We were visiting for the weekend and I was craving pizza so we stumbled across Arugula and so glad we did ! We got take out so it was minimal service and ambiance but the front staff were great and looking around, the ambiance looked to be very cozy. We got a meatball sandwich was some great potato wedges. A salad with a fried egg which is something neither of us had before and a pizza. I would say the salad and sandwich was better than the pizza but that being said I would give the salad a 5/5, the sandwich 4.5/5 and the pizza a 4/5 so still all very solid. We were visiting from out of town and this place has such a great reputation for amazing pizza and other items, so it was a must try. The lighting was a little dimmer than I would have liked, I was y able to see too much, and they had small table lamps which were cute but quite ineffective in keeping the place lit. It was actually hard for all four of us to read our menus at the same time we had to pass the table lamp to each other lol. I ordered the Mediterranean pizza, they had a good amount of toppings, quite heavy on the feta, which honestly is very nice to see. But I'm more of a veggie person so I would have really liked more veggies on my pizza, but it was good, and HUGE! The portion size is good for two people minimum! The dessert was honestly nothing that would keep me coming back, or I would probably skip it the next time. It was well made, but much to sweet for my liking, but if your a Nutella fan and love marshmallows, then this is the perfect end to your meal! Bon appetite! read more

I love Arugula!! The atmosphere of this joint is impeccable. As soon as you walk in, you are struck with ambiance. The large windows make for an amazing view of the woods and waterway behind the building. Although, I couldn't help but notice the soda can nestled down in the brush. My boyfriend and I visited North Bay for a long weekend and fell in love with the place. We were looking for places to eat when we came across Arugula. We ordered 2 pizzas coupled with Bloody Caesars and an appetizer of calamari. We loved everything! My pizza was pretty difficult to eat only because of the fried leeks on top. Everything except for the calamari (of course) was very fresh. I thoroughly enjoyed the front of the menu explaining a bit about Arugula. It was nice to see some history and explanation. All in all, I will most likely be back to visit Arugula if I'm in North Bay again. It was worth the money to enjoy the atmosphere! read more

A decent eat, however the staff are splendid. Considering Covid, this spot was extraordinary. New cut fries and extraordinary poutine. Burgers new and delicious. They have as of late set up a porch. The blonde woman that served us was so useful. Amazed at the nature of administration. Astounding food. Menu is broad and occasional to an especially exclusive expectation. Most certainly top notch food. It very well may be costly however worth the effort and they do various arrangements on various evenings so it merits looking at them before you book. One of a kind experience. BAD experience!! Loud banging music. We couldn't talk amongst ourselves. I asked if the music could be turned down. Waitress said she was not allowed to turn it down. To add to that, the kitchen staff ( open kitchen) were continually yelling at the servers. Dark. Server was also not allowed to turn on lights. Muddle of the day and we couldn't read our menu's. We stayed despite all this. Food was actually very good but with all the chaotic surroundings, we won't be back. This restaurant is horribly run. Shameful. read more

Pretty nice. We were able to sit outside on the veranda style screened in patio on a nice day. It's actually quite a tight fit and very small, so this is something to consider if you appreciate not bumping elbows with the diners at the table next to you. We only had apps which was perfect because we weren't in the moos for pizza. (Although their pizza is delicious!) the quality of the food was outstanding and our server was very prompt. One of the negatives - I recently just returned from Italy and I was surprised to see the poor selection of Italian wine on their menu. For an "Italian" restaurant I would expect more Italian wines than only a few. I was a bit disappointed by that. read more

Arugula is a Neapolitan style pizzeria. The restaurant features their authentic stone pizza oven near the centre of the restaurant. The menu is comfortably crafted for a wide audience and of note, there is an entire section devoted to vegan pizza! Although they are famous for their pizza, they have amazing salads and paninis on the menu as well. This restaurant offers a stunning seating option of a screened-in patio area privately overlooking a small creek. For food tips; I prefer the Calabrese or Cured meat pizzas. The only item on the menu I have heard negative reviews on is the fungi pizza. As to be expected, the serving staff here are top notch and the food is perfection. read more

Great experience. Eating at the pizza bar is actually a great spot. Had a chance to chat and asked questions to a couple of the staff making pizza. My pizza was quite basic in nature but they had all kinds of different options for their pizza. I also had the Caesar salad which was very good as well. We have had a cottage in the area for 10 years and this was our first time at Arugula. Why did we wait so long?! This was some of the best pizza we have ever had. After a long day, driving from Sault Ste. Marie, we studied Yelp and drove to a place highly recommended (Churchill's), only to find it impossible to get in, due to a large party. So, we went to the next place, the White Owl and couldn't find a parking space. We drove around and stumbled onto Arugula, where we were promptly seated and treated like special friends. We sat at the bar and marveled at the pizzas going out to tables and many more going out the door as take out. It was fun to watch them make the many different variations. We had the calamari and the Calabrese pizza. Very thin crust, neapolitan style. Excellent. Would highly recommend sitting at the bar just to watch the pizza chefs work their magic. read more

Moving to North Bay from the Toronto area scared me at first concerning the amount of decent options for dining. Those fears were put to bed tonight. The restaurant was busy at 6pm for our reservation of four, but the place didn't miss a stride. The decor was uncomplicated and simple, but very clean and welcoming as well. I didn't use the restroom, but my wife mentioned it was clean and good. My only regret (being my first time), was that we were seated inside. Next time, we will try to reserve a patio seat. Our server was friendly and excellent at not being too disruptive with our lively conversation. It is a fine art of serving to know your table and when to intervene, and when to be more hands off. The table had a pitcher of the peroni draft, which was cold and on point -- no dirty draught lines or mugs. We shared an order of nachos to start -- a cool take on a tired classic. The salsa on the side was freshly made -- not the store bought garbage. My father-in law and I had chicken parm sandwiches which were on point -- the only reason we didn't order pizza was that we knew we'd get to sample our wives meals. The Margherita pizza was as on point as I could imagine. The clean flavors of the food and sincere service we received was the best we've had in the Bay (so far). This seems to be the place I'll being my visiting friends and family. Will be back soon, for sure! read more

Went for dinner last night with a friend. I usually go to lunch. Another wonderful experience! I had the fromaggi pizza with a tequila sunrise. Delicious, both the drink and pie. My sunrise was well made and presented. My pizza was tasty but I found the crust was a bit crisper and the cheese didn't cover it close to the edge like normal... but the taste of the cheese made up for it. I just didn't eat the crust this time. Which is unusual because the crust with oil is like having another meal altogether. Still dislike the seating, the tables are close together and on the small size. But the ambiance makes up for that deficiency. Still one of my favourite restaurants in the bay. read more

We went to take our daughter and friends there for her grad today at lunch Our tattooed snotty little server didn't even speak she just looked at me. I asked if we could have a table for 6,,, she didn't even answer. Walked away to the bar and started pouring drinks. So we waited.. other servers didn't answer our questions either. Hidden Gem. This restaurant is in a little spot on the street overlooking a little creek in town. With a large pizza oven right in the middle to make authentic pizza. They have so many other amazing dishes as well. The portions are also very generous! I get the nachos every time I go. They are made with wonton wrappers instead of regular nacho chips. The pile is so large I cannot even eat half of them... they could be shared with 3-4 people for sure. In the summer there is a screened in deck area to eat in. Very nice to look out on. Had the lunch special- Italian salad, pizza margarita & gelato. Honestly the closest thing to pizza in Naples that I've had in North America. It's always disappointing to go to a new Italian pizzeria claiming to be real Italian, only to find out that they aren't. At Arugula, I was pleasantly surprised that the Italian salad was very much what I had all over Italy & the pizza margarita took me back to Napoli! I would've loved to see some gnocchi, tiramisu & limoncello added to the menu- that would give a complete Italian experience!!
