I thought it was turning into an ear infection or sinus infection so I had to find an urgent care ASAP since it happened to be January 2nd and everything was closed in observance of New Year's Day. I called to confirm this place was an urgent care and that they were open. The woman was polite on the phone and told me they were open and they weren't busy at all at the moment. So I zipped over and she was right, no one was in the waiting room. Just me myself and I. They work on a walk-in basis FYI. I was seen within 2-3 minutes of checking in. The doctor came to my exam room within a couple minutes of my vitals and info being taken. Dr. Hornung was who saw me and he was professional and nice. I was in and out of here in 20 minutes but they didn't rush me at all. It was spectacular service for someone who had no energy from being sick. This place is located at the corner of Eola/New York St. They are right next to Paulie's Bar & Grill and there is a subway right there too. The whole office and waiting area was super clean and tidy. This rating is in response only to the lab services. In the past year, I have shown up for lab…read morework, only to be turned away because the lab was not staffed. If you are going to have a lab, it should be staffed or have published hours when it is going to be staffed. The office response was to go to another location, which was out to Oswego, and very inconvenient for a working person. Today's visit was an insult; an at home lab test was ordered for me, which I picked up the supplies last week. When I returned my test today (urine to analyze for kidney stones), I was told the lab gave me the incorrect supplies and I had to do it over again, but they did not have the supplies, and I would have to go up to a lab in Downers Grove to pick up what I needed. Not only is this inconvenient, but now it is more expensive as I have already met my yearly deductible. Here it is December 30, and there is no way I can get it done before the end of the day tomorrow. There definitely needs to be some changes for the lab for services and communications at this location.
