I have a lot of complaints.
First of all, I didn't enjoy the food. I had the bruschetta, which had an overwhelming amount of raw garlic in it, and a basic salad, with almost no tomato or cucumber as promised (though it had PLENTY of green olives, with the pits).
When we asked for tap water, we were told they had no tap water. We instead had to buy a bottle of water. This was not a problem, because we had already expected to pay for water. However, we noticed other tables being served tap water with their drinks. If we had known that we could get tap water with an alcoholic beverage for roughly the same price, we would have chosen to buy a glass of wine as well.
When the time came to pay, we asked to split the check. Our server brought out a credit card machine, but we were told we had to pay as one group. The waiter asked "is that okay?" several times, as if she had given us any other option. What was strange to us was she typed in the amount on the machine, which then charged the card. Why couldn't we have split the check? "I have too many things to do to split the check," we were told.
Lastly, and TAKE HEED WITH THIS, if you are a tourist traveling to Sweden from Denmark. Our waitress told us that if we wanted to pay with DKK (Denmark's cash) we could, because DKK is the same as SEK (Sweden's cash). However, when we looked it up, our meal of 609 SEK was equivalent to ~64 USD... and 609 DKK is equivalent to ~92 USD. That is a SCAM, folks. We nearly paid an extra $30 because of our waitress.
TL;DR: if you are traveling from Denmark with DKK they will try to scam you buy having you pay the check with DKK. Food is mediocre. They will not split checks. They will not serve tap water to you unless an alcoholic beverage is ordered with it. Skip it, unless this sounds appealing to you.
Incredibly disappointed, particularly by the DKK to SEK deal. read more
