I decided very last minute to rent an e-bike while I was in town and I'm so glad I did! The website didn't show any availability but I called anyway and reserved a bike. I was late to my reservation because I forgot sneakers and needed to make a quick purchase. They were very accommodating and adjusted my rental time and fee. Tory was such a help. She directed me to the Bear Creek Greenway and made a recommendation for a restaurant along the trail. I biked from Ashland yo Medford and stopped at the Phoenix Plaza Civic Center for an event and got some wings at the Phoodery. Theres a little bath from The greenway to Clyde's restaurant at Blue Herron Park. Easy access. Super fun day! So glad I rented from them. Great service :) read more

So I wanted to get an ebike rack during the REI Memorial Day Sale but there are a lot of numbers involved (weight, TWC, wheel base, max wt. per bike). I felt overwhelmed. I called the store where my husband got his ebike a few years back to find out how much it weighed, etc. Even though we've moved to Maryland from Ashland, Oregon, and I bought my ebike here in MD, Scott was nice as pie, answering all my questions and recommending the Thule T2 Pro XTR Bike rack, even though I wasn't buying it from his store. He was knowledgeable and kind and thorough. He made my ($850+) purchase of a hitch (and installment) and bike rack easy. Now that I have had both the sales and service experience at Piccadilly, I feel I can give a more thoughtful and thorough review. In summary, I've had nothing but great experience in buying a bicycle and getting the same bicycle serviced here. Whether talking with Gus, Blaine, or Jeff, all of the staff has been patient and thorough in helping me get the right bicycle for my needs, and I've been very happy with the results. I went with a Jamis model which has worked great for getting around town and spending time on the Bear Creek Greenway. When I took in the front tire to see if they could improve the alignment after a crash, they were able to quickly fix it, and on the timeline that they promised. When my bike was ready, they send me a quick text, and I was on my merry way rapidly after pick-up. There's a nice little bike path near the railroad tracks to test out new potential rides as well. That makes it convenient if you're in the market to test out a model. I shopped around, but felt the best overall service and fit was with the guys at Piccadilly. Inconsiderate overpriced they don't know how to repair your bicycle will come home and your bike will be broken within a month

I just wanted to write a review because I'm a local bike shop owner and friendly competitor of Piccadilly. There is unfortunately a person who does not like electric bikes, writing bad reviews for bikes shops that sells them. You can see their review on 7/7/2024 below. If you come across it please ignore it. He has wrote other unkind reviews including one for me. We also have no record of him at our shop and it's clear he has never met the owner as he referred to me as a "he". I was born female and still very much present female - hard to mistake me. I write all this - to say if you come across this negative review. Please disregard it. Gus, Tory and Brendon are all absolutely wonderful humans. They work hard to provide a good service to our community. They do excellent work and they work to support the biking community and the infrastructure we need. Piccadilly Cycles is located in the Railroad District space formally occupied by Davis & Cline, whose owners recently retired. The neighborhood bike path is also located behind the store. It was a bit interesting to walk inside a bike retail space that formally displayed high end glass pieces. The owners have done a nice job re-configuring the property to include sales of traditional and electric bikes and the associated accessories. Service, financing, and delivery options are all available. I liked what I saw, but knowing that Gayle looks dimly at me trying to make significant purchases that avoid California sales tax. :) read more

Brought my bike in to address some creaks and minor things that needed some TLC. Had no problems scheduling an appointment online. Brendon was friendly, helpful, and knowledgable. He wasn't condescending or patronizing when it turned out that my creaking had a really simple (and obvious in hindsight) fix, and he made suggestions for maintenance on a few other things he noticed, but he wasn't pushy about upselling anything. The service was really reasonably priced, and the turnover time was quick! Bringing my bike to Piccadilly was a great experience, and such a refreshing contrast from the treatment I'm used to getting at most bike shops. There are too many shops whose staff behavior makes people feel unwelcome, which can turn people away from getting into cycling. The staff at Piccadilly -- especially Brendon -- are great! I highly recommend this shop. Even though they mostly sell eBikes and cruisers, they are equipped to work on all kinds of bikes. read more

My wife was repeatedly getting flats on her bike. She took it to a number of shops in northern California and none of them could solve the problem. We were riding some of the great trails in Oregon when my wife got another one of her flats and she was ready to pull her hair out. We stopped by Piccadilly Cycles and Gus diagnosed the problem. It turns out she had bad tires. They got us fixed up right away and we haven't had a problem since. They are great bike mechanics. read more

Just purchased a brand spanking new bike from this AMAZING shop! I don't know a lot about bikes so sometimes I get a bit intimidated at bike shops but Gus was super helpful and helped me find exactly what I wanted without trying to sell me the most expensive bike in the shop (in fact, he suggested their cheapest model based on what I told him I wanted!) He let me take it for a spin before buying which was very helpful and nice and then adjusted the handlebars and seat for me and made sure the tires had enough air in them. Would definitely recommend this shop to anyone looking to buy a nice, reliable and economical ride (of course they definitely seem to have a wide selection of much fancier bikes if you're a seasoned biker.) Picadilly not only carries a really nice selection of bikes, both electric and traditional, but the people there are truly nice. We've all had experience with salespeople that we'd like to erase from our brain. That's the thing: at no time did I ever feel like I was dealing with a salesperson. I was interacting with people who really liked bikes, who really enjoyed turning others on to riding, and were just all around knowledgeable, helpful and pleasant. Before I bought my bike, I spent a good deal of time asking questions, test riding different models, and learning. Each person in Picadilly I dealt with, and there were at least four individuals during my days of testing and questions, was eager to help and very patient. So, I had yet another escapade of nearly falling off into traffic because my bike pedal (once again, the whole arm, not just the pedal) was falling off. The same one. Ashland Electric Bikes would have been my first place to go, but they are closed on Mondays. Very inconvenient (what is it about Ashland stores closing on Mondays..? It's really stupid) but it was okay, because I knew of Piccadilly. Looked it up (on Yelp of course) and saw it was open! Went inside and told the guy and he came out and took a look and saw how much it was coming off, and wheeled it in for me. While he was fixing it up, I told him that this happened before. And he said that a bracket might need to be adjusted, or else it would probably keep happening. He also asked about the bike, when I had gotten it and such, and I said it was probably close to a year old but was never used until I got it in January this year. Then he said that the problem was probably that the bike itself wasn't put together properly from day one. Me and my partner (who was with me there) both agreed, because there are a bunch of wobbly parts on that bike (which really make it unsafe) ... Anyway, he said he could do the adjustment for just a $5 labor fee. Took him about 5 minutes to do, and so far, so good! After he did the tightening but before the adjustment, I noticed the pedal still had a slight wobble, like it would start to come off again soon. But after he adjusted the bracket, it felt tight! No wobble at all. I'm pretty confident it won't come off again. But if it does, I'll definitely take it back to have them fix it! (That is if it's within a certain time. They did give me one of those big receipt papers like they do when you take your car in somewhere) So if something goes wrong with it, I'll see if they'll fix it for free. Definitely will recommend this place to anybody looking to get their bike (electric or not) repaired, or are looking to buy! read more

Rode to Ashland with the Cascade Bike Club on a tour. Broke three spokes coming down from Crater Lake. Careful. Bent rear cage as well. Called up Gus who asked me to bring the bike right in. We did. He restrung the back wheel and straightened out the cage and had me back out on the road. I was looking to buy a new rear wheel but Gus made great timely repairs. Thanks Gus. My wife and I were in Ashland on vacation and we brought our cycles along so we could enjoy the Bear Creek Greenway. We were just starting on the trail and my chain broke. Looked up bike shops on google maps and 5 minutes later we were a Piccadilly Cycle. Thirty minutes later we were back on the Greenway for our ride. My husband and I came in here with some questions about a cargo bike for getting around with our kids. Not only were the owners super friendly and helpful, but one of them actually got out a stash of toys and played on the floor with our toddlers while the other talked through the various options with us. This was by far the nicest experience I've had in a bike store (and having lived in Portland, OR I've been to a lot of bike stores).
