I totally forgot to write my review about this bar and it's probably because I really like the bar so much that I went 3 evenings in a row after work; Thursday 4-16-26, Friday 4-17-26 and Saturday 4-18-26. Located off of Redondo Beach and Normandie. Right behind or next to the Habit burger restaurant you'll discover the hidden gem, Bruddahs Bar and Grill. Each visit was full of great vibes and positive energy. Each visit had a different female bartender working. They all had friendly vibes as well. Each one of them were welcoming, helpful and joyful. Everyone had good energy and it appeared to me they love working there. The service was great and so were the drinks especially for the price. Well drinks $3 during happy hour and $6 when it's not. Glass bottled Modelos were reasonable also. Thursdays visit was cool but Friday was better. Had the pleasure of meeting some regulars who had came in after work. Great vibes and conversations. That Saturday night I picked up one of my homies so we could go shoot pool. It's also an event space so when we got there, there was a bs y shower just ending. So we had to wait a min for them to clear out so we could shoot pool. I even saw one of the regulars from the previous night, Friday. No issue at all especially since I was told that on that Thursday when I first visited. I forgot the bartender told me there was going to be a baby shower. In the meantime, I had a whiskey and Pepsi. That's been my go to every bar visit here. We were eventually able to set up and shoot pool for at least a couple of hours without any interruptions. We had a good time. I had a good time every night. If you like local bars with great vibes and conversations from the bartenders to the regulars, this is your spot. read more

We had a party for my brother at Bruddah's yesterday. Let me tell you, this was the perfect venue for our party. Elsie (the owner) was so easy to work with. She had the tables all set up by the time we got there, even the chafing dishes. The food was ready to go, we had a buffet of rice, Mac salad, Chinese chicken salad, kahlua pork, spam musubi and chicken katsu. Elsie was cool about letting us bring in pancit and lumpia since they didn't offer both. The vibe was very relaxed and casual. First time here. A very outdated establishment with a small bar. I was told by a friend that they have really good a packed tacos 4 for $10. However that wasn't the case. We were told that the tacos are pre-ordered and the salsa and other menu items were made fresh. The shells were dry and hard and the chicken lacked flavor. The bartender was really nice and professional. They don't have the traditional Jose Cuervo margarita mix and the margarita that I had tasted like a lemonade from magic mountain. Drove from SD to attend a gathering for a childhood friend. Located in a shopping center with lots of parking available. The exterior of the bar has picnic benches to hangout on. The inside is clean and the bartenders are nice. The restrooms can get a facelift. The doors don't lock. A lot of tables to enjoy a meal too. Been to this bar couple of times, and the bartenders were pretty amazing! Love the food and the place is pretty chill and divey. They have karaoke every other tuesdays & fridays. First time to be here. I must say the ambiance is ok and there's entaertainment. It's karaoke night. Anybody can sing. I'm entertained by the singers. They're good. I ordered the Bruddah's Daiquiri here and it tastes good not too strong and not to light so it's just right. I wish they serve food at night but anyways you can bring your own food here at the bar and order some drinks. I would recommend to any of my friends & family. Buddha's Loco Moco is always a favorite. Love this place! Since they moved into the bar, it has only gotten better.

I had not visited Bruddahs since they had moved. I remember portions being good enough to fill you up. I was disappointed.

First time here today for a private event. My review is based off my overall experience. The place is a bar scene and if it's not your type of your scene then look else where. The hospitality from LC to the 3 awesome bartenders Lexie, Jonathan & Jessica was off the hook. Overly awesome. So overly great that we requested they be same crew for the next planned event. They are awesome. They will take care of you & your crowd. We confused them for a bit but they made sure we were all happy. I had a feeling after visiting over a dozen Hawaiian / Polynesian restaurants over the year, and probably over 100 throughout several years. Bruddahs bar and Grill hit that #1 spot ! congratulations to Bruddahs bar and Grill as " The best Hawaiian , Polynesian restaurant for the 2018-2019 Best of the Bay. Please take a look at photos for amazing pupus and beverages. I added interior pictures; there are parties, catered events, and outside they have fresh vegan and authentic street tacos you can't beat ! chill During the day time watch a game and enjoy some lights and an amazing menu absolutely great authentic mothers cooking is sheer go try it out. night time music and live comedy , wat!! YELP 100 CHALLENGE 2017: 31/100 I was informed Filipino comedian Rex Navarette was to hold a weekend gig here. Up until that moment, I didn't even notice this place existed! (Okay, I knew it was there. It just didn't look interesting enough for me to check out, so I didn't give it any attention.) So, this review is based on my overall experience considering there was an event going on. It is divey, but it's decent. It looked deceivingly small from the outside because I wondered where all that room came from soon as I walked in. (This with tables set up for the show!) I ordered a couple of times at the bar, and bartenders were aplenty. Although they were busy, it didn't take longer than a minute for me to get tended to. Seemed there were only a couple of servers walking around, but our tables (we occupied two) were served promptly despite the crowd! My group ordered a few buckets of beer as well as appetizers. - POKE: this was on point! Many spots make the easy mistake of under or over seasoning this, but this was pretty good. The crunch from the onions and cabbage was a good touch. The dish came together pretty well. - PULLED (KALUA?) PORK NACHOS : (Or I think that's what it is, it was a little dark.) Now, I'm not really a fan of pulled pork, but this was WOW. Pork was very moist and flavorful. Salt level was just right, it really went well with our drinks. When we got the tab, we were all quite taken aback by how affordable everything was. With service and food as bangin' as they were, I think it's safe to say I will be returning on a regular day to try MANY other things off their menu! read more

For my 50th Review this year, I wanted to share a new/old place. I had been to the tiny old location on Gardena Blvd before. However, this was my first visit to the new, bigger location w/ a bar. Bruddah's is on Redondo Beach Blvd, near Normandie in Gardena. We didn't have plate lunches, just pupus (apps). Our order consisted of tater tot nachos w/ bacon bits ($6), wings ($5/6), and ahi poke ($10). Other pupus on the menu included fried musubi, sliders and fries. To drink, we had Hinano from the birthplace of Polynesian culture, Tahiti ($4.50). If you want a bucket of 6 domestics, its only $12 from 4 pm til 8 pm. I'll start w/ the lowest rated pupu first. You can't drink during Happy Hour in Hawai'i and not eat poke. Unfortunately, Bruddah's version was just OK. There was too much shoyu (soy sauce). Too much shoyu tends to cook the fish, and it doesn't taste as fresh. Also missing was more sesame oil: 3 Stars. Secondarily, the wings were very good. They came out piping out, and had nice heat. The only downside was one of the wings was small (but not as small as the one at previously reviewed The Pan): 4 Stars. Lastly, the tater tots were akamai (genius or smart), The tots were nice & crispy, and stood up well to the cheese sauce. In addition, there was a fair amount of bacon: 5 Stars. The ambiance is sports bar w/ darts as you walk in, a pool table towards the back, and you have to walk up to the bar to get a drink. Dining tables are directly in front of the bar, but no one was eating. However, it was nice they had some Hawaiian reggae in the background: 4 Stars. Mike, the bartender was super cool. He kept the beer coming, and the food came out quickly: 4 Stars. I think I have found my new watering hole by my office. The scene is chill, the beer is cold, and the pupus are cheap. What more could you ask for except chicks? LMAO!!! read more

Mahalo, fried spam masubi! I miss Hawaii! coming into this friendly spot you can't help but smile and enjoy :) the decor is nothing too fancy, kind of like a dive bar feel, but it suits the place. The staff is very friendly, always smiling and genuinely care for their customers. You know the place is alright when a bunch of regulars come in and they know them by name :) My GO TO picks here are definitely the deep fried spam masubi, yes you heard right, so sinfully delicious, if spam masubi itself wasn't already enough right? Oh and let's not forget about how addicting the dipping sauce is that comes with it; I could use that thing on everything, yum!!! And also the Tator tot nachos, so good, just something about the cheese and toppings make it so yummy, I've also had the combo plates, yum! This review is only for the bar & nightlife. Came here twice for my birthday (one time was planned and another was a surprise for my birthday). At the time they had Karaoke! The staff was friendly and accommodating - they let my friends and family surprise me with cake and the entire bar sang Happy Birthday to me! My friends and I had a great time singing, playing darts or pool and hanging out! Drinks were good and decently priced. Yes, the atmosphere may be a bit "divey" but they will sometimes have live music & they have a good sound system with a dance floor. They deserve 3.5 stars. My crew of three came in on a Sunday for dinner about 7 PM. When we walked in there was a baby shower going on so that was a little weird cause we sat right next to them. It was noisy and kids were crying but it's a bar and grill? So that's normal? Idk. A female cleared a table for us and got us menus and waters. I ordered a loco moco which I never had before. Loved it! A burger patty and fried egg on rice with gravy. I would totally make this at home but idk how to make that yummy gravy. They didn't have much craft beer options just the regular budweiser, etc. I also got a Hawaiian iced tea, tasted straight up like a watered down raspberry iced tea. Service: B+ Atmosphere: C (pretty janky) Food: B+ Cleanliness: A Overall I wouldn't mind coming back. I felt like I was in Hawaii, almost everyone there was Hawaiian. My friends like Bruddah and I'd been wanting to try this place for more than 4 years. Finally I got a chance to try the famous Bruddah and I was very disappointed. The place was pretty much empty when we got there. There was only 1 table before us and they were done eating when we got there. We were seated, ordered and waited and waited and waited and waited Another group of probably 6 people came after us and ordered. We were still waiting for our food. I guess I looked pretty grumpy because the nice bartender came and asked if we waited a long time. Pop quiz: how long did it take to cook scrambled egg and cha siu at an empty restaurant? Answer: almost 30 minutes. I almost wanted to go to the kitchen myself to help them out because I was starving. Eggs & things: scrambled egg with cha siu ($6.99): the scrambled egg was good (come one..it's scrambled egg) but the cha siu was terrible. I ate the egg and its Hawaiian bread. I tasted the Portuguese sausage and it was salty and dry. The waitresses were friendly but I was very disappointed with the food. I wanted to love this place. I remember going to the original location as a keiki with my family. I remember trying to squeeze my family into the old storefront location. I remember when the original owners split and we started alternating between Bruddah's and Aloha Cafe to not show favoritism. Slowly over time, we stopped going to Bruddah's. I was excited to try this reinvention of the original restaurant. It was a lazy Saturday afternoon. There were a few people in the bar eating/drinking and only maybe 3 other tables occupied in the restaurant area. The air wasn't on and the front and back doors were wide open. This might be Hawaiian style, but I didn't like the flies buzzing around me while I ate. The table we sat at was sticky/dirty, and the waitress apologized and noted something about the bar crowd from the previous night. There was one waitress hustling to cover all the patrons in the restaurant and bar areas while two other young women were leisurely walking around, laughing and putzing. It would have been nice if one or both of them would have helped out since the service was slow. We tried two of the Saturday specials. The Sweet & Sour Spare Ribs were yummy. It really did bring back memories of the original restaurant, which made me think they are still using some of the original recipes. The sauce was thick and sweet, but I would have loved more chunks of pineapple. It was a generous portion of ribs with two scoops of rice and one scoop mac salad. The fried saimin was just terrible. It was a small and sad looking portion. The saimin was hard and crunchy, which was a terrible disappointment. Maybe it was a good thing that they hardly put any on the plate, since it really wasn't edible. The second plate was the laulau. The laulau portion was smaller than what Aloha Cafe is currently serving (on those lucky days they actually have it - which is almost never). The pork was tender and it had the mandatory piece of butterfish thrown in. The only negative was the taro leaves were salty. Usually laulau is a dish with little seasoning needed, but it seemed like they had a unnecessarily heavy hand just on the greens (the pork was perfect). I always look forward to the tender taro, so it was a huge disappointment that we left most of the taro still on the plate. The sides were generous portions of lomi and chicken long rice. There was a nice ratio of salmon to tomatoes and onions in the lomilomi. The chicken long rice was good, but more ginger (with chunks of actual fresh ginger) would have made the dish just perfect. Despite this being a mediocre review, I will be back. There are a few other dishes I want to try to see if it tastes the same as the old Bruddah's. The true test will be me bringing my mom to see if the oxtail passes her palate. Look for an update review in the future. I hope it gets better. read more

First visit to this new place. Very very disappointed! Waited 25 minutes to get our food! This place was empty as you can see in my pictures. Why was the cook on a break? Having a bad day? I know he wasn't busy. So I'm wondering what took so long. Waitresses were nice though. Waited this long for Kalua, overly salty, Portuguese sausage, dry (Nothing close to G Bowl.). Learned a new lesson... Never go to a place extremely hungry cuz you'll even eat the bad food all up. Now the cha sui was so fatty. I'm sure others may like that but not me. I'm sorry but this used to be my favorite and now I don't think I'll go back for awhile. When Earl owned this place the quality and taste of the food was so much better. Waitresses were kind enough to hear me complain and comped one of the meals. Thank you for that. I hope this new owner will sell this place to people that care about the quality and history this place carries. I miss the good old times and good old flavors. I cannot recommend this place to anyone anymore until the flavors change back. read more

Good for hangout and pound beers or whatever...... kinda dark but lots of parking space. Can not get breakfast or lunch only open in afternoons till last call. Lau Lau was ok but they forgot my kalua pork portion... I called and the said they will owe it to me next time I come in.... just remind them. Mac salad good but they used small kine noodles.....different but still good. Eh! It's ah-ight... We saw that Bruddah's re-opened in new location. We are always down to support da local Hawaiian establishments. We got there around 7:30 pm Friday night, just before da crowd. I had da Beef Kalbi... Definitely Ono! Very tasty! Only complaint is it's not true "Local" servings! More like keiki size, although my daughter ate all hers too & wanted just a bit more. It came with 2 small scoops of rice & a smaller scoop of "broke noodle" (mac) salad, which I think had too much black pepper. Da hubby had da Lau Lau & was disappointed, too, with da "mini" plate size. It didn't come with Lomi Salmon either, had to order it on da side. There seemed to be only one server so by da time Hubby got his Lomi Salmon he'd finished all but da last bite of his Lau Lau! There was a guy walking da floor & stopping by every table to make sure everything was ok, but that wasn't until we were done & had asked for da check. Da atmosphere was chill. Da bar seemed upbeat & fun with lots of TVs. I'll come back again for drinks, not if I'm hungry, though. Plenty other Hawaiian places to go that are just as ono with Local Style helpings. read more

Hmm...ok, comedy night is pretty awesome BUT black people must not come here, I met with a friend and we love racist jokes, black, white, rainbow, whatever...but one guy was a huge racist asshole and the same guy to hackle us right after said shitty thing lmao. So awkwardly ignored him which made everything more awkward.... Has nothing to do with the venue...Bruddahs is run down and unattractive, fell off my broken chair, the stool seat wasn't attached to the stool pero que?! **This review is solely based off of the bar scene and not the restaurant itself. I came to Bruddah's for one of my friends bday. The crowd here is definitely a mix of all races and even ages. The age group was probably 21-65. Yes, I said 65! Just a local bar where anyone and everyone can come to enjoy some good drinks and chill with friends. They had a DJ and a pool table as well. The bartenders here were quick and knew what they were doing. The drinks were average in price. $3-5 for beer, $5-8 for mixed and shots ranged depending on what alch you got. A shot of patron was $9. Overall, Bruddah's is a really chill local spot to drink. I definitely want to come back here to try out the food though since I've heard some good things about it. read more

They must still be adjusting to the bigger venue size and larger customer load because it took about 30-40 minutes to get served (ouchhh). However, they do have six TV sets around the restaurant so we kept ourselves entertained. Location: Good move from their old place and a lot more spaces in the parking lot so you're safe from the street. Ample amount of space inside for dining, drinking and dart throwing... would like to visit at night for drinks.
