I told him the spark plug I needed. He knew it was for a lawn mower. He didn't talk down to me or say he'd have to check a conversion table, etc. He just went and got it. I went inside to get a new pulley and was greeted by Bubba. He was amazingly genuine and helpful off the bat. He asked about why i needed the part and then offered to loan me the tool cart to get my pulley changed out right there. I've never done much auto work but i did some YouTubing and between that and Bubbas knowledge of ford trucks, i was able to get it swapped out. Bubba went above and beyond and helped me save time and money. He also helped me learn something new and gain some confidence in my auto repair skills. Let us use their yard to tear down, in the rain. Brought out a rain coat for us. Had the rest of the parts there in less than hr. Thought we were done until in the process of bleeding brakes a brake line blew. We had had enough, so got a motel rm. One employee , with Toyota, drove us to the motel when he got out of work. (Quick note: Yelp says R&R closes at 5 pm, when they actually close at 4. Granted not that big of a…read moredifference but it ended up meaning I inadvertently called them at one point after they'd closed.) I brought my old van in last Monday for a very overdue inspection. R&R was the 6th mechanic I'd tried to get an inspection from over the previous 3 weeks - every other place told me they couldn't do it that day, or I'd need to leave it at least overnight (or three days in one case), their inspector was only there 1 or 2 days a week, and so on. Some of those places I'd tried multiple times without any luck. I'd gotten a recommendation for R&R at the previous place I'd just tried, and was told that it was likely they would take me right in. They did, and though it turned out I needed a new headlight, they ordered the headlight and fit me in first thing on Thursday, the morning after the headlight arrived. Done and done. I figured that whoever got me in for the inspection instead of giving me a list of reasons they couldn't do it would get my business from here on out, and I still feel that way. So 5 stars to R&R.
