We recently visited The Reserve before the Dirty Honey concert, and it turned out to be the perfect…read morespot for a pre-show drink (convenient walk around the block to Washington's). While the menu is somewhat limited, it's clear they focus on quality over quantity. Whiskey is, of course, the main attraction, but for those looking for something different, their Dry Town Gin or Vodka provide great alternatives. The prices are on the higher side, especially considering the smaller portions, but the convenience and ambiance make it worthwhile. The house salad was a standout--light, fresh, and paired perfectly with a honey vinaigrette that wasn't too heavy, making it an ideal choice for a happy hour snack. If you're looking for a cozy, somewhat upscale place to grab a drink and a bite before heading to an event, this distillery is worth checking out!

We mainly came for a drink or flight, but also added the snack mix; we had 3 bowls to share. We also were given carafes of water. We knew ahead of time that the Honey Smoked Old Fashioneds were quite good, so a few of us ordered them. We watched them being made at the bar next to us and they are able to smoke 4 at once using what looks like a cake stand with glass dome. They were indeed quite tasty. I also tasted a friend's Bourbon Margarita. I'd never heard of this cocktail but was interested. Again, tasty. A few of us purchased bottles of Old Elk to go. They gave golden elk bottle pours as a bonus (really nice).

They make a Green Fairy Root Beer that is incredibly good. I love that this is located in a Garden Shop... it is relaxing and a great place to hang with friends or family.

I feel compelled to share my extremely disappointing experience with The Heart Distillery (DBA High…read moreHops Brewery) and their NFT whiskey program now. In 2021, I purchased two NFTs for an estimated $1000.00 from The Heart Distillery, which promised two 5-gallon barrels of whiskey (bottling some 15-20 bottles) along with the barrels they were aged in. As part of the agreement, purchasers were asked to hold the NFT for two years before claiming their product. After patiently waiting the full two years, I reached out to redeem what was promised. Initially, Zach from The Heart Distillery responded and assured me that they would hold my purchase indefinitely (even though the NFT didn't go as planned for them as he stated) until I was able to make a road trip to pick it up -- a fair and appreciated offer at the time. (emails to confirm) Unfortunately, that's where the communication stopped. Despite multiple follow-up attempts via email to a few different email addresses to confirm a pickup date and time, Zach failed to respond each time. I've now been left completely in the dark, with no way to redeem what I paid for. This isn't just poor customer service -- it feels dishonest and disrespectful to customers who trusted them with a significant upfront investment. I cannot in good conscience recommend The Heart Distillery/High Hops Brewery to anyone. This experience has left me feeling misled and taken advantage of yet Zach continues to do business as if nothing was taken from anyone. If they have any intention of honoring what was sold, I'm still open to resolution (you know where to reach me) -- but based on their lack of response, I won't hold my breath.

Many thanks to the kind owner who graciously gave us a tour on Saturday (when they don't normally…read moredo tours) after our flight was super delayed and we couldn't make our Thursday tour we had scheduled online. It was probably one of the best distillery tours I've been on, he was so knowledgeable about spirits in general, you could tell he was passionate about making a quality whiskey. Not only did he talk extensively on whiskey, but all other spirits - vodka, gin, tequila, bourbon v. rye v. irish v. blended whiskey. Why we can't call something "tequila" in the U.S. because it isn't made in Mexico. It was more of a insightful tour of spirits and then talked about his specific distillery. You can tell how much he cares. The spirit tasting at the end was also insightful - taught us how to smell the whiskey, from top to bottom and how it smells different. Compared the un-barreled to the barreled whiskey, it was just a great distillery tour. Thank you! The tasting room is small, and the location is relatively out of the way of most things, but the bartender was very kind and showed us the MANY menus. If there is a piece of advice I'd give, it's condense your menus so it's not so overwhelming. I was also surprised that such a purist has so many sweet drinks on their menu - pudding, girl scout pairings, etc. Maybe just for Easter and holidays? Give this place a try, much better than NOCO distillery.

I thought I had progressed taste bud wise to a whiskey tasting but as it turns out my cool factor isn't there yet. Instead I settled on a whiskey cocktail that was quite delicious. I had wanted a Kentucky mule but they were out of ginger beer which was a shame so I went for a whiskey sour. Their cocktail was a winter version with some spiced simple syrup that while tasty, I would have preferred to not have the cinnamon notes. I ended up passing my flight over to the hubs and our friend and they were most happy indeed. The staff was really nice and definitely into their craft.
