancelled my reservation and he said, "No but You're not going to get charged." I told him I wanted to double check myself. I proceeded to walk to the Lakeside Restaurant and he shouted, "You're not allowed in the building!" I ignored him and went to speak to the hostess in the restaurant. I don't know who these people think they are!? Have they ever taken some time to look at their establishment? It looks like it has not been renovated since 1985! The inside of the club also smells like mold! They make it sound like they have this exclusive club. My husband and I have gone to Chippers before and it is "ok." That restaurant also smells too. Yet we pay so much money towards the club in our association fees! How about use our funds to renovate the place and get with the times? There is no way to renew the Ids via computer. You have to physically go to the club during these ridiculous hours during the day to obtain a new card. I work during the day and have a private practice in the evening. I don't have time to go pick up a card during their silly scheduled hours. Their methods are archaic and their service is subpar. How about be courteous to the homeowners that pay your salary? I have been eating at this Country Club for years. Right now, the food and service is the best it has been for the last 15 years. The chef has some delicious recipes and I say he makes the best crab cakes I have ever eaten. The Sunday brunch is first-class. On Wednesdays there is a "Theme Night" with well cooked, large portions and dessert included for $14.00. What a deal! Upstairs is fancier, with a pricier menu and more varied menu than Chippers, which is downstairs. Chippers has a more reasonably priced menu with kid's specials and daily specials. The food in both restaurants is always fresh and delicious. Beer is cold and drinks are cheap but well made and not weak or watery. Sometimes Chippers gets crowded and you may wait a few extra minutes for service. Sports are showing on the several televisions. On Friday there is karaoke. Once the order is placed the food comes out fast and hot. This is the more kid-friendly choice. read more

Terrible!!!! I have lived in Oak Knoll for years and paid my dues every year. My 16 year daughter has been using the gym at the country club for about a year now with no issues. This weekend, for the first time, she has been turned away by the security guards twice! This is absolutely absurd. We are members and she had her own membership card. This review is on the Chipper's Sports Bar and Grill. This is actually the second time we've attempted to eat here. The first time, there were no servers to be found (for dinner) and we walked out after about 10 minutes. Tonight we made a request to change a TV to a certain sports game - it took us asking three more times to actually make it happen. We ordered a starter and asked that it came out first, it did not. Not only that but it came cold. We casually asked that it be "thrown in the microwave because they are a little cold," and it actually was. It came back hot on the top layer and soggy. The soup was good, and I would order that again (butternut squash) - but the steak special, was not something that would bring me back. Ordered it well done, and it came soaking wet - as if it was frozen and not thawed properly. No spice or anything on it, really just a piece of meat thrown on the grill for a set amount of time. The waitress was working the room for tips, and during the holiday season I couldnt blame her, but our experience just became aggravating watching her do this... Our experience was not fantastic and unfortunately we will avoid coming back if at all possible. read more

This place is really, really bad. Sunday brunch looks good but everything that is not cooked to order is old, hard, and over cooked from being out for hours. Dinner is a joke, for years the menu said "choice of starch". Now it says you get the monthly vegetable and your choice of potato or rice. The vegetable tastes like it was from last month. Ordered a steak and a third of it was fat. Service is so-so since the tip is automatic and they don't have to work for it. Chippers downstairs is just as bad. Standard bar food and it tastes like it is bought already prepared and just warmed up. The good news is that if you don't live on property you are not allowed to eat here. There are quite a number of televisions sets for sports viewing. Outdoor seating is available in the shade or otherwise and both indoor and outdoor seating offers views of the pool, fountain, and lake. The Lakeview Dining Room offers more upscale dining which includes soup or salad, entrée, dessert, and beverage at great prices. The quality of the food is top-notch, prepared under the direction of an executive chef. The seating offers expansive views of the lake and pool. The holidays from St. Patrick's Day to Passover to Easter to New Year's Eve are celebrated with special event dinners. Wednesday nights are theme nights which alternate monthly and offer a deluxe meal for $13.95. Thursday nights offer a prime rib special to die for with an executive dessert station made to order. Friday and Saturday nights offer dinner specials which alternate by month. There are dinner and dance events and lobster dinners specials offered as well. While the specials are hard to pass up, the regular dinner menu is always available to offer excellent dinner alternatives, except on theme night. Sunday brunches are a spectacular buffet treat with an entire ballroom of high-quality foods including carving stations, pasta stations, an entire table devoted to bagels, lox, and cream cheese, a tiered dessert table, and more food than one could dream of eating. Mimosas and drinks which are extra are offered to the tables on trays. The staff at both restaurants are professional, courteous, attentive, and friendly. They remember your name, your preferences, and offer a unique service and dining experience. I eat at one of these restaurants at least once per week. I believe the restaurants and the country club amenities are the main benefits of owning in the Pine Island Ridge community. read more
