It's a small thing to make eye contact and say "we'll be with you shortly," and it's the difference between a customer who waits patiently and one who walks out feeling disrespected. I can't speak to the food, we never got to try it. We parked on the side between Barnes & Noble and North Italia. As we came through the mall entrance we were surprised to see a Pop Mart pop-up, which was larger than some stores in other malls. The permanent store is still under construction, so we assumed this was a preview for Pop Mart fans like our daughter. We didn't have time to walk the entire mall after dinner, but the parts we did see were redone to be modern and bright with comfortable seating throughout. Many of the stores now have larger floor plans. There are also much more dining and snack options. We hope to see the rest of it the next time we visit our niece.

We went on a Wednesday afternoon and waited about 15 minutes, which I thought was pretty reasonable. Price-wise, I also think this location is fair for what you get, especially by today's standards. There's another location that opened closer to the SGV, but the prices there are noticeably higher for the same dishes. My concern is not only whether the fee is adjusted later, but that I am being presented with and asked to approve a surcharge at the time of checkout when I am using a debit card. This has now happened more than once, and staff have refused to remove the fee before completing the transaction. As a customer, I am not comfortable authorizing a transaction that includes what appears to be an inaccurate surcharge and then relying on a later adjustment on the back end. That process is not transparent and does not make me feel confident as a patron. The California Attorney General's guidance states that merchants may not mislead customers or hide differences between credit, debit, and cash pricing, and debit card surcharges are generally not permitted even when run as credit. I hope this can be corrected at the point of sale so that debit card customers are not presented with this fee moving forward.
