    I am extremely disappointed with our recent experience at JCPenney Portraits…read more My family and I arrived 8 minutes late for our appointment and were told we had to reschedule due to a late arrival policy that is not stated anywhere on the website or in appointment confirmation emails. What made the situation worse was the way we were treated. When we arrived, the front desk associate did not greet us or speak to us at all--she simply got up and brought another employee over to tell us we had to reschedule. When I calmly asked for an explanation (especially since we've previously had to wait 1-2 hours even with an appointment), the front desk employee began raising her voice and repeatedly told us we needed to cancel or reschedule because they were "fully booked." Another employee stepped in and just repeated the same thing, which felt condescending and made me feel as if I wasn't being listened to or understood. When the front desk employee eventually offered to reschedule and I agreed, I asked what the next available time was. She ignored my question, then asked me what I was going to do. When I repeated myself, she rolled her eyes at me. As we were leaving, she said, "Don't come over here with that attitude." This was completely uncalled for. At no point was I disrespectful--I was simply asking reasonable questions and trying to understand the situation. I understand that the holidays are busy and stressful, but that does not excuse rude, dismissive, and unprofessional behavior toward customers. Policies should be clearly communicated, and customers should always be treated with respect.

The session was rushed and she was just taking pictures without allowing time for the kids to warm up to her or even respond to what she was attempting to do to get them to smile.

    I purchased a Groupon for JCP Portraits for 24 - 5x7 2-sided holiday cards. I called JCP Portraits…read morebefore purchasing the Groupon to see if they had any appointments available before Christmas. They did, the same week. My boyfriend and I arrived on time for our appointment at 6:40 PM. We were informed there were 2 groups ahead of us. There were actually three groups, and only one photographer. Later we found out, they originally didn't have a photographer, and had to call in someone last minute. We waited an hour and a half before being able to even have our photos taken. The lady who took our photos was super nice. I wish I remembered her name, but she was definitely overworked, but one of the sweetest stressed people I know. We then had to wait another 20 minutes for a staff member to work the computer to let us choose our photos. We picked everything out, but couldn't pick up our cards until over a week later. Today, I called twice with no answer and only to leave a voicemail. I left one around 2:00 PM. Still have not received a call back and it is now 8:00 PM. We decided to just stop by to see if they were ready. They were. After looking at them, they put the wrong photo on the back of the holiday card. We then had to wait again in line, for someone who stated they actually don't even work in the Portraits section. We then had to wait again for someone who worked there. Finally the person who actually put together our Holiday photos the day they were taken (cannot remember her name but she had teal/blue hair and a poor attitude. Never smiled) came to the counter. We told her it was the wrong photo and she looked at us like, "what do you want me to do about it?" i asked how long it would take to get our Holiday Cards fixed. She said she couldn't get them in until December 23rd. I asked if she could expedite it, because we have 24 holiday cards all with the wrong photo that SHE put together. She just said no. No offering to refund our money, no offering any other solutions, just no. I was beyond livid by the whole experience, I just said, forget it, and left. The only positive thing I can say about our experience with JCP portraits is that the photographer, who was working on her day off, all by herself, on 12.11.15, was very pleasant and funny, and is the only reason I have something positive to say. But other than that, I will not be returning to JCP Portraits ever. It was poorly managed, and both my boyfriend and I were extremely disappointed in the staff member with the blue hair's(only saying that because i do not know her name) attitude and lack of concern or willingness to find a solution. This Portrait studio is poorly run, has a lack of photographers, and lack of concern for their customers. I love writing good reviews on places I go, but this is my first negative review in which I feel was necessary to write.
