The guest services are great, I was here for a week and towards mid stay, they learned my leaving time and had my car available. Yes it is valet parking which requires you to plan 10-15m earlier as they need to go and get the car around the corner. The room was as the pictures stated. There does not seem to be remodeling going on. The elevator requires your room key for an added layer of security. Front desk was welcoming every day as you came in, normally with the generic "welcome back" but nice not to be ignored. The rooms have the electronic key if you prefer. The cleaning happened every other day, so if you drink their room coffee, they only put one out. Recommend they place 2, otherwise you have to find a cleaning lady to get more coffee and cups. The only issues I had in the room was that the toilet seat almost fell off, there was dirt under the desk area and a shower bottle needed to be replaced. Understand the staff probably has only so long per room, but these small details can be an issue to other missed items. Lastly, the bed was not as soft as other Marriott hotels. Overall, I would stay here if I am here on business. There was not a lot of food option, but they have a restaurant in the hotel. Normally I grabbed to go food on the way back to the hotel.

Not a single wait staff welcome to us except when it was time for us to pay. I've been in this hotels several times and for restaurant service and for restaurant satisfaction has been very low.

The layout of our room was a little strange and the bathroom was very dated, but overall everything was fine for our needs. WiFi was strong, which was important for us because we both needed to work while there. The only restaurant in the building was closed for renovations or something, so there was no room service. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance, although most did not seem to keep standard hours of operation - some only open for lunch, some only open for dinner, some only open weekdays, etc., and they don't necessarily adhere to whatever Google says, so you kind of just have to take your chances. Staff were really friendly and helpful with storing some stuff we needed to keep frozen, and also when we needed to extend our stay 1 night. This isn't somewhere I'd make a point to return to for a vacation, but as a crash pad while spending the majority of our time visiting a friend in the hospital, it was totally fine, centrally located, and budget-friendly.

Today I spent many hours trying to find a shelter for a homeless person in vain. By midnight, I realized how difficult it is for a homeless person to get the very basic freedom we enjoy. During the 10 hour struggle, I learned about a broken system, both government and civilian, which cannot provide a means to provide the basic needs. One exception was Punawai Rest Stop. Here, they provide a public access for shower, toilets and laundry. A homeless person or anyone can come in to get access to these without unnecessary paperwork that some organizations require. It is not luxurious by any means. You get the basic needs met. However, I did see a remarkable transformation of a homeless person to a completely refreshed person who can blend in the society. Appearance and smell do matter as the homeless don't get the same access because of the way they appear. (Earlier, we were harassed by Bestbuy security for spending too much time on their property. Eventually they threatened to call cops. We were outside away from patrons and I doubt that I'd been harrased if I were by myself. I suppose my ghetto look and my homeless friend probably made us look like we were both homeless. Still... ) This rest stop may not seem like much, but I consider this place a success story and a much needed assistance for the less privileged. The workers were cordial and supportive to me and Hope (the alias of the homeless). I deeply appreciate this place and workers.

Saint Augustine said, "The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page." My paternal grandmother used to travel all over the world. She brought back koala bear toys, Korean dolls, lots of exotic coins, and other souvenirs for my sisters and me. She would tell us about her adventures and we could just imagine the foreign lands... I really admired her - she gave me a window to the world through her eyes. One of my grandma's favorite quote was: "See the world before you leave it". I believe that saying was from Char Tour & Travel Service which closed in 2004. Anyway, last year, my former co-worker and I used Travel Concepts for a cruise between Japan, Okinawa, and Korea. The owner, Maggie, was very pleasant, helpful, and organized. She answered all questions when we met online via Zoom. She emailed us back with the answers she didn't have at the time of the meeting. Maggie was friendly to each member of our group from Hawaii. It appeared that our group had used this tour company several times in the past... and they're planning their final tour together for 2026. "Final"... because we're aging... LOL! We showed Maggie our passports, completed a form, and paid our deposit by check. We're ready to cruise again next year! So far, 25 members of our group signed up!

I read Yelp reviews and heard about this business and how well Simon was in helping with going through the process. He sent me an email stating what was needed. We gathered all the info and went down to Skyway Express (located by Singsing Restaurant). Simon filled all our Visa forms, collected our passports and called us if the consulate needed additional information. It took a little over a month to get back our passports with our China Visa. Definitely recommend this business. Total cost was $350 each person ($140 for the visa and the rest for their services) - money well spent instead of us having to fly to California and stay or fly back there when the passports were ready.

Traveling to China from Honolulu, Hawaii…read more.. My friend, Edwina, told me about the Narcissus Queen Tour. This year (2024), the tour was going to the Queen's hometown of Yunan. They were also going to visit Dali, LiJiang, XiZhou, and ZhongShan. I haven't been to these cities, so I wanted to go! Luckily, my friend, Irene, agreed to be my roommate! We went to their office in Chinatown Honolulu to meet with the travel agents at Skyway Express. They processed our paperwork for Visas, gave us itineraries, and even hosted a welcome/orientation luncheon for everyone to meet! The process was quite smooth, even with the refund for our flight since we added on a few days extra in Hong Kong before and after China. We paid for our flights on Expedia which turned out to save us some money! Skyway Express booked the five hotels, land tours, bullet train ride between KunMing and Dali, and flight between LiJiang and GuangZhou! The package included all admission fees to various museums and theaters, air-conditioned buses, most meals, tips for the drivers and tour guides, and unlimited bottled water! We're looking forward to the next Narcissus Queen's Tour!
