This park is SLEPT ON! I stumbled upon this place by running all the way down the westside highway. Almost no tourists here as it's so tucked away. I would argue there is no better place to come on a nice day to lay out, enjoy the sun, and read a book. I'm currently working on "Even Cowgirls Get the Blues," but I can't lie, I've been finding it tough to digest. Tom Robbins is a madman. Okay, STORYTIME: Around this time last year, I randomly ran into an ex-girlfriend from high school while in this park. Thankfully it was mid ab-workout so I had a nice little pump going lol. It's one of those exes where nothing really happened, both moved away for college and it just didn't make sense to stay together. I still don't have a bad word to say about her, you know? I hadn't seen her in 7 or so years and she has no social media presence at all, which is how you know she's a real one lmao. I was like "there's no way I'm seeing her rn" ahahaha it was wild. Felt like I was talking to a ghost, shout out to Casper. She walked me back to where I was staying at the time, and on the 30 min walk or so we caught up about each other's families, lives, etc. It was seamless, and it's such a bromide, but I almost felt like no time had passed. I felt like a little kid again, all giddy and nervous to talk to this girl. I thought it was so beautiful to catch up with someone that knew me so deeply and was so important to me at a completely different point in my life. Just kind of a cool, full circle moment. I know what you're inevitably thinking, as was I, but no. She now lives in Colorado with her boyfriend of 5 years and they have a dog together. It's cooked lmao. But, what I will say is I am so happy that she is happy. She deserves it. THANK YOU ROCKEFELLER PARK FOR GIVING ME THIS BEAUTIFUL MOMENT I AM SO GRATEFUL! IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov__

This park is one of the reasons New York City is one of the most amazing cities on our planet. Basketball courts, soccer Court, tons of public Green space. There's a beautiful view of the Hudson River. Green grass. Picnic tables.and there's even a bizarre little monument with brick columns.

This is almost a semi-private park. Its actually public but its tucked away on the westside waterfront behind the world financial center and luxury apartment buildings so its : 1) hard to stumble upon 2) populated mostly by people that live in a nearby building. Which means its almost never packed. Its is one of the cities best kept secrets. It boast views of the river, statue of liberty, basketball courts, ping pong tables, playground, and off course huge lush green lawn. I didnt see a lot of vendors around there so I suggest bringing your own snacks. Its such a great park to visit on a lazy afternoon or during your lunch break for a quick picnic.

I enjoyed this lovely park while attending the Healthfest Rally with Kevin Hart. This park is super clean and offers beautiful scenic views all around the park. My son and I had a great time here along with our friends while participating at the event. There is something here for all ages, basketball courts, swings, sandbox, monkey bars and so much more to keep you entertained. There is plenty of seating all over the park. I'm so glad that I discovered this park through this event because I will definitely be back to visit again just to relax.

FREE EVENT I love finding free events around my city. Rally with Kevin Hart is a morning and afternoon focusing on fitness. It was a great event. I went my friends and their kids. We had to complete an activity to gain stickers. Once we collect them we are able to get free fitness gear. Yay!! It is a big park and it was SUPER PACKED. On hot days like this you definitely need "Off" bug spray because the Dragonflies are real. Jeez. Park is located downtown and parking was nearly impossible. All and all I have visit battery park in the past and will continue to do so in the future.

Large grass field between the playground and the Hudson River.

One of the many great NYC Parks and public playgrounds. A large play area for the kids with sprinklers, cargo obstacles, self propelled merry go round, and ample shade and bench seating for parents. In front is a larger grass field for open play and 100ft North is a community center that has ping pong, knock hockey, balls, a play kitchen, and various other toys. And this is all directly in front of the Hudson River for excellent scenic views and pictures. A large Koi pond just south of the playground. Best of all for parents is a clean and air conditioned public bathroom across the street from the community center by Warren street.

Rockefeller was not always a businessman, philanthropist, oil production, or the 41st Vice President of the United States, where his good deeds enables a healthier environment of a local park that sits on the edge of Battery Park City. Nelson A. Rockefeller Park overlooks Jersey City of the Hudson River with a large children's playground and a quaint serene Japanese welcome gate intersects River Terrace and Warren Street. After a brief stay at nearby Poets House I was immensely piqued by the beauty and greenery backed by the beautiful view amid, the extreme purgatory blazing summer's heat. Albeit it is surely no Frederick Law Olmsted design, as it is not an oasis setting landscape but the view is indeed beautiful. The lawn is very green and without any brown spots visible. I think I saw a elephant stone water foundation in the children's playground spewing water for a cool down and the laughter and screams of children playing in water was innocently young. Park patrons also have a glimpse of the new Freedom Tower.

Love love love love love this park! I'm bias because I trained for the NYC marathon along this path and just love the views and the serenity. This park runs along side the West Side Highway and offers so many beautiful views of the Hudson River and the skyline of NJ. U can see miss Liberty from some areas and u get to see gorgeous sunsets along the water. There are many piers along this park that offer a variety of activities such as free kayaking, volleyball, mini golf, many large lawns for public to bring blankets and their own activities, playgrounds, water misters, dog parks, skate park, tennis, the list goes on. This path also has trees and some other shrubbery along some of the patches and with that and he River along the patches, u really feel like u escapes the concrete jungle for a little while even though u are still in the city limits. The running, walking and biking paths are also separated which helps a lot with controlling how crowded the park paths could otherwise be. This is a huge plus for the runners and walkers because they get to be right along the water and not needing to worry about oncoming bikers unlike in the city streets. For the bikers this is somewhat of a downside because the bike path doesn't give you as great of a view of the water and u can not bike on the piers, but u can dismount the bike and walk it on to the piers. And there is now more spots that are being added for citi bikes along this path to make it easier to dismount and enjoy the piers and taking a break during your bike rides. Enjoy!

Nice spot for an elevated view of the Hudson.. :)

Small park along the Hudson River with nice panoramic views of Jersey City..and close walking distance from One World Trade Center (15mins). There's playgrounds for the families and little kids, as well as, a few open grassy fields for throwing around a frisbee or just relaxing and enjoying the views. It's location is great, away from all the busy foot traffic near the World Trade Center and nestled next to Battery Park condos. Great escape away from the busy city!

Beautiful sunset

This is possibly one of the most beautiful, clean, and relaxing parks I've been to. It's a bit of a hike from the train station and even harder to find parking if you're in the area, but it's worth it because this park is huge and gorgeous! I had a picnic with my friends at Nelson A. Rockefeller Park earlier this Summer and it was a very a nice and relaxing spot. It's a huge park filled with a playground for kids, basketball court, handball court, and a lot more. I like that there's also a nice view of New Jersey from the park. I would love to come back to this park again either for another picnic or just for a nice walk.

Some friends and I met up here to attend the River to River festival and arrived late because we went to Rockerfeller plaza uptown first. This was my first time in this park that I didnt even know about. Its a beautiful park that overlooks the Hudon river. We didnt stay that long but this is a park I plan to visit again during the day and take advantage of the greenery and unwind a little.

This Playground has WHAT!?!? We stumbled across the playground here on the way to see the Hokule'a while it was docked at Pier 26. Seriously this playground is amazing! It has something for little and big ones of all ages, shade, drinking water, and restrooms nearby. When facing the Playground from the river the left side starts off with the baby/toddler type of amenities: toddler swings, toddler maze, toddler slide, & toddler sand box. Just to the right of that is the Play structure that is fit for the 2-5 year olds. In the center are the sand pit and water park areas which separate the 2-5 year old play structure from the 5-12 year play structures (estimates on age requirements based on field observations =p). And Finally to the far right has a Bike-Go-Round that seems to be in pretty heavy rotation (you see what I did there =p). I urge you to bring your big or little ones here who love playing outside, I'm sure they'd love it. Water fountains are sprinkled through the playground and a public restrooms are located across the street next to the 2 stop signs. Long story short this place is AMAZEBALLS and you should check it out if you haven't already. No people from New Jersey or New York were harmed during the writing of this review. And if there were, FUGETABOUTIT!!!

This is a fantastic place to run through, especially during sunset time. I came here for the first time yesterday and was completed amazed by the colors and setting silhouette against New Jersey. It's really quite amazing, especially if you enjoy these NYC sunsets. Something about the sun reflecting off these monstrous huge mushroom clouds is something unreal. We stopped to sit on the bench and take in all the views. To the south you can see the Statue of Liberty at the distance, to the west is New Jersey and to the North you can see all the sailboats heading back to their ports. In general it's a perfect place to hang out on the benches/grass, a quick run through the area or a nice romantic walk.

It's home to the OG Shake Shack, which stands there til this day. There is also an awesome dog park there. This park is great at all times of the year, so don't hesitate to go now.

Besides that, I never paid much mind to the park, especially in light of the fact that it's not in my stomping grounds. Nevertheless, I had just finished brunching nearby and since it was such a gorgeous day out, I decided to take a walk through the park and check it out. MSP is not large - the center of it is a large green space with paths on the perimeter that contain walking paths and benches. In addition to the Shake Shack, there's also a small seating area nearby where you can sit and eat, or just hang out. The park is ideal of people watching, eating your lunch, or just walking around a space that contrasts the hustle and bustle of the surrounding areas. Because of the weather, it was a little crowded but still pleasant. Overall, MSP is fine - it's not worth coming to unless you're in the area IMO, but a pleasant spot nonetheless.

We were on our 4th game of 5 on 5 on this slanted, slippery court with double rims as the Midtown skyline looked over us. We had gone 3-0 and already on wobbly legs but wanted one more to really push ourselves to exhaustion and be WHOOPED. A group of 5 17 year olds showed up and I was lowkey like damn I don't wanna play these little kids for our last game but whatever, they got next. We were going back and forth, and to be fair they were actually pretty good but just too frail to give us any problems. At 5'10 174 lbs, I'm a BIG guard. I'm left handed, but shot a right handed floater fading to my right as I'm trying to get better. If you can hit a weak hand floater on the run you will be tough to stop. I bricked it and this little 17 year old kid goes "that's a TERRIBLE shot" looking at me dead in the eyes. Like bro y'all are losing and you suck why you talking? He woke me up and I started actually trying really hard and lowkey busting their ass... but tbh normally I'm not even that good. It was just one of those days where everything was falling. I hit a 3 and yelled out "THAT'S A LAYUP." I drove hard left, euro stepped and hit a tough finish through 2 and yelled "I"M TOO BIG," while flexing. I switched onto little homie and he took a terrible stepback shot after I turned him 3 times and bricked it. I just whispered to him "I don't even gotta say nothing after that one it speaks for itself" which really pissed him off. Then I hit the game winning 3 and did the Dame wave to him as he walked off the court PISSED as hell. I sat down and then he got the courage to say "STOP TALKING SO MUCH" while he put his hand together to mimic me YAPPING. I almost stood up and said "HOW BOUT U GET WIN?" But then I realized I'm a grown ass man and there is absolutely no reason to be jawing at this little kid on a beautiful Friday in New York City. I just kind of laughed at myself and asked what is wrong with me lol. All in all, these runs were kind of weak and this court is in horrendous condition. The court on the westside highway is still my favorite in the city. IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov_reviews
