Wow!! The falafels here are amazingly good!! An excellent choice for a takeaway lunch. I'm usually not a huge fan of falafels, as the ones I've had are hard, dry and crumbly.
At Pilpel, they've got their secret family recipe locked down, and they've got it right! The falafels are fresh, hot and crispy on the outside, flavourful and moist on the inside. I think they have couscous mixed in there, along with some pesto, maybe parsley??
In any case, it's delicious! You can have it served up in a wrap (4 pieces), or deconstructed in a bowl (6 pieces) with assorted salads and hummous, and pita on the side. I love my veggies, but I'm personally not a huge fan of their salads, which is a bit of a downfall. They were mainly bland and lacked flavor. If you wanted other items like roasted eggplant or guacamole, its an extra 50p. I notice that an extra 4 pieces of falafel is £1 (I think?!). I'm not sure if you can order extra if you didn't order an actual wrap or salad box. But if I can just order falafels on their own, that's what I would do next time.
The people working here are super friendly and even pass out fresh falafels to snack on while you wait. Now that's service! read more
