Food and service were super good, they also had a huge selection of beers! We came on a Friday night around 630. I was worried we weren't going to be able to find a table, but the place was almost empty. We ordered fries and pizza. The fries were $8 and the pizza was $15. The fries were good, they were waffle fries with bacon, bleu cheese and some sort of sauce on top. The taco pizza was also delicious. The crust was very good on the pizza, which makes me want to try their other types. I think they have a lot of potential, but they need to work on some things. The space kind of seems cafeteria like - the tables aren't very nice and the kitchen is kind of in the dining room, I could see our food being made. A lot of the decor was odd, it kind of reminded me of renaissance era. When you think of a place for craft beer, the inside isn't what you expect. My bf and I ordered this off of Grubhub and it honestly was so disappointing. Don't want to give one star because it could have been an off day. We ordered two orders of fries - the old bay one and the blackened blue cheese (?) ones and literally couldn't eat them. They were soggy, VERY salty, and literally had no crisp at all to them. They tasted like they had been made two days ago and then warmed up for us on the day. We aren't usually picky either but the fries salt actually burnt my bf's tongue - you could see a red welt. It was probably the worst fries I ever got for like $6. We also got burgers that were just okay. Not amazing. Not too terrible. But nothing worth ordering ever. Maybe stick to the pies if you order and you'll have better luck than us. Giving them 2 stars because we might have just had a bad batch and their name is Pie Hops not Fry Hops (I guess). My friend and I tried Pie Hops several weeks ago after a long year of not eating out. We absolutely loved the hot pretzel with addictively good queso, the Old Bay wings and the waffle fries. We were excited to return this week and were very disappointed that the hot pretzel and wings were not on the menu anymore. We tried the Old Bay chicken tenders and they were fine but did not taste of any seasoning. My friends burger was good as were the waffle fries, but the app-sized order of fries was pretty small for $6. There is a good beer selection, although seems heavy on IPAs. It is very hard to read the beer menu screen because there are so many selections and the screen changes too quickly. You can scan a QR code on the menu to read the beer selections but again, reading it on a tiny phone screen is a pain. This is an easy thing to fix that would make the customer experience more pleasant. The service is very friendly and accommodating which is a plus. I want to love this place! My friend and I need a good happy hour spot to add to our rotation of favorites. I have a family member in the restaurant industry so wanted to offer the most constructive criticism I can so this place can be a success. Please please bring back that hot pretzel! my boyfriend and I went here to get pizza because we were hungry. when we got there it took foreverr to get a waiters attention and when we did and were ready to order they said they didnt serve pizza anymore. THERE WAS NO PIE AT PIE HOPS only LATIN FOOD. they said their menu on website isnt updated to this new menu...THEN UPDATE IT. you would have saved me some heartbreak. Pie Hops is a new eatery in Norwich, located in the former Otis Library and Cafe Otis, right across Union Square at City Hall. The decor remains from when it was Cafe Otis... a beautiful mix of art deco and Mediterranean influence. Today was my first time ordering take-out from Pie Hops. I selected Black 'n Blue cottage fries which were amazing! You won't be disappointed by the strong flavor of pepper, blue cheese, bacon and the horseradish dressing - plus the fries stayed crispy even while in their box and having been put through the 15-minute journey from the establishment back to the office. I also tried the Caesar salad (with shrimp) which is usually a good indication of the quality of the food. I was so impressed with the strongly-tasting dressing that incorporated actual anchovies and garlic for sure - it closely rivals with my homemade version. There were four, very-jumbo shrimp, and plenty of shaved parmesan cheese. I am definitely going to return to Pie Hops, especially because of how curious I am to try their pizza! read more

Food was delicious and the place looked spectacular, staff was very friendly. Liked it so much I decided to order for pick up the next time, unfortunately I was informed that the "nachos" would be an extra $4 bucks than I originally paid the first time dinning in. I asked why and was told that I'm paying for the pico (mind you I didn't add any meat because I am a vegetarian). So apparently the "nachos" only consist of the chips and cheese for the price of $11, anything else is $4 extra. It should state chips with queso and not nachos to avoid any further confusion. read more

I have eaten at pie hops 3-4 times over the past year and have concluded a few things. 1) The service is just not good, they have 3 different rooms of seating and it makes it tough for servers to cover it. This past Friday evening, I tried to eat there and it took 15 minutes for the waitress to even bring menus over and then another 10+ to come get our drink order (we left before she came back). 2) The food is really hit or miss, I've had a decent sandwich there and one of worst, undercooked (basically raw) pizzas ever. Like under the toppings it was straight dough. 3) the best thing about pie hops is their beer, wine and cocktail selection. They have like 20 taps and ample cans/ bottles. They are in a great location and have plenty of room, but they are trying to be too many things at once. They need to master pizza making before they can move on to other things, I mean "pie" is in the name. Maybe they will get better, but since they opened, it hasn't been great.
