A few weeks into lessons, Marcella recommended my daughter sign up for the recital. On the day of the recital our family was shocked at the progress made - she received a standing ovation! She's patient, engaging and has built up my daughter's confidence, all while teaching technique, developing vocal skills. The front desk at PMA are also incredibly helpful and easy to contact, whether by phone, text or email. I appreciate how easy it is to book makeup lessons and change schedules online. My daughter also enjoys seeing Marcella's feedback and thoughtful comments posted after each lesson.

We wrote a bad review here on yelp, so the business reached out to us and asked how they can help. They initially offered to re-take the class, but I did not want to waste my time. So i asked for a refund. They agreed. What I am realizing now, since I have not seen any credits on my account, is that the refund will only be given in exchange of the review being taken down. It's too bad, any business owner who thinks about future and about customer service would have refunded the charge immediately just because they know they screwed up. The many interruptions my kids had during their private lesson was reason enough for them to issue a refund. Very disappointed!

I've had a great experience learning about music through Evie Huang Music Studio…read more I had quite a bit of experience playing violin as a child, and now as an adult, I wanted to learn some piano with Evie. I currently go to their studio once a week for lessons. Listening for the right pitch and music theory has always been harder for me, but Evie and her husband Matt are some of the best teachers in the area. They actually not only teach high-level piano and violin, but Evie specializes in double bass and Matt in trumpet. Both at the professional orchestra symphony level. Evie's super knowledgeable, patient but firm, and you can tell she has a lot of experience and a passion for the art. I feel what makes her special is she has a great pace when demonstrating things, and it's in a very concise and deliberate manner. Matt has a wealth of experience and has taught me a lot about music theory. He's very intuitive and smart. I think he's extremely attuned and aware of what students need and when they aren't understanding something. And like Evie, he's able to break things down, but in a detailed fashion. They host a large recital (mainly for their younger students). Some of them are really good. They also have a great Instagram for tips and tricks that I find very helpful: https://www.instagram.com/eviehuangmusicstudio?igsh=OGQ5ZDc2ODk2ZA%3D%3D Highly recommend Evie Huang Music Studio!

On top of that, when I asked for XLR cables or music stands, I got a side eye and attitude.
