A Small restaurant in Kingsford near the uni. With a trendy interior (unlike most places in the area) and serving Vietnamese cuisine; which fills a hole, as there are not many Vietnamese restaurants in the area. There is a range of meals to choose from on the menu including rice paper rolls, make it yourself rolls, stir fries, Bao and soup options including Pho. They also have tea, coffee and desserts. We spoke to the owner who was nice and friendly, he informed us they will look at doing Vietnamese inspired breakfast too. we ordered pork belly Bao. We love these things, they have great texture and taste. A soft bun with a nice piece of pork belly, some crisp fresh and pickled veg.
We Both ordered soup, which were reasonably priced and were generously portioned.
My wife ordered the egg noodle soup with crispy chicken. The broth had a nice chicken flavour plenty of noodles, bok choy, cauliflower and herbs. The juicy crispy skin chicken was served on the side, yep the skin was crispy.
I ordered the dac biet(house special) pho.The Pho included beef ball(Viet meat balls), beef brisket and raw beef as the protein element. The flavoursome, well balanced beef broth was cooked for 12 hours and was filled with delicate rice noodles. On the side there was the fresh mint, bean sprouts and lemon, as well as hoisin and chilli sauce to add to your liking. Again a generous portion with great flavour, a decent Pho.
