I've been into Phoumala T several times but my visit to the salon on Tuesday afternoon got me the worst haircut I have ever gotten in my life. I had recently bleached my hair and just needed a routine trim job to get rid of the damaged ends. While Staci got rid of the damaged ends she did so in a way that I imagine a toddler with a pair of scissors would...my bangs were uneven, cut blunt, and she just completely missed several areas of my bangs leaving me with a couple places where my hair was up to an inch longer than the rest. I left the salon unaware of these problems since we both decided that there was no point to fully blow drying my hair and damaging it more with heat. Boy was I surprised when I went to fix my hair for work!
I went back into Phoumala T first thing on Thursday morning since I had no time on Wednesday to do so. I didn't go in demanding a refund of the $25.00 the cut cost me on Tuesday which I feel as an unhappy customer was beyond generous. I explained to the stylist (not sure of her name) at the front desk what had happened and that I needed to get this fixed ASAP! Never thinking that I needed to stipulate that I wanted it fixed free of charge, how silly of me. It took the stylist about five to ten minutes to fix what Staci had done. Afterwards she asked if I would be paying with cash or a card, confused I asked if she really expected me to pay $10.00 for a screw up that another stylist at the salon did. The answer was yes because she didn't do it and they all work independently. Apparently if I wanted it done free of charge I would've had to have Staci do it, not sure why I would want to give the stylist who messed it up in the first place another whack at my hair. At this point I was beyond fed up, I work in customer service and I have to take the heat for things I haven't personally messed up all the time. It's part of working for a company! I don't tell angry customers that I can't fix their problems because I didn't do it or charge them more money to fix the problem. Angrily I gave her my card to pay only to find out that her phone wasn't working so she couldn't use her square device. At this point the other stylist at the counter told her to just get the $10.00 from Staci and told me to leave the salon. I never received any sort of apology for them screwing up my hair in the first place; definitely will never return to this salon again or recommend it to anyone I know. read more
