My husband's direct quote "this is sooo good!" What a fun place - located on the harbor surrounded by yachts and boats. The 40 minute wait was definitely worth it and we kept ourself busy by walking along the docks until our table was ready. Our waitress, Brittany, was friendly and happily explained the dishes to us. We started with conch fritters (to die for!) and I enjoyed mahi mahi with garlic bread and green beans. Mahi mahi flaked nicely and was well seasoned - very tasty. From the get go, the bartender was super friendly and made me feel welcome. Pinchers definitely has a chain restaurant feel with nautical decorations plastered all over the wall, an exhaustive menu, and 2-for-1 drinks all day long. The food menu consists of about every seafood item under the sun, and I ended up ordering the crab cake plate which came with two sides. For me, those were green beans and fresh cut fries. I wasn't expecting much but will say I actually enjoyed my meal! The crab cake was full of lump crab meat and the fries were especially tasty. For the meal and a beer (well, two beers because of the all day "special"), my dinner came to $30 with tip. It was filling and an overall fine experience, hence the "A-OK" rating! read more

This place is so good that, during my week in Florida, I came back multiple times. I tried other local seafood places, and none of them tasted as fresh or offered as big of portions for the price. Every time, the service was also good. I highly recommend the conch fritters as well as the softshell crab. Everything else I had was also good. To start out, I NEVER ask to send food back, or give anyone a hard time. Im also in the service industry so I understand the routine and daily issues. Pinchers was always a place to bring family or guests when they were in town. Ive also brought numerous business guests to Pinchers over the years. Recently, I decided to take my wife and our son out to dinner. Needless to say, I will be looking elsewhere to take guests. Service was non existent, the manager did his rounds before the food was brought out. No refills the entire order, I had to have the bartender nearby refill our drinks. Once the food was brought out, they never checked back. I ordered the Fish and Chips. Simple order, right? Fries were ice cold and the fish was pre-fried and then frozen. I could tell it was baked or reheated when the plate came out scalding hot. I took two bites and I was done. My wife had shrimp scampi. The noodles were mush and the shrimp was cold. My son had the chicken finger basket. They still managed to mess this up. The chicken fingers were pre fried and then frozen. Reheated then served. Easily tell by the ROCK hard breading and cold chicken underneath. Non of us ate but a couple bites and we were done. When we finally saw our server, she asked us if we would like to-go boxes? If none of us ate the food, that's a giveaway that something is wrong. I understand you get what you pay for and with $20-$30 a plate, one would think to expect decent food? Really wanted to try this place as it looked fun. Host service was clunky at best. Called for the 30-minute seating and they basicaly tried to talk us out of it. I explained we could be there in five and their tune changed. We walked their via the boardwalk -- don't do this. Makes getting seated rather a pain. Between the four people working host, they had about 2/3 of a clue. Table service was excellent (thanks, Codi!). Prompt, attentive, professional, and very pleasant. She was helpful with the menu. I ordered a couple of apps and some blue crab steamed in Old Bay. I would not have guessed they used no water for the latter, but that's what it tasted like. I like Old Bay, but HOLY SALT LICK, Batman! The fried apps were basic fried fish fare (even though they looked like more on the menu) and the dipping sauce looked much better on paper. Wife had a chicken caesar and all went well. Place is loud and it got croweded (Saturday night), particularly by rude, clueless vacationers from next door who clogged the walkway between the bar and our seat. They did not pick up on the social cues of EVERY member of the waitstaff saying, "'Scuse me." The bartender (who seemed to also be a manager) did not help matters. He could have easily asked them to pull up a bit, but did not. Pro tip: If you get charged extra for your flight, you probably need to be aware of the space you're occupying in a busy restaurant walkway... just sayin'. Skipped dessert because we were WAY full, but the key lime pie looked pretty epic. Beer selection was meh, but the sangria was tasty.
