I have attempted to discuss what happened with them, only to be told that the owner is out of town and will contact me on August 27. Therefore, given the urgency of getting dogs tested for whatever was spreading around that place, if you boarded at The Lodge for Pampered Pets recently, they were closed for cleaning from August 14-20th due to an outbreak of what they believe to be canine cough, but may be something else. This information was sent out via email on July 29 for some clients, but not to us. In fact, they sent us an email confirming our reservation from August 3-8 that made no reference to an outbreak at the facility, just in the "area", and made no mention of the closure in less than a week after our dogs were there. We received information about the closure on the 12th along with a statement from a vet stating that it isn't a serious disease. The point is that they knew there was an outbreak before July 29, made the decision that it was serious and they needed to shut down and clean, and yet didn't close their facility until august 14th. Additionally, they didn't mention the closure or reasoning to people boarding in the weeks following the decision to close and the closure.

We had to ring the bell and wait to be let in, ok no biggie. There was a very large dog in the front in a gated area that would not stop barking, so it was hard to hear what the girl was saying and it scared my pups. There wasn't any prices posted anywhere, I had no idea what came with the service I was paying for. I had to ask tons of questions and the girl seemed out of it- she said she had a headache. So, I pick my two pups up and they looked clean. I wasn't sure they even did a cut, maybe a trim?? I am completely annoyed that's it's 12 days later and they look 5 days over due for a cut! 70.00 for two small dogs (one is 7 lbs/ one is 11 lbs) and I'm sure all they did was bathe them and cut down nails- which I stressed. I also asked if the anal glands would be done she said yes, not sure that was done either. We brought our almost 12 year old, 80lb chocolate lab for the self serve dog wash and he was very comfortable considering he does not like baths! The water was a great, warm temperature, unlike some other self serve washes where the water is too cold and our dogs shake from the chilliness. The staff supplied us with the shampoo as well as conditioner and face wash. We also really appreciated that the staff did not pressure us into using the blow dryer on our dog after we washed him, they offered it, but they did not try to force us once we said no (as other places have in my experience). Anyways, this is a great little self-serve dog wash and I can't speak for the grooming services, but the staff seemed to know what they were doing and genuinely care for dogs for I'm sure the grooming here is wonderful too!

He was not handling things well. The staff was very accommodating with helping us quickly get him to a room where he could be away from the other dogs in the lobby and quickly trim his nails. They were calm and patient and I would highly recommend this business to anyone looking for a place to bring their anxious dog.

We get our cat Gamma an all over hair cut down to about one half to one quarter inch about once a…read moreyear. He is a medium long hair cat that can be cranky, uncooperative and does not like to be brushed. This is probably a lot to do with the fact that his coat is very think and tends to get tangled. Gamma loves it after he has this treatment though. He seems to gain energy from getting rid of all that think fur. While we have a home in Grand Blanc, we travel a lot and have used different cat groomers around this U.S. with varying results. Some people have really struggled with him, others have managed him well. Michelle at Ruffly was awesome. She was able to handle Gamma keep him calm and actually had a good time with him. When I picked him up, Gamma was not stressed, and his cut was just about perfect. She clipped his nails, bathed and trimmed his hair. None of these things will he typically tolerate without a major struggle. On top of that, her rate was very reasonable. Michelle is now our favorite cat groomer.

THE OLDER LADY WHO WORKS HERE IS RUDE & DOESNT KNOW HOW TO GROOM DOGS…read more I am new in town and was looking for a groomers nearby, I had a very nice phone call with the gentleman who I scheduled the appointment with. I was super excited. Then today, the appointment day, I called ahead of time to make sure this was the correct location since the location on apple maps was on main street rather than Frontier town. I let the lady know I had an appointment at 11:30 and my name and that I wanted to make sure that this was the correct place. I was IMMEDIATELY met with attitude and rudeness. I was immediately uncomfortable and was shocked since the gentleman before was such a nice guy! Then I go into the appointment, the older lady who spoke to me on the phone, she asks me what are you looking for him to get done today? I said I'm not sure this is my first time making an appointment for my dog (i only used to just drop my parents dogs off and pick them up at their groomers kuts and kisses) then she proceeds to tell me that they don't cut Pomeranians hair because it damages their hair....(my parents have a Pomeranian and gets hair cuts all the time with no issue ) so I'm like okay and they take him back. 20 or so minutes later they call saying he is ready to pick up. When I pick up my dog, I didn't notice at first but when I got to the car she did cut his hair and it was TERRIBLY DONE!! She literally said they don't cut Pomeranians hair??? AND ITS CUT UNEVEN !! It's not even cut symmetrically, his left side of his face is longer than the left and his back legs are still raggly when at a proper groomer it would be straight and precise as with Kuts & Kisses. I am autistic so confrontation is not my strong suit so I just paid and still gave her a tip and left. I have never seen such unprofessionalism, lack of information for grooming services & have never seen such a bad haircut on a dog ever. Kuts & Kisses does an amazing job on my mom's Pomeranian, chihuahua and shetland sheepdog so I know what a good groom looks like and this was just done so so poorly. I wouldn't recommend the older lady cutting your dog's hair if you decide to go here. If she didn't work there I would go back because the guy who runs the place is very nice, and would love to see how he grooms but her behavior made me uncomfortable and never want to go back.
