The entrance has a cool gate and then you walk a bit to get to the end where you are met with a very close encounter to the water and have the most amazing view of the New York skyline. Side notes : The breeze from being next to the water can be a little chilly so unless it is summer months I would recommend bringing a jacket. There is also a little greenery area where you can let your kids loose nearby along with a playground so if you have little ones be sure to check it out! Parking can be tricky but there are apartments across the small street where they have visitor parking and then you can walk to the pier.

I had no real purpose in my life other than writing these silly reviews in the morning before work. I don't even know why I love it so much, but I do. It's my little creative outlet. This passion for writing slowly trickled to a passion for making videos. So, at the beginning of this year, I made an agreement with myself that I would shoot, edit, and post between 150-200 videos no matter what. I don't care what thoughts were inevitably going to creep in to try and talk me out of it, I'm doing this. Kobe Bryant, my childhood hero, put it best when he said "I'm not negotiating with myself. The deal has already been made. I signed that contract with myself. I'm doing it." All this to say, I've been on an absolute SPRINT this year. I'm exhausted and drained, but it's been worth it. I started the year with 5,101 followers, and today (Aug 6th) I have 75.5k. I hate judging things off of follower counts, but it is the best metric to depict what success looks like doing this. This past Sunday I was damn near bed ridden sick, but I heard Kobe's voice in my head so I dragged myself out of bed to Hoboken to go do another video. I got off the Path train and started walking, when I turned my head to the right and saw one of the most beautiful views I've seen this year at Pier A Park. A huge grassy plain, with a full view of the New York City Skyline from nose to tail across the Hudson River. It felt like a green screen. It made me pause and be present for the first time in awhile. I've been running so fast at this goal that I haven't really appreciated the journey at all, but this view forced me to stop and smell the roses. I just sat here for 30 minutes thinking "damn life is so beautiful and human beings are amazing." It reminds me of that allegory in the Alchemist when the wise man tells a boy to go explore all the marvels of a magnificent palace, but instructs him to carry a spoon with two drops of oil without spilling any. The first time he comes back with all the oil but misses all the beauty of the palace. The 2nd time he comes back having seen everything there is to see, but has no oil in the spoon. The wiseman concludes by saying "The secret of happiness is to see all the marvels of the world, and never forget the drops of oil on the spoon." You're probably like wtf is wrong with this guy hijacking this review of Pier A park to trauma dump, and that's fair. I'm a little crazy for sure. Shoutout to Pier A park though. My husband wanted to see the city that never sleeps across from the water and another state to avoid the traffic of bridges going to and from NY. It's a bit of a sketchy ride to get to Hoboken. I'm usually with my daughter and she's not interested in spending time taking in the outdoor sites. We usually head for the Mall and Cheesecake Factory. I really like this area because it reminds me of our Hudson River Greenway in Manhattan. I enjoy being near the water. I definitely plan to return to spend a full day walking and taking in the views. I'm going to pack a lunch and really enjoy the fresh air! It's a historic area with lots of photo opportunities. I've got to find someone that would like to go with me. I don't know my way around as well as I do on my side of the river!! I usually stay near the train station. I'm recommending a trip in the Spring!
