Love this area. Very clean, lots of shops to see, fun things to do. You can see both bridges from 39 and then a short walk to the delicious Ghirardelli center.

Any questions can always find it on their website www.pier39.com There is a public restroom on the second floor , take the stairs or elevator. Restroom is located near the carousel ( facing the water bathrooms is to the left hand side ) Anytime your in SF don't forget to bring a light - medium jacket , it gets very cold and windy in certain parts of the Bay Area. Especially in the months of June -July it's hot everywhere else but SF it gets bone chilling cold . ( who knows now since the global warming change SF had been warmer then usual ) Tulip mania is mid February-Mid March No overnight parking at any parking structures. See some of my photos for quick glance on the pier parking info/ public transportation

Great place to get some great food, do some tourist things and see the seals. There are lots of great eats in the pier and some fun activities to do too. You can do the double decker buses, the ferris wheel, put a lock on the pier and enjoy some great street foods. They also have a few shops and souvenirs stores. They had a live magician show when I visited and there are some great views too. You can see the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz Island from the pier also.

You better get your wallet and card ready here! Lots of capitalism is going to entice you on this place! Only thing free here is the viewing of the sea lions! You also get a closer look of alcatraz here. See images and videoa for further information

I haven't been to Pier 39 in sooooo long!!! But my husband surprised me for my birthday this past weekend and this was just what I needed! Although it was crowded, it was still a great time. We visited a few of the jewelry shops on the pier. Had coffee at the Biscoff coffee shop and then grabbed a few mini donuts from Trish's, and enjoyed the view of the beautiful water that surrounded the pier! Looking forward to coming back soon with our kids to enjoy it again!

Great place to visit. There is boudin sf, trolly, double decker, carnival, seafood, etc.

Pier 39 Marina's East Yacht Harbor

Beautiful Marina! Look, for transparencies sake, I do not own a boat and I do not sail so I can't speak to the quality of the Pier 39 Marina services, but I live nearby and often take a walk around Pier 39. I love the peaceful and tranquil look of this marina. With that said, I should mention that over the years I have met a few people who docked their boats there and they've told me that they were happy with the arrangements. The Marina surrounds PIER 39. The West Yacht Harbor is home to the famous San Francisco Sea Lions and it is also the general guest docking area. If you walk by there you are almost guaranteed to slow down and take a look at those big noisy creatures who seem to love to lay down all day! The Marina's East Yacht Harbor is for long-term and transient tenant boats. Sometimes the Sea Lions forget about this and venture to this area too! I may be imagining this, but it seems to me like during 2020 the number of boats that host overnight tenants increased, but I am just saying that based on my own observation. I do not even know if the harbor permits overnight residence. Next time you are visiting Pier 39 take a walk around the pier and check out the Marinas on both sides.

Only place in San Fransisco I'll go. LEAVE EARLY, get a good parking space and enjoy all the sights, smells (of food) and scenery. Seals aren't there in July I found out, sad.

Self-explanatory! Its exactly what it says it is!

San Francisco, in a nutshell! Its touristy. Its packed. Its interesting. Its diverse. Basically, it's a great place to visit, eat and shop. Just know that every shop on the Pier is going to be relatively expensive, with a few exceptions. We really enjoyed the Eagle Cafe, and the Biscoff shop. And, no trip is complete with visiting the sea lions, if they're in town!

This is a fun tourist attraction in the harbor area. You will find lots of restaurants and snacks and shops . San Francisco souvenirs are everywhere. Lots of fun to watch the seals.

This is one of ny all time favorite stops in San Francisco. A huge variety of shops. An entertainment stage. Merry Go Round. Plenty of fabulous places to eat. You will love it. I really loved the Christmas shop with hundreds of ornaments of all shapes and sizes. And a huge variety of theme ornaments to match anyone's interests. Makes great gifts. The incredible fresh fish at the restaurants. And a great variety of entertainment..An absolute must stop for the visitor.

Located along the bay next to Fisherman's Wharf, there is plenty to see, eat, and buy. Nice place to spend the afternoon.

This marina by their own admission has dangerous swells that can damage boats and docks but they don't disclose that on their web page.

Touristy for sure so we expected that going in, but watching the sea lions was such a treat and the whole pier was clean and had lots of touristy shops to visit.

Berkeley Marina

West Berkeley

A beautiful spot!…read more The Berkeley Marina quickly became one of my favorite weekend spots while going to school in the city. There is something here for quite literally everyone of all ages and physical capabilities. I visited on a warm Saturday afternoon and was pleased to see there were people literally everywhere. On the land, there were dozens of children playing on the playgrounds. My friends and I were walking by the Adventure Playground (a wooden, quite industrial-looking play area), where we heard what sounded like the hammering of wood. I jokingly asked, "what is that noise? Are the kids in there building the playground themselves?" To my surprise, they literally were. This playground offers the unique opportunity for children to build and design the play area themselves. There are forts, towers, and even a zipline. This is a great way for kids to build community and work with their hands. Right next to this is a more "traditional" playground with slides, swing sets, and all the works. There are also many walking/running trails around the whole marina. Along these paths there are benches and tables where you can have a picnic and enjoy the beautiful view of the bay. You'll see people being active throughout the whole area. The main paths are paved so they are accessible to those with mobility issues. There are public restrooms available that are relatively clean. The water activities are endless here. There are kayak rentals, sail boats, and just plain swimmers. There are multiple docks to launch small crafts and to take a dip. In the shallower beachy areas, there were children swimming. If you look off to the distance, you'll see the strong open water swimmers practicing in their wetsuits. You may even see people learning how to use a hydrofoil board. People are often flying their kites off the bay's breeze too. I believe this is truly a spot for everyone who enjoys the outdoors. But, must I warn you...beware of the squirrels because they WILL run up to you and they sure aren't shy.
