Today's Special: Chicken Ginger Stir Fry! Also included a cup of todays soup.

Pimon Thai is Lafayette's original Thai Restaurant! It used to be located down the street in a much smaller place. However, it has been located in its current spacious quarters for a number of years now. This comfortable establishment has plenty of space to serve its customers! I've been eating lunch there for a couple of decades. The menu is extensive, and includes your favorite Thai dishes, as well as many you might want to try. However, I often just go in and order the Lunch Special. This is a regular menu item, that often includes a cup of soup and/or an appetizer along with it. Great way to try different popular dishes, and takes the effort out of the decision process. Last time I visited, Ginger Chicken was the dish of the day... I'm also very fond of their noodle dishes. I think that many people overlook the excellent Asian noodle choices. I'm fond of the clear noodles in Thai cuisine. Broad noodles are also nice. A note on the spice levels, which they will ask you about. When you order something hot or spicy, they aren't playing around. You could end up red and sweaty! I find medium is plenty for me, mild is probably best for those who do not enjoy the burn!

One of my favorite Thai places to go in Lafayette, food is always good, although sometimes service is slow, but it will be worth it! We had the following: -Crispy Spring Roll -Fried Calamari -Crabmeat Fried Rice -Thai Ribeye - the sauce on the ribeye is very herby, and pack with flavor! -Roast Duck over Fried Rice - Tender roast duck topped with a savory glaze, served over Thai fried rice - the roasted duck was pretty decent, especially since you cannot find roasted duck anywhere in Lafayette Good place for some Thai food!

We hired Pimon Thai to cater a box meal for a school and they did an incredible job. The kids loved the fried rice with broccoli it was a big hit for little ones. 95 boxes perfectly done and still warm when served. MONTRE is very attentive and food is incredible.

This is the first time I've been here for lunch. I've always come for dinner. They have a separate lunch menu and they show the choice of meat or seafood and state that you may choose catfish, flounder, and one other fish, so I ordered catfish. About 5 minutes later the waitress came back to the table and informed me that they don't serve fish for lunch - so why is it on the menu. I would have chosen a different restaurant if I had know this as I had checked the menu on-line first. My mother had the soup and egg roll that came with the lunch (I don't eat meat and both items had meat in them) both the soup and egg roll were barely warm. We both got the green curry, Mom's with shrimp and mine with scallops. Both dishes were hot, seasoned correctly and were very good. Both the shrimp and scallops were very good, but still disappointed about the catfish - as it would have been even better.

I decided to give them a try under the new name. It was no different. The positives is that everyone is pretty friendly and the place is clean and orderly. I will say that both times i went I tried the buffet so maybe the food is tastier from the menu. I tried several different items on the buffet and just found that it really lacked flavor. The best item was the fresh spring rolls but I was disappointed that they don't have that good peanut butter sauce to go with them. Instead, they offer what seems to be a sweet & sour sauce from a jar. The noodles were dry and bland. Both of the curry sauces were watery and didn't have much flavor at all. The meats (chicken & beef) are the typical Chinese buffet style meats instead of pieces of chicken that look like chicken. The cucumber soup and the coconut soup are both savory (just fyi). The mango sticky rice with coconut sauce dessert-not a fan at all and coconut and mango are two of my favorite flavors. Overall, it was a decent experience; no regrets for giving it a try. But, I definitely won't go again. Sad, too, because I REALLY wanted to love it!

This place is not wonderful, but is clean, popular, & conveniently located for us. Parking is in the slightly peculiar private lot, a few shaded places. May not be open evenings. Check before going. Cleanliness- 2 (20%) The tables on the upside were clean, but if you look anywhere else beware. Dust accumulated for at least a month, does not elicit confidence in eating there. Service- 3 (25%) Giving the service a 3 is being generous- but the waitstaff consisted of two teens and a ten year old boy so I'm inclined to give them a break. I had to wait 5 minutes before anyone helped me. The 10 year old boy was engulfed in a computer game and didn't acknowledge my presence though no one else was there. A 14 year old boy came out eventually and was very pleasant. He took my order to go, telling me it would be at least a 30 minute wait for take-out. An order time of 30 minutes seems a bit long for take-out, but the food came out at the appointed time- as promised. Food- 2 (35%) We ordered the Pad Thai, Basil Rolls, and Yellow Curry Shrimp. Nothing special, temperature okay. Nowhere near what a Thai restaurant should be on flavor. Value- 2 (10%) The cost was $10-14.95 on entrees. Didn't really have it going on for Thai in my book, so the value is not there.
