They have everything you need - produce is a bit limited but fresh, a housewares section, and even a pretty nice (though small) organic food selection. They also have a recycling return and an area just inside the door with all the community postings on a big bulletin board about events and other info. Nice, helpful and efficient employees. Carts aren't allowed outside but they always have an employee ready to help you out with special loading carts. Prices are steeper than you'll find in Sault Ste. Marie but it's the only full grocery in the area and you're supporting a nice, locally-owned business.

We love getting tapioca pudding there, as well as meats. I most recently visited to get ingredients for a charcuterie board and found everything I needed. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because the produce section could be better and good customer service was lacking.

While they're not a grocery store by any means, it's nice that they have some essentials available for ease of access. I went to the back, where I waited for a moment before being helped by a woman. She let me know all meat is cut same day and gave me an idea of the stores layout with where I could find different meats. They were more expensive than the grocery store, but I've been satisfied with the meat I've tried so far. Spent $22 on two NY Strip Steaks and felt they were really good albeit a bit more expensive! The store may be simple aesthetically, but the staff was helpful (especially Stephanie at the front counter who was particularly friendly). I think I'd make the effort to come back here again after my experience this week and get why the locals love this shop.

Kilwin's is a Michigan staple that I absolutely LOVE! I live closest to both their Ann Arbor and Plymouth locations, which are the ones I frequent the most, but often times they run out of their Mackinac Island Fudge flavor. I was so glad it was in stock on Mackinac Island AND that this Kilwin's was the largest Kilwin's I've been to yet! There are live fudge demos that you can watch, along with their entire "kitchen" area looking like it's out in the open so you can watch the workers hard at work! They have a massive selection of so many different sweets and treats - so many more offerings than I've ever seen at another Kilwin's too! It was a *treat* to see and always a MUST VISIT stop whenever you find yourself on the island! Love you, Kilwin's! :D

So reluctantly,I purchased three giant slices because they had a buy 2 get a 3rd half off deal. The fourth disappointment came when I tasted it, it was so dry that I regretted buying them.
