I had only taken one other equipment Pilates class before attending Studio86 and I was not sure…read morewhat to expect. I enjoyed every minute of my time here. The Pilates Reformer class was challenging, but not in a way that makes you feel overwhelmed or defeated. Heather is a fantastic instructor. She gives clear and motivating instruction. I really appreciated how she gives form and technique corrections, so you know that you are doing the exercises safely and correctly. The class size was small which I preferred as a beginner. I am already looking forward to my next class here!

Oh my God I just came back and relived my childhood yesterday with the jump fitness class. Whoever…read morethought jumping on a trampoline could not only be fun childhood memory but also a workout at the same time? Genius idea! That's where Studio 86 comes along. They had just opened last year in March right as the pandemic hit so their business didn't get a lot of attention until just recently with the jump fitness class. The instructor had come to Pretentious Barrel House to do the class. I cannot wait to come back to Studio 86 not only do they have the jump fitness classes but also the pilates reformers. Pay them some love and support local fitness businesses as they could definitely use the love now. Plus you won't regret it, you might even relive your fun childhood days on the trampoline!!

I love Lagree House for a good butt-kicking. I feel like a little of this studio goes a long way…read morewith seeing transformation and results. Things I love: - Big spacious airy studio, especially during covid-19 times. You have space between you and the person next to you. - Many of the instructors are GREAT, motivating and have fun. Shout out to Quintin and Siobhan. - The music is typically fast-paced and fits right in with the motivation - The workout is one of a kind, good for people with bad knees or joints, and come with big results Things that I don't love: - The pricing is steep. There's no way around it. - Some of the instructors could do a bit better with repeating instructions in a clear, slow way. Yes, sometimes it takes me 3 times to understand what you just said since I'm focused on form. I also wonder if people with certain processing disorders have a really hard time understanding. I really appreciate the instructors who show the move along with talking it through and many of the instructors do a good job of repeating over and over, which is helpful. My biggest gripe is that they have NO water available unless you pay for a water bottle. For one, I don't think this is fair to someone who might be pinching pennies and doesn't want to spend the money if they don't have to. Secondly, the green/recycler side of me is dying inside at this thought. I just want to refill my reusable water bottle and have no way to do it unless I buy a disposable one. Sucks! I mentioned this to the owner one time (nicely, of course) and she said they'd have to put in a water line. So... do it? It's a workout studio that gets really hot in the summer months especially. Access to free water is necessary, no question about it. *getting off my green soap box now* But alas, I continue to come and love how I feel afterward (during, not so much... ). It's a good workout and with great music and teachers.

Loved this studio for reformer class! Def do a foundations class first so you understand how to use…read moreit before feeling lost the whole class. I've taken 3 instructors and they are all great.

Body Pure Pilates is easily the best Pilates studio in Columbus. I live in Chicago, but travel to…read moremy hometown in New Albany several times throughout the year. Each time I go home, I take several classes at Body Pure. I love it! It's a Classical Pilates studio which means that the style they teach is derived right from Joseph Pilates repertoire. Not to disregard contemporary or fusion studios, but Classical is REAL pilates; which in my opinion, comes with the most physical and mental challenges for those that seek a mind-body connection and for those that want fitness results. The studio has the best machines in the pilates industry - Gratz. Pilates enthusiasts know that this is important because dimensions on the apparatus matter; and the reformer should be hard to bring all of the way home and the springs should be hard in order to really push your workout and elongate your body. The owner and teacher extraordinaire, Frankie Clancy, really prides herself on having the best of the best at her studio. It shows. The teachers are also a big reason that this studio is so great. There is a volume and variety of teachers to work with so you can get a private or join a multitude of group classes at your connivence. Each teacher covers all apparatus in their sessions, too. It's not just reformer. You will work on the Tower, Cadillac, Chair, etc. which is the perfect experience as a student: you get to cover a lot - and the time just flies by! It is truly as Frankie says: "Welcome to the best hour of your day." I highly recommend taking lessons at this studio. Try out a Mixed Mat class or get a bundle of private's to build up your acumen and then join a weekly group class. It's a fun place to go and your body will thank you for it.

This studio has been a game changer for me, my flexibility, balance, and confidence. Everyone at this studio is so kind and welcoming and lovely. I've been able to get back to my regular gym with confidence and the Pilates sessions add to my ability to participate in regular things like hiking and walking for miles without worry. I've learned so much about my small muscles and the difference a lot of focus can make on success. Frankie is very patient with me as I grow into my love for Pilates. This is a commitment I'm making for myself for life - because it's that good. LOVE this studio!
