I've been in Photo World in Sudbury a few times now, and will never return. Each time, I'm treated condescendingly, and every response I get from the staff is not only unhelpful, but also derogatory and counterproductive. They seem to function in a way that "The customer is NEVER right".
I normally just look the other way from these events, but am repulsed by the lack of customer satisfaction at this store.
Now here's the kicker: I've spoken about this with half a dozen friends, and they've all had some very memorable experiences. Here are a few direct quotes from different friends, and i'm sure if i were to dig, i'd find more:
- "My friend is new to Canada, and they were VERY rude to her!"
- "that's why I stopped going there"
- "I'll never go in there again... The son was nice, the dad was the worst person I think I've ever met in my life."
- "Yup... I've experienced this lots. The only saving grace is the young brunette... the rest seem so morose. Won't go back."
To be fair, one of them said: "They've been great to us every time... think it depends on if you get the son or the father." But, I don't think any business working on a "1 out of 5 ain't bad" system could strive.
Either way, they seem to treat their customers poorly, and the more I mention it to friends, the more I hear horror stories.
A couple of facts:
-You're not allowed to send them tiffs or similar big images, their system "can't handle them".
-Your photos have to be on a USB stick (not on a card). Otherwise they get mad at you.
-You can't email them photos.
-You can't send them a link to the photos (otherwise, they charge you for the time it takes them to download the file.)
-They'd first ask you to leave the store and come back with the proper formatting before they bend ANY of their rules.
-Go in prepared to argue, because that's all they seem to do. read more
