We love Dr. Sofie. She's been seeing my kids since they were teeny tiny. She is so kind and warm and great with both children and teens. We love her office staff and hygienist team. Everyone who works here is a delight. My sons have gotten quite a few procedures here and I always feel 100% comfortable with the care and necessity of the procedures. Our first visit seem to go pretty well after that for follow up she insisted that I brought my kids one by one would not do a joint appointment for office would not say anything other than that's what they were told. I asked if I could speak to her directly regarding to find out what is going on And was told she doesn't speak to patients over the phone. When I offered to come in and figure this out, I was told she won't meet with me I thought our first appointment went well. First off; I love and value our healthcare worker's time. Unfortunately the service has changed and now it's all about the money. I missed an appointment and the fee was $200.00 (Pima Pediatics Dentistry) out of pocket (loyal client 8years) I'm not sure what world they Iive in but some times we can't control the inevitable( I called 24 hours after the appointment and they didn't care what reason was for). They made sure they are good at contacting one for the fee that may be applied if not paid asap, hand written with a sharpie btw on the invoice. Save your self the headache, and hard earned money! We pay money for services and providers to fingers crossed not treat us like a number ( used my own private insurance) I've also had members from Tucson mom groups claim their stories and all I can say is ALWAYS ALWAYS GET A SECOND PAIR OF EYES ON YOUR CHILDS DENTAL WORK THAT ANY DENTIST MAY CLAIM IS NEEDED. Dr. Sophie and all of the staff made sure to make my little boy and I feel so welcome. I was worried my seven year old might have a hard time with a new office but he left so happy and confident. He came in slightly nervous but soon was made to feel right at home. He keeps telling family and friends about his experience there and how nice they all were. My husband took my son in for his dentist visit and I was informed he was charged a "co-pay." Based on the dental plan he has, there should not have been a charge. So, I did some investigating and come to find out, they are being sneaky and charging all patients a fee to cover their PPE. They lied, they were dishonest and were not upfront. I truly like the dentist.. Dr. Baird is fantastic, BUT I do not agree with these non-advertised/hidden fees. In addition, I asked what would happen if the patient was not able to afford the fee, and I was told that they would cancel the appointment and reschedule for a later date, months later. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. read more

I have two children that have gone to see Dr. Sophie. I felt the front staff was not friendly. In fact, the second time I went in I stood in the front for several minutes and was not even acknowledged that I was there. Another patient walked in and was helped before me. I finally had to ask if they checked in my son. It appears the office is short on staff. The person at the front desk answers the phones and checks people in. I felt rushed once I got to see the doctor. She did not explain to me exactly what they were going to do with my son. The dental hygienist was great! She was very helpful with my son. I was highly recommended to this office, but I can't say I was impressed. I actually switched my kids from my dentist to a pediatric dentist thinking it might be better for them. read more

I took my son, who is somewhat special needs. Dr. Sophie would not even say hi to my son. She told me in front of him to find him a new dentist because I had switched my other two who did not like her or her staff. The staff is snooty and rude and when the dentist looked at my son's teeth she never even spoke to him other than telling him he should go to whatever dentist his siblings were at. My son requested to go here because he is very particular with who he will deal with but she was so cold that when I walked out I told my child's uncle what kind of woman she was being. The receptionist heard me and called me back to call out my also rude behavior, to which I apologized and explained my son wanting to see her because she was usually warm. At this point she tells me she will not change her behavior and if I want an appt I will have to call daily to schedule since I was late they marked his appointment as a no show. After trying to still make an appointment and clear all of this up and having g Dr. Sophie tell me that was "her house" and her behavior would not change I looked at her, let her know what I thought and left it my son. My son was so upset because he didn't understand why his dentist was like that to him and begged me not to make him go back. I've never met a more unprofessional dental office and Dr. Sophie shouldn't be working with children of she lacks basic compassion, especially for a special.needs child. read more
