It looks a little touristy at first glance, but locals clearly still use it, which is always a good sign. I'd been here several times before and always regretted that my accommodation didn't have a kitchen. This time, I made sure to stay at a BnB with one, specifically so I could bring some goodies back and cook for myself. The indoor buildings have plenty of interesting offerings, but I think the outdoor deck area is where you'll find more variety--produce, crafts, food trucks, and more. And on Wednesday evenings during winter, the Night Market takes over, with even more delicious food trucks. No matter how many times I visit, I never get tired of this place. There's always something tempting enough to make me question whether I really need to leave.

That first plate was unforgettable -- perfectly tender with a crisp, light coating that we couldn't stop talking about. Since then, it's been a bit hit or miss with the calamari. My son ordered the kids' calamari on one visit, which wasn't quite the same, and on another visit, we ordered the regular calamari again but the coating was falling off a bit -- still crispy, just not the same magic as that first time. The fish dishes, however, have been consistently excellent. The crispy whole snapper with red curry sauce was hands down my favorite -- beautifully cooked, packed with flavor, and the perfect balance of crispy skin and tender flesh. The whole King George whiting was rich and satisfying, and both the grilled barramundi and baby snapper were fresh and well prepared. Service has been solid on every visit -- friendly, efficient, and attentive without being overbearing. We usually sat outside, which made the experience even better with views of the waterfront and a laid-back, breezy atmosphere. Overall, a great spot for fresh seafood -- when it's on, it's outstanding.

Thankfully I was able to get a table outside (great area for people watching!) I started with the sambal ray and a glass of champagne. The ray was really good and the champagne wasn't bad for just the house option. For the main course I got the seafood claypot and some of the chili bread for dipping as well as a glass of chardonnay. First, the bad part, the main came out less than a minute after my appetizer. I was mildly annoyed by this, but in the end it wasn't a huge deal since the clay pot kept it piping hot until I was ready to eat it anyway. The bread, couscous, seafood and broth were all really good. I did my best to soak up all of the broth with my bread and in the end I had no chance at finishing the huge helping of couscous. All in all it was a really good meal and I would definitely go back.

Food came quickly at the start but then they lost one of our later order submissions so we waited ages for the last batch. If you are on a time constraint (damn you, work!), I would advise to order as much as possible in one go. I must say, this is the first opportunity I've had in Australia to indulge in all you can eat salmon sashimi, so naturally I went nuts and binge ate my way through these beauties. A few of them didn't have the fat completely trimmed off, but overall they were pretty decent quality. I thought the prawn dumplings were hella good, they were freshly steamed and hot (nobody likes warm dumplings!) and on par with my fave yum cha restaurant. The scallops (which were on the 'specials' menu), were special indeed, prepared a bit differently to what I've seen before, and garnished with sliced chilli, definitely worth getting a plate of these. Their grilled eggplant was cooked in a sweet miso sauce (I think?), very soft and tasty. That rounds off my top 4. Dessert options consisted of either sweet red bean soup (not bad) or seasonal fruit. Order both, just coz you can! I was quite impressed with the wide selection of different types of Asian cuisine available. The dining experience was more like a banquet, as they offer a sit down table service and bring the food to you, which is not common for buffets but definitely should be, from a hygiene perspective.
