Plenty of stuff in this shop and a surprising number of employees. No handguns. One old iMac.

I love pawn shops for the great merchandise and great prices. The fact that many, like the National…read morePawn and Jewelry group of shops in our area, have excellent customer service and store management skills. This is my favorite of the National Pawn-named shops, but live a bit too far from them to just pop in. I really love the small sister store on Durham-Chapel Hill Blvd in Durham; it's called "Friendly Pawn" and it certainly is. I write rave reviews about them because they are special! Today's review is about the exemplary customer service provided by this National Pawn on Roxboro Street as they helped my "regular" pawn shop find a laptop for me! The team there, was so responsive and helpful to talk through the specs on every laptop they suddenly had in stock. It's just too far for me to pop over in the middle of a work day, so I really appreciated the "virtual" experience! Ultimately, I didn't buy a laptop there, but the shopping experience was great just the same. I'm sure to stop by to see them sometime just to admire all that bling they sell. Their showroom is visually appealing, sparkly, clean, and pleasant. If you're looking for beautiful jewelry, good quality modern electronics, small appliances... all at good prices, I recommend you go to visit them for a nice shopping experience.

The hispanic women told the Hispanic coworker who told me they don't want to give me customer service. They are thieves, they are dishonest and they will steal your merchandise what belongs to you! Believe me when I tell you the Hispanics on North roxboro Street think they own the place. When I get on a crunch I take my business elsewhere. Maybe I should call channel 5, channel 11, channel 22, channel 17 and give you all some attention.

They looked at all of the diamonds and tested them in front of me and they were all real. Not lab created, but all natural diamonds. This location obviously does not have the right equipment.

If I needed money to eat before starving to death, I would'nt go to this pawn shop…read more My sister and I spent 2 hours with them one Friday having firearms that we wanted to sell evaluated for an offer. We wanted $3500.00 for the lot of guns. After researching all of the guns, the fellow (who was very nice) helping us was at $3350.00. He told me on my 2 most expensive guns he could go up a $100 on each and he did. We finally got to the $3500.00 mark. We needed to take the guns back and go over it with a relative who was still interested in one of the guns. We were told by the fellow helping us and 2 other individuals in the store that we could bring them back that the offer would still stand. After clearing the offer with our relative, I went back yesterday morning. I was treated with a different and horrible experience! There were a few different employees there and 2 of the same I saw the other day. They knew who I was because they knew what guns I had, this had apparently been discussed. I told them I brought the guns back and I had an offer of $3500.00. The manager type gut told me that I never had an offer and that they had only gotten up to $2500.00. After back and forth and even being lied to by the employees that told me to bring them back I left. The fellow who had helped us all that time the first day was apparently upstairs and couldn't come down. They treated me like I was an idiot and knew nothing about what we worked on and discussed. Because I was a woman? Who knows? They are liars and have a bad business. I think they are out to scam you and take advantage of people. So glad I took them to a real gun shop and got way more then what I was asking for. Stay away from this place. If you want to hock your 1989 VHS player, go for it but keep your expectations very low.
