The two ladies are knowledgeable and can tell you what is vegan what is not. Had Coconut and Lentil with Vegetables Soup with Toast and a Spicy Rice and Veggie Wrap with the same soup. Saw a morning glory muffin which was Vegan and gluten free and somehow I heard it calling me. The muffin was delicious. With greens, carrots and coconut was amazing. The best part it had very little sugar. Only if I had it warmed. The soup and wrap came quickly after. The soup had almost entire lentils which we assumed would be under cooked. We were wrong. The lentils cooked to perfection. The coconut milk creamy. A bit under seasoned for the Mrs, but I didn't mind. I did want some spice though. Added some black pepper but didn't do anything. The wrap with lots of salad greens and rice. Carrots and veggies. The rice and tortilla was warm. The service was good as well. The place has a small area for buying some nut milk and other stuff. There is also a shelf full of books for customers sit and enjoy.

The berry scone was amazing as well. I wished the tea place we went to the day before in Gravenhurst (Blue Willow Tea Shop) made their scones as good as this. Farmer's Daughter's scones were sweet and didn't need jam. The chocolate chip cookies were fantastic as well. I liked the husband's edamame avocado bean salad. The son got a pasta combo for $18.99. I really liked his mac and cheese; the pasta salad was fine. I wasn't a fan of his peanut butter chocolate chip cookie (too much pb, not enough choc) The daughter really liked her potatoes dauphinois. Her side of roasted cauliflower, mushrooms, and broccoli were fine, but the pierogies were exceptional. This place drains your wallet little by little. I suggested it because I thought it would make sense to have a cheaper lunch but I'm not sure it was. Especially by the time we got dessert. (But it was worth it!) The next day the husband and I had the lentil wrap - he ordered it the first day and was a fan. It was kind of like Amy's brand of samosas but better and fresh. It definitely grows on you. The daughter was not as into her chicken with cornflake breading. The son got the lasagna but thought the previous day's mac n cheese was better.

If they stayed open a little later they could get a lot more service. I walked in 5 minutes before closing and they locked the door behind me. My husband said 6 or 7 people walked up and were turned away in the 10 minutes I was in. Sandwiches looked good, I wish I could spend more time. Lovely baskets and plants as well.

I'm NOT a vegan. Always, in the back of my mind, when contemplating a vegan or even vegetarian (who…read moreknew there was a difference?) meal, with some friend or other twisting my arm to imbibe same, was this thought: 'Ok, I'm open-minded, but there is just no way that it can equal a meal with meat.' And, really, over the years, I've had some pretty yummy veg/an/etarian interludes, but nothing to flat out change my mind... until North Star Diner. Tiny. Mind. Blown. Put it this way: I had the best beef and cheese nachos of my life there, and there was no beef or cheese anywhere near the property (well, there is a pizzeria next door). I brought a teamster from our work, basically kicking and screaming, for lunch. In all his years driving he'd gone once for a meal off his map. Sushi, and he didn't like it. He had the 'cheeseburger' at North Star, and I watched him like a hawk. The way the light came into his eyes at first bite, said everything. After I found this place I ate there every chance I got, sometimes more than once a day. Consult above review for flavor of the place itself. She does not exaggerate. I loooooove the place, and miss it dearly.

We got take out so it was minimal service and ambiance but the front staff were great and looking around, the ambiance looked to be very cozy. We got a meatball sandwich was some great potato wedges. A salad with a fried egg which is something neither of us had before and a pizza. I would say the salad and sandwich was better than the pizza but that being said I would give the salad a 5/5, the sandwich 4.5/5 and the pizza a 4/5 so still all very solid. Would recommend this to anyone in the area.

The lighting was a little dimmer than I would have liked, I was y able to see too much, and they had small table lamps which were cute but quite ineffective in keeping the place lit. It was actually hard for all four of us to read our menus at the same time we had to pass the table lamp to each other lol. I ordered the Mediterranean pizza, they had a good amount of toppings, quite heavy on the feta, which honestly is very nice to see. But I'm more of a veggie person so I would have really liked more veggies on my pizza, but it was good, and HUGE! The portion size is good for two people minimum! The dessert was honestly nothing that would keep me coming back, or I would probably skip it the next time. It was well made, but much to sweet for my liking, but if your a Nutella fan and love marshmallows, then this is the perfect end to your meal! Bon appetite!

Not only was everything delicious, the service and presentation was amazing. The very polite and efficient server brought the tofu out and placed it into a cast iron serving pot with sizzling onions and poured the (delicious) sauce over it in front of us. The four of us (two Montrealers, a Sudbury guy and a North Bay girl) all turned to watch her prepare this for us. Honestly, it was one of the yummiest Chinese foods we've had, and we were so happy to get delicious vegetarian food in Temiscaming. Just great. (Also the portions were huge! We had leftovers and we even brought a growing boy!)

Asked for the woman who owns the restaurant to come out so he could show her and he started figiting with the food some more and surprise surprise another hair. She brushed it off saying it was some spice. I ain't ever seen no spice like that. Anyways, we simply asked her if he could either get a new plate or he wasn't going to be paying for that one. She refused and got hostile with him, grabbed the plate out of his hand before he could do anything and basically said get out. She is one of the rudest managers I have ever met. Most certainly wi not be going eating there again anytime soon.
