How to care for and train it, and how to play it. I went from shower singing to singing in public, performing in public within a year and my confidence and my ability grew along with my repertoire. He is a past master at analysis of strengths and weaknesses, reenforcing the former and transforming the latter. Whether you want to sing in public, need help in finding your voice in business meetings or just want to have fun, Robert is for you, the thinking person's singing teacher.

RHR studios posts regular open meetups (although you have to join their meet up group and register for the event). Roberts meetup takes place at martuni's bar. It's essentially an extension of the school there. So I registered and signed up for The meet up. When I arrived at the location of the meet up, Martuni's staff tried to prevent me from going in there. I explained that I signed up for the meet up and had to show them that there was in fact meet up there which the staff at tried to deny that there was. I was aggressively Felt up by that Martuni's staff member. I can't blame Robert for that. But after I said "please stop touching me," she became agitated, denied that she had touched me, and asked me to leave. So I left. Robert, instead of apologizing and offering to make it up to me, banned me from the meet up group. So that's how he runs his business. The title of her studio caught my attention and I took the information home. I didn't act on it for quite a while, but the day I made the call and heard her warm and reassuring voice my piano playing has headed straight for the stratosphere. It didn't happen over night but the constant attention to detail and the magic that great teachers have continued to thrust my musicality further than I thought possible. Yulia Lipmanovich has made that possible(I hope I spelled her name correctly) and I have had many piano teachers. It is not every day that you come across a person who've studied with the great Rosina Lhevinne. If anyone wants to improve their skills as a concert pianist, you have to come and study with Dr. Yulia. I am a concert pianist myself and I have been a student of hers since August of 2017 and I can see a huge difference in my playing today and before meeting Dr. Yulia. The best way to describe her teaching style is that she is just like her teacher Rosina Lhevinne - she's passionate, patient, goal-driven, and cares about her students by giving them every advantage to be better. The environment feels as if it is a family because she treats everyone like a family. If you are serious and truly passionate in your piano studies and want to know the true artistry of piano, you should come and study with Dr. Yulia Lipmanovich.

They use the "Music…read moreTogether" curriculum, which is both musically sophisticated (in terms of building blocks for future understanding of complex music) and fun to listen to (for both kids and adults). Also crucially, the teachers -- and of course especially Marsha -- are just wizards with kids, able to draw them in and get them into the music wherever they are. If you live in Hyde Park and have a baby or toddler, why aren't you in Marsha's Music?

Our son is now 2.5-years-old, and might just be a budding musician thanks to his experience with Marsha's Music. Initially, it was nice to just get out of the house on the weekend (even in the middle of Chicago winters), be silly and ridiculous with other young families (and caregivers and grandparents), as well as gain some knowledge about how to incorporate music at home and on-the-go (the Music Together CDs are permanent staples in our car that's old enough to have a 6-disc CD player). Now that we've moved away and there's a pandemic that's made everything virtual for the foreseeable future, we STILL get to stay connected to our community - something that's made all of our transitions a bit more doable. Our son LOVES Marsha, and I'm pretty sure he thinks of her on level with his own grandparents (especially since they also now live in the small box that is FaceTime). He's become absolutely addicted to the songs, and has begun to make them his own as he sings them loudly, repeatedly, with instruments (namely percussion), and with his own flourish. Our only wish is that we could do it all in-person again soon. Still, Marsha and team have been remarkable in their adaptability, resilience, and ingenuity in keeping the virtual sessions fresh, engaging, and fun. It's worth doing virtually...and now you can be anywhere in the country too - how accessible!
