I didn't get a tour nor was getting on and off the bike explained well. No one asked for an ID (nor was i informed of costs or fees (i.e., canceling classes with less than 24 hour notice = $10 fee)). No Sunday classes. The app needs development! The pros: Everything else. I love the instructors (inspirational!) , the playlists (fun but explicit), the encouragement and support of the other members... all of it. Stats are updated in real time on the monitor and allow you to see how hard you pushed yourself via the app following the class. Despite the concerning start, I did sign up for a membership and I love attending CycleBar. With a few tweaks, other (potential) members will feel more at ease, increasing sign ups!

At Zen, the instructors are so fun, motivating, and you have a new workout every class! The staff are so welcoming and I love that they acknowledge my name when I walk in. It really makes me feel like I'm part of the family and cared about. I have to say the challenges really keep me active and working hard throughout the year. If they didn't have them every couple of months I would not be as consistent or motivated to go all the time. I also LOVE they have showers. Before coming to Zen a couple of studios I tried out did not offer that, which didn't give me the option to take morning classes right before work. If I worked from home it wouldn't be as big of a deal, but having to go into the office every day I love I have the option to work out before or after work. 10/10 love this place and everyone I've met there!

Everything from spin, sculpt, and yoga, etc. there's plenty to pick from including some "express" 30 minute classes for those with a tighter schedule. The facility is very well kept and has large private showers available. The instructors are the best part of the experience! They are incredibly personable and bring a great energy to every class. The studio is always doing deals and challenges so I recommend looking into what their options are!

It was my first time in the studio and nobody acknowledged me until I said something. After that, my bike didn't work. The monitor wouldn't turn on and when we had songs out of the saddle, the bike made a click sound each time, which made me nervous to stand. Turns out, several of their bikes are broken. Why can't they mark them out of order so riders don't end up picking them? As much as I'd want to come back for another ride at this location, I don't want to play the guessing game of whether or not my bike will be functioning. That experience alone was extremely disappointing. Plus several people left in the middle of the class because of this situation.

When all of my friends from PA school left Memphis after graduating, I wasn't alone because I had my CycleBar community. I met some of my very best friends and chosen family here, and I can't even remember what life was like without them. Everyday, I look forward to riding with the BEST instructors (I've been to CycleBars in other states) and the BEST riders. I posted a Facebook comment on the gym's FB page congratulating one of the instructors who was graduating and moving away. I actually congratulated that individual on his accomplishment, but I also commented that maybe we would see more classes offered taught by one of their most loved instructors. Fairly immediately, my comment was liked by others (positive feedback), but then quickly deleted by management. The following day, I sent a private message. The owner (Butch) contacted me and asked that I give him a call. Apparently, I didn't phone him quick enough, so then I got a threatening message saying my membership would be terminated if I didn't call by the end of the week. I'VE ATTACHED SCREENSHOTS OF THE CONVERSATION. He is a coward who doesn't accept CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. He is unable to separate his emotions from running a business. He flat out refuses to put a suggestion box in the gym for anonymous feedback. Instead, he claims to rather have feedback given to him verbally or in-person. As you can imagine, not everyone is comfortable providing feedback in that manner. Take it from me though, if you want to work out at this gym, don't provide any feedback unless it's 100% positive. Anything less and he'll cancel your membership. ‍ I've also been told he canceled someone's membership for commenting that the new hire instructors were not qualified. On the subject of instructors, there are only 2 instructors worth going to and they are very rarely scheduled (I'm happy to provide their names if you want to contact me). The rest are simply former kickboxing members turned instructor who have no real qualifications and terrible music selection for a high-intensity workout! Try the Quince or midtown locations -- more qualified instructors and better management who actually LISTEN to their members!
