I was purchasing quite a bit for Valentine's Day, and my partner had already set aside some surprises of his own that he had asked to set behind the counter. She asked me if they were mine and I said no, the the bags were his (my partner's). The woman then charged me for all of his stuff too, and when I saw the she was putting his bags with mine I asked her if I had purchased everything myself - she said, "yes, you're together". I said, "we're together but we're not paying together, he's purchasing his own gifts separately". She shrugged and said, "sorry". I asked her to take the purchases off. She said no, that she was "kind of new", and didn't know how. She was completely unapologetic and rude, and if she was new and didn't know what she was doing, why was she at the store by herself in the first place? The prices were already high, which I was willing to tolerate, but the service made it a terrible experience and for that reason alone I won't be going back.

Bulk Barn puts every bulk situation in the United States to shame! Bulk Barn, its super clean stores and huge selection of products, is yet another reason to envy Canada. On my last visit I just couldn't believe my eyes as I cruised up and down the aisles. From sugars, spices and snacks like peanut butter cup popcorn and spicy plantain chips to chickpea flour, ground chia seeds and pea protein powder this place has everything! And unlike most every bulk selection I've spied, there's no cracked greenwheat freekeh mixed in with the organic kamut flakes, or black beluga lentils crunching, annoyingly, underfoot. If you're a snacker, a baker, a candy maker or just aspiring to eat better, Bulk Barn should be on your radar. This place has it all - even empty piñatas just waiting to be filled up with goodies!

First, when I received the email for my free birthday box of dipped fruit, I called the store and asked (like I did last year) to have consist of dipped pineapple only. This year I was told that I had to make a purchase of $30 in order to get it. It clearly states in the email that this is the case if you're ordering online but not if you're picking it up in person, which I was, and I didn't have this issue last year. I called another store to verify and the instructions I understood were correct. I called the Pickering location back to place the order and was then told that I was not eligible for it since I was not in their system. ??? Not only had I placed the order for my husband's 60th last year in March but I had also placed another order from this location for my father's birthday last May. I also spend hundreds of dollars a year at Edible Arrangements for corporate occasions. Explain to me how I am not in the system. Clearly they were having some technical issues. The gentleman I spoke to FINALLY agreed to give me my birthday gift but by this point, it had soured my day. The next issue happened this week when my friend had sent me, what was supposed to be an amazing arrangement of dipped daisies (which are my favourite) with the addition of salted caramel chocolate dipped apple wedges (which are my husband's favourite). The picture below is what was ordered (from the website order page) and what was delivered. Now, I didn't know in advance what she had ordered so I took a picture of what I received and text her it along with a thank you. Needless to say, she was a tad upset. I'll also include a picture of the replacement arrangement that came the next day. If your planning on ordering from this location, I suggest you check with the recipient to ensure they received what you ordered (and paid) for!! Very disappointing.

We went around Christmas time and there was a Christmas tree with cupcake ornaments on it! As a baker myself, I can say that the cupcakes are absolutely delicious. They are super moist and have so many unique frosting flavours. My friend and I shared a vanilla bean cupcake and loved it so much, we shared another one - lemon this time. There was also a nice little table for my friend and I to sit. We really loved this place, the treats, the welcoming atmosphere. We will be back again! Also, I realized that the reviews for this place are not very good. Please ignore them. They are getting this bakery mixed up with another one. Sweet Emma's Cakery is a small business that I am proud to support. I highly encourage everyone to check it out!
