My son loves getting his haircut here. Valerie is the absolute best! She is interactive with my son and makes him feel comfortable the entire time. I love the different vehicles available for my son to sit in. He finds it fun each time getting to pick which one he gets his haircut in. They play Disney movies to keep the kids entertained. And afterwards he gets a lollipop, animal crackers, and a small toy from the treasure box. His haircut turns out great too! read more

We love this place, our son is 2.5 now and we've had 4 cuts already and we're always in awe of how amazing of a job they do. Mary is our go-to stylist and she's INCREDIBLE - super kind, engaging with us and our son and obviously great at what she does. Our son has had days where he's calm and others when he's fussed the whole time and she stays calm and does a great job no matter what. Everything from the play area to the car chairs to tablets with YouTube that they make available to entertain the kids look clean and they will clean again if you ask. They include a lock of hair and a picture with your first cut! Price is well worth the price, every barbershop doesn't have the patience for the unpredictability of a little kid. 10/10! read more

Jasmine is super good at what she does! She's great with kids and gave my son the best haircut he's had yet! Love that they have toys for the other siblings to play with as they wait. Definitely plan to come back for future haircuts! read more

The atmosphere when you first walk in is very upscale. The overall environment is very clean and is very kid friendly. The staff was friendly. The only hold back was that we were not aware of the make appointment only process. However, they were able to fit in pretty quickly And our hairdresser did an amazing job with our difficult child. Some people complain about the price but I personally think it's a deal because they know how to cut children's hair professionally even with a difficult child. We will definitely be returning and we would definitely highly recommend them. read more

I was referred to this location from a close friend of mine, whose child did their first hair cut experience here. They have a first haircut package that includes a lock of hair, a photo of their haircut, included with a card with their name on it. The waiting area has a tv with a movie on, and some toys. The hair dresser came in and introduced herself, and interacted with my son so he was acquainted with her before he sat in the chair. Some of the seats are specially designed such as a train, plane, or racecar for the smaller kids, while the The older kids have a traditional seat. While in my sons train, there were toys available so he was able to play, and the same movie on in front of him that was in the waiting room. The hair dresser was very interactive with my son during the whole process to keep him calm and keep him smiling. The process didn't take long at all and before you know it, my son was looking like a big kid with his new haircut! I was very impressed with the process, and I will return for his future haircuts! There are hair accessories, hair products, and toys for sale that are available for purchase! read more

The parking lot is difficult to get in and out of its in a busy shopping center but that's ok.Our main goal was to get my son's hair cut where he feels comfortable! I love the ambiance because it's strictly geared towards kids and my son absolutely loves to go! We found Maria!! And let me tell you she is truly a gem! She was so sweet and patient with our son she gave him toys to play with to keep him calm and she explained e everything to Jim as she was doing it! We just asked for a simple biys haircut and she did an amazing job cutting his hair and he didn't cry once! His hair had grown out because we have had a hard time finding somewhere to go until we found this location! Since he has Autism! I took my son here last week as we have tried several times to get his haircut and it has never turned out so well. I figured this place specializes in squirmy toddlers so if they can't cut his hair then no one can. First, I made an appointment online a few days in advance. It was not difficult to get an appointment, but they are done in 15 minute increments. This means they book the appointments close together so if you are even a few minutes late you will have to wait. We had an appointment at 4:15. I got to the parking lot at 4:19 which considering I-4 and Sand Lake I thought was pretty good, but parking here was extremely limited and so by the time I found parking and got the toddler inside it was 4:25 so we had to wait. It was my fault and I had called ahead to let them know I was running behind. They were really nice and assured me they would fit me in as soon as possible, but traffic and parking are good things to keep in mind when you make an appointment as both can be difficult. They had a waiting room with a train table, coloring table, books and cartoons. Woo Hoo! That was helpful. After about 20 minutes they called my son's name and let him pick his car. He chose the police car. They also had a race car, train, and airplane. So let me tell you the brilliance of this place. He's in a police car with a steering wheel. They have magnets for him to place on the car and the steering wheel. They have animal crackers. They have Disney cartoons. For the electric razor to trim the edges of his hair our stylist brought out a little massager that buzzed and it lit up and he didn't even notice her buzzing around his ears, an action that caused a full on melt down during his first haircut. Amazing. This place knows how to distract a wiggly toddler for a haircut. They've got it down to an art. They even let him pick a toy from a toy chest at the end! His haircut was $19.95, but we got a $1 off by checking in on Yelp! It's maybe a little high, but I've tried twice to get his hair cut at a regular salon and he threw such a fit that basically they were able to cut a little off around his ears or face so he could see and didn't charge me because they didn't feel like they were able to do anything. Here, he got a full on haircut. I'm not completely satisfied with the haircut he got. It looks good almost everywhere, except my son has the worst cowlick ever and I warned the stylist about it. I asked for her to leave that part long so that it lays flat and cut the back, sides, and front. She gave him a traditional little boys haircut which would be adorable if he didn't have said cowlick. As it is he looks like he has a rooster comb at the back of his head and I try to put hair gel on it, but again squirmy toddler. So I will go back since they did such a good job keeping him calm and entertained, but I will have to be more vocal about his cowlick. read more

As a first time mom getting my almost 2-year-old his first haircut, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Calveisha was amazing and my son was perfectly content the whole time! I was so nervous that he would hate it but she did a great job and he didn't cry at all. I'd recommend pigtails and crewcuts to anyone with a toddler. read more

I went there for a first haircut bundle yesterday and our stylist huffed and puffed whenever my 2 year old moved her head, on top of not being able to give her a proper haircut... all I asked for was for a long bang right above her eyes and we were given a mess of crocked lines, Chi was just terrible! The reason I'm giving 2stars is because Jasmine was able to step in and try fixing that mess, but unfortunately too much had already been removed. Once her hair dried her bangs are 11/2 shorter than I requested. Never going back!!! read more

Super nice and great haircuts for kids. Been coming to this place for yrs and will continue! Very cool seating for kids airplanes etc

Salon specializing in children's haircut can quite be profitable but it takes certain people to know how to not just do their job right but to also know how to deal with their specific clientele. My child had his first haircut ever a few days ago and as expected he was scared and overwhelmed. He sat thru the entire process but was crying most of the time and the team specially Amber our stylist was very patient with him. Will certainly be back and recommend her and this place along with the other stylists and staff to others. read more

This is a terrific place for young children to get a haircut. The fire truck seat was a perfect choice for my grandson. At thirteen months old he was excited as he sat down and grabbed the wheel. The stylist was amazing with him. She introduced the water bottle in a fun playful way, was animated and patient. I was super surprised by her skill considering the fact that thirteen month old babies do not sit still. The cost is $18.95 before tip. I feel that this is pretty reasonable considering the enjoyment that my grandson experienced during his visit. The only thing that dampened our experience was the attitude of the cashier. As soon as we walked in she made a disparaging comment about my grandson. Since my grandson is absolutely perfect in every way I took her comment as an attempt at humor. I considered her comment for a moment and fought back a response. I was there to enjoy my grandson and not to have a teachable moment with an employee. read more

Calveisha was AMAZING!!!!! We brought our 2 year old son in for his very first haircut. The entire staff was so friendly and did everything to make sure our boy was smiling and was not freaking out. I would recommend this place to ANYONE who is looking not just for a first haircut but any haircut for a child. read more

Second time here. Wow what a difference with my son then his first time. Prob a shock. AMBER was great and fast. Did a great cut to my son. He behaved even though he didn't want the protector on. Little hair never hurt no one. It helps and hurts to have toys for sale but it distracted him enough to get the cut without any tears or yelling. Worth the $8.50 to keep my son busy. Great environment and friendly staff. Will see you soon Follow up - my son 4 months later was not feeling it but Amber was great. Again. Patient. Got it done despite my toddler yelling and screaming ; now you know why they charge $17.95. Worth it. read more

We always have a wonderful experience here. The shoppe is extremely toddler friendly with toys, fun pretend play chairs, cartoons on the screen and the ladies are always delightful and pleasant. We usually make an appointment and everyone is very timely. There's a large waiting room in the back with a train set table and structured activities to keep the little ones busy. After each appointment the kids get to pick a little toy from the toy chest! Our son received his very 1st haircut here and they have certificate packages that includes a picture and lock of hair in bag. Which is such a cute memorabilia! We've been coming ever since! read more

Professionalism - poor, no one wants to take the time to talk to you or help you. They don't want anything to do with customer service. All they want is for you to make an appointment online then come in a pay. They want nothing to do with talking to customers, they even say this in their phone message. They seem too busy to take time and talk to people. Unfortunately, I will be looking for another provider. read more

My step daughter had a birthday party at Pigtails & Crewcuts recently and the staff did a wonderful job. Everything ran smoothly and was organized. The girls at the party had a great time getting dolled up and they loved the dance party at the end. Everything was included. All we had to do was show up. It was a shorter party, only 1.5 hours, sometimes shorter can be good. It was also very pricey. But in the end, you get to enjoy the party with your child instead of running around like crazy playing hostess and wrangling children. It looked like loads of fun, everyone was happy. I wish I could have a party like that. read more

Everyone here is so friendly and great with kids! Expect a little wait because it's always busy! Decor is very cute, including the chairs. They always have kids shows/movies playing to keep them occupied while their hair is being cut. Found out today that they are partners with locks of live and wigs for kids so if you donate, the cut is free! And they handle the mailing of the hair! We will continue to be patrons of this establishment... love it! read more

I can really say i love this place. I was in the neighborhood just this Wednesday and I've been wanting to get my sons haircut but I've been so nervous since he doesn't really behave so well. So then i found this place:)..... let me just say it's AMAZING (not being dramatic) my stylist chantel was really good with helping me keep him relaxed and so was the young lady at the front desk who came with bubbles and literally had him stay shut after (Good idea with the bubbles). Everyone was really helpful and had really bubbly personalities. I thought it was so cute when the receptionist told me "Thank you for coming in, Happy Mother's Day." I may be a little corny but things like good customer service is what makes my whole day better. Thank you chantel and all the other employees :) read more

Amazing place. Very friendly stuff . Marta is the best of the best. They all are great, but she is on top.

Have been taking my daughter here since she had her first haircut at age 2.5. She loves it and we have never had an issue with her being scared or upset. The staff is polite and nice and honestly, they have the patience of saints. I don't know how they manage - 8 out of 10 children in this place are little, terrified, and screaming. The chairs are special airplanes or fire engines and they have TV's on the wall playing children's movies that the kids can watch, but still, the vast majority of the kids just wail for mommy or daddy. In spite of the writhing, screaming bodies, the stylists still manage to do good jobs on the kids. They put a special bow in my daughter's hair for free. Check in on yelp and get $1 off. read more

The place was clean, we were greeted and assisted as soon as we walked in, the stylist we had was great at working with a squirmy toddler, and my son's haircut came out perfectly. However, we won't be returning because of the price. The usual place I take my son does all of that and just as good of a job, for a lot less; a haircut here is $18.95. Anyway, they have a selection of childrens hair products, accessories, and toys to purchase, they have a train set, which my son thoroughly enjoyed playing with, they do birthday parties, and they have the usual kid seats (fire truck, airplane, etc). After the haircut your child receives a lollipop and a toy from the toychest (think bouncy balls, bendable plastic animals, and mini airplanes). You also get a reward punch card for 50% off the 10th haircut. read more
