I have been a client of Sekia for the last 15+ years. I can not express how much I appreciate her attention to providing excellent customer service but most importantly her care for healthy hair. Her assistants are always friendly and professional. The scheduling app is very user friendly and is designed to meet any customers needs. I highly recommend Sekia for all hair lengths and styles. I don't normally write reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience. I've been a regular customer at the this salon for over 2 years. However, due to a recent experience, in which I received poor customer service, unprofessional attitude and a lack of empathy, I will not return to the salon. Although there are features of this establishment I enjoyed, my mistreatment was so unacceptable that I will not return to this salon and give it only 2 stars. I have been natural for over 3 years, and recently had Senegalese twists for 1 month exactly. My ordeal began when I arrived to have my usual style of a shampoo, blow out and flat iron. I've been natural for 3 years and wanted a change as a result I visited a different salon to obtain Senegalese Twists. After a month with the twists, I wanted to go back to the natural style I previously had. What I originally like about this salon was that appointments are scheduled online via the Pilus Salon app, and it is very convenient. Additionally, the prices for various styles are reasonable, also a deep conditioning is provided during every visit without an extra fee. The location, appointment app, deep conditioning, stylist, and assistant (Ashleigh) are the reasons I loved coming to the salon every 2 weeks. I had an appointment on September 2nd at 11:45 am, however; I arrived early at 11:10 to avoid being in the salon for a long period of time. Normally, I'm in and out within 2 hours max depending upon Sekia's schedule. On this particular day Sekia was extremely busy. Ashleigh washed and blow dried my hair around 1:00 pm. Around 4:00pm, I was still waiting to sit in Sekia's chair to be serviced. At this point, I went to Sekia in the back of the salon and asked "How long will it be before it is my turn?" The reason I asked is because I had to pick up my children or make arrangements for them to be picked up. I had no idea I would be in the salon past 4:00 pm. Before I could relay the part about picking up my kids. Sekia was upset I questioned her about the time. Her response was "When I am done! I have things to do, her client had things to do, and she had things to do as well". I informed her about picking up my children at this point and stated I will pay her for the wash/blow dry. I went to the bathroom, and she was ready by the time I came out. I made arrangements for my children to be picked up. Sekia proceeded to trim my ends ( I did not ask for a trim or cut), and flat iron and style my hair. The next day once my curls dropped, I noticed my hair was extremely short. I called Sekia and inquired if my ends were severely damaged. Her response is "She trimmed where it needed to be trimmed and did not perform a cut, additionally when I had the Senegalese twists maybe the stylist cut my hair when she cleaned up the twists or burned my hair". SN: The Senegalese twists were waist length, burned at the ends, and I asked the stylist not to cut my hair at all to clean up the twists. I followed all precautions to ensure my hair would not be damaged as a result of the twists. In conclusion, I've posted 3 pictures of my hair (2 pictures exactly 1 year apart, and the most recent picture which displays my new length). Sekia has been trimming my hair for over 2 years and my hair has never been this short. In my opinion, I am convinced that my hair is cut out of spite because I questioned Sekia about the time it would take for it to be my turn in her chair. Moreover, she did not discuss with me at all that my hair was damaged nor the fact that she would be cutting off more than 2 inches. read more

I have been receiving quality hair care from Sekia for a number of years. I'm very particular about my hair and she gets it right each and every time. Im able to maintain my natural curls, while also enjoying straight looks whenever I please without risking damage to my hair. Sekia is a straight shooter who wants what is best for you and your hair. If you are not looking for HEALTHY hair, this may not be the best place for you. But if you want a stylist who cares about your hair, will tell you the truth, and guide you towards the best decision... look no further! I've been a client of Sekia's for nearly 20 years and her service has been superb. Not only is she very knowledgeable about hair care, she has always done a spectacular job on styling my hair and ensuring that it stays healthy. I don't ever come with a style in mind, I just trust her to do whatever she wants from cuts, color to styles. I'm always satisfied so there's never a reason to see my hair in a mirror after she finishes. I love the fact that I'm never getting out of her chair with the same look week after week!!
