On style points alone, Picnic gets 5 stars in my book. The decor is completely cute and there's a rustic-chic appeal to this place. In fact, the façade alone made me want to check out the goings-on inside. There's outdoor seating that's perfectly shielded from the busy rua dos Pinheiros and the indoor area is fairly large (and busy) during lunchtime.
We were lured in by the R$30 buffet being promoted on the sidewalk chalkboard. Before taking a seat, we casually inspected the offerings and found a heavy buffet of salads, cold pastas, hot fried snacks, and another warm food bar that displayed 2 types of rice, a simmering pot of beans, a stew of chicken along with sautéed vegetables and penne in a cream sauce. Everything looked good and fresh so we dove in.
Lunch was awesome and I'm super glad to have discovered this convenient spot within wakling distance of my place. I will return! read more
