Water filter itself produces good water. Installation was the problem. They flooded my basement. Never even got a call from anyone to apologize for destroying my basement. Kids summer affected by this $6k install. If I were the business owner myself, I would have the decency to atleast apologize for a faulty install. 4 months later getting the run around from insurance. Argh let's see how it goes read more

I had contracted Phountain Water to install a whole house water filtration system. I had their salesperson over to show him my finished basement and what was involved and was told no problem. As it turns out there was a problem, and I was told it could not be installed it this location in the house. I took the workers to another room located by the water main and was told they could install it there. I needed time to move a bolted in workbench and they said no problem. They wanted to take the water tank back and I said no. I have a signed contract plus they were coming back to install the system. They left the tank. Two days later, another "plumber" their top plumber (I was told by the owner) to come and what I thought to install the system. As we are descending the basement stairs the plumber said that he was here to collect the tank, and the boss does not want to do the job. I told him I have a signed contract plus deposit and the tank will not be removed from my house. I was told by the plumber that he was instructed to call the police. I told him to get out of my house and do what he has to do. His boss shows up a few minutes later and said he wants his tank, and I said I want the contract for filled. I get a speech on how he served in the US military and how he was an honorable guy. What this has to do with a filtration install, I have no idea. He said he would call the cops, and I told him to do what he has to do. The cops showed up, first one that had a major attitude and then a second who was quite professional. I took the professional officer into my house and told the one with the arrogant attitude to get off my property. I showed the cops where it was to be installed, and he talked to me calming me down. I allowed the boss to retrieve my tank. As it so happens, I located another company explained everything to them, insisted his installers come over to see the job for themselves before giving me a price. I am getting the same equipment plus a water softener for $1,300.00 less installed. Oh, by the way, as the head plumber was loading my tank into his truck, he was making hand jesters telling me either I was a jerk off or to go and jerk off. Okay this is one place I am extremely happy exists. I came here a few years back when Phountain was a baby. I sat down and was given a free short education on anything and everything about the food and water we invest as Americans. With all the toxins and chemicals in each water district you tend to turn a blind eye to these things, especially in Long Island. If you would've asked me two years ago I would've given this place five stars. However over time the small-town and very personable feel of this place has become very corporate. Frequent customers used to get great deals on water cards and other items. Now unless you opt in for their $50 per month membership there are absolutely no deals or perks to be offered. They nickel and dime you for everything where it used to be you felt there was more of a genuine desire to assist you with becoming more healthy and it happened to just be a business. Definitely has become disappointing over time with the new format. Patrick and Sue are the exceptions who still make it feel like the old Phountain when they are working. They are super friendly, informative and a pleasure to be around. read more

This is my very first YELP review because I feel compelled to do it!. I have been using Phountain Water for a few years now. I am not a health fanatic. I do not use the other services, but feel healthy water is so important. A water bottle in a plastic container has been probably in sitting in some warehouse with hot temperatures and carcinogens contaminating what we believe is clean. Every person I've encountered in the Massapequa Park store was beyond helpful, super friendly and very knowledgeable. After a few years, I grew frustrated with having to lug glass bottles back and forth especially in the winter! If I couldn't get a good parking spot by the store, it would deter me to get my water. I am not a spontaneous person, but I made a very spontaneous decision. I believe in this water, so I purchase a Phountain Home Water Filtration system for my home. Friends were discouraging me telling me to just buy a cheap under the sink filtration or a Brita Filter and save my money. Buying Phountain System was one of the best investments I have made in my home. I have it for only 3 weeks now, but I cannot get over what a difference I has made in my life. I no longer have to run downstairs and get my water from refrigerator. Every faucet in my home has their water. My showers have been an unbelievable experience. I've been going to Phountain locations for the past year and I've been to almost every store to date at some point or another but I'd consider myself a regular at the Massapequa store. Every store is beautifully set up. The environments and decor of the stores are very relaxing and attractive. It's very much a spa experience. I'd like to say I'm a well rounded Phountain customer in that I utilize ALL of the services and I get my alkaline water from them every week. The initial demo you recieve as a first time customer was an eye opener for me. I must say, I'm always on the skeptical side of new things, but giving this place a chance was the best decision I've made for myself and my family. I have never had a complaint about any of the staff. They are welcoming, friendly, willing to help with anything they can, caring, honest, and educated. They truly make you feel like you're part of the family. The demonstration the staff gives you when you're a new customer is wonderful and filled with useful information that will stay with you forever..it's really what made me realize this place is like no other. Now, getting to the alkaline water...amazing! my family and I were drinking bottled water on a daily basis, not realizing the poor quality of what we were consuming until we switched to the alkaline water. Within days of switching I noticed a difference. First of all, my children were actually drinking more water and I wasn't forcing it on them...miracle! I've suffered from acid reflux for years now and have always relied on medication to subside my symptoms..so happy to say that I never have to take anything for this again because the water completely eliminates my symptoms.
