Ben is himself an incredible guitarist with wide and deep knowledge on a huge number of genres and styles. I have yet to ask a question that he can't answer in is usual thoughtful, clear, and complete way. In the last year, I've gone from knowing absolutely no music theory to being able to competently read and discuss chord construction, progressions, and more -- my theory knowledge is beyond even my wife's, a violist of two decades. My skills have improved immeasurably, too. Once trapped only playing power chords, my barre chords are second-nature and I've even mastered seventh and ninth chords. Every time I want to try something harder, Ben knows just the right way to get me there. Musical knowledge isn't enough if it can't be explained, however, and Ben is really good at breaking complex and confusing topics down into something easy to understand. He doesn't believe in just memorizing fingerings or shapes -- he helps you learn why something works the way it does. Nothing feels rote, and mastering something feels earned.

We ignored this. After set up, he finally started playing and singing music. I told John up front we had lots of song requests and people that would want to sing. Nick did not have or know a lot of them. It was my party so I was singing and having a good time. People farthest from the set up could not hear anyone singing besides Nick and his guitar. He took many breaks and was served drinks. We were all a bit befuddled by the whole thing. Not professional. Was asked if his Dad could do magic at the party, I declined this but after he got here he still asked again and then asked about doing balloon animals for the kids. Out of kindness I said okay but was not going to pay him. JUST very awkward. I am very disappointed in the company along with the amount of CASH I paid up front.
