Had a friend help me drag it down there with a chain and the guy said go in side for your $100 check .....I said no it is $150 , then he said it is $100 or you can just take it home . read more

hours are terrble, they don't close at six like they say instead they pull some bs and close at 5:30 saying "they need time to kick everyone out." I came earlier and they start screaming at you and kicking you out at 5:35. Extremely lazy workers just wanna leave asap instead of doing the jobs they are paid to do read more

This is for the State Steet, Boise, Idaho site. These guys are awesome. The guys at the counter are really nice guys. I had a tow truck block me in and I couldn't get my truck/trailer parked in one spot so I left it to go pull an engine. They were apologetic when they asked me to move it 3 hours hours later because they were busy, and just nice about it all round. If you treat them well, they will do the same. This is a great place to go, though they always seem to put the car I need at the end of the lot! :) read more

This place was such a surprise. I really did expect much but my husband found what he needed for only $11 when it would have cost $80 brand new elsewhere. Rows and rows off all kinds of cars. I might have to return to hunt for license plates from other states heehee. read more

I've been going to Jalopy for 6+ year but recently my spouse and I had a child so I took a break from going to the junkyard for a while. Well I went to yard last week and was insulted as soon as I walked in, I greeted the man behind the counter with "how's it going" and instead of a friendly response I was asked "how old are you?" Which is hilarious because I'm a 200lb 6'1 23 year old. I asked why it was important and he says "you don't look a day over 16" so I showed him my ID and he says "if you say so" and then lets me in but walks away before I can get a stamp. I go into the yard and pull a drivers side fender off an old Subaru and bring it back to the counter and the price was $52! A brand bew fender is $75 not to mention I've bought this exact fender maybe a year ago for $18 in better condition! One of the employees at another location did inform me that the prices for body pieces have gone up over double in the last year so that's something to keep in mind folks. Called them to get an estimate for a spare tire and wheel. The guy on the phone quoted me $46-$56 dollars. So I went in and searched their tire room, found a tire that would work for me. Went out to the yard and found a wheel I wanted. But it had a junk tire attached to it. So went to the counter and asked the guy about it. He said he would give me the junk tire for free, So I said okay I will take it. He rang it up and said $72. I was like, the guy on the phone Quoted me $46 -$56. He said well that's for car tires your getting a truck tire. I was irritated because, would have been less mad about that if the guy just told me that over the phone. The Guy also told me that when I get it mounted if it doesn't hold air I can return it, get a store credit. So I went to Big-O tire to have the new/used tire mounted to the wheel. They mounted it, but could not get it to hold air. They dunked it in the tank and found a tiny slash near the tire bead. So I had them unmount it so I could take it back to get my refund. Went back today, and tried to return it. went in and talked to the most condescending guy. He kept telling me I was using my words incorrectly. The lies this guy told me. There is a sign on the wall of the tire room door That says no returns on tires. If I actually saw this sign, I would have never bought a tire from the tire room. Next lie. he told me that I was making up what I heard about in store credit, if it doesn't hold air. Well my 18 year old son heard it also, He was with me. After this guy told me absolutely no refund or store credit. I was angry at this point and knocked the tire off the counter. Another guy came out of the back room and false accused me of throwing parts. He said I was no longer welcomed back in the store If I was going to throw parts against the wall. Well I don't care if I ever spend another dime there or waste any of my time in that place again. Second I don't know how this guy saw any of what he made up. when he was in the backroom when it happed. Went home and called them back. I asked nicely for the name and contact information of the manager He told me no. I asked for the name and contact information of His managers boss. He told me he wasn't aloud to give that information up. Then he again kept his condescending attitude and told me I was using words incorrectly. Another lie. In conclusion I wasn't so disappointed in the place. I was getting more and more irritated every time I was lied to. Every time I was being talked to like I was a child. So if you want quality used parts with a side of terrible customer service. This place is for you. read more

Great yard - well organized for the price paid. No, the yard is not pristine concrete and spotless, but the parts I need for my truck are always there. The workers are mostly really nice, with the occasional "meh", but no one is ever rude, and they are happy to help and ask questions. Just don't go looking for parts for a 96 gmc. Customer beware.....I bought a rebuilt battery on 10-31-17 for 52.99 for a car I am selling . The battery had a bad cell and stopped working the second time I started it. I did not keep the receipt because I was selling the car. the battery has Pick-a-part label, they wrote the date it was rebuilt on it, (10-17) and I have the bank statement clearly showing that I bought the battery from them. Despite having a 1 year warrantee they will not replace the bad battery without the receipt. POOR CUSTOMER RELATIONS. BTW I buy several batteries a year and was excited to have a less expensive option. I will not do business with Pick-a-part again. They step over dollars to pick up pennies. read more
