Out $200 and still have a cracked screen after multiple visits. I brought my Sony Xperia Z5 in with a shattered screen. They quoted $200, which I accepted. A week goes by after I dropped my phone off and I still had not heard back, so I call. They say sorry that I didn't receive a call or email since it has been ready for a few days, I didn't mind. I noticed the screen colour was a bit off compared to the original, but I was happy that the screen was fixed. That night I noticed light was coming out of both sides of my screen in the dark. So I brought it back to get re-sealed and clamped. Again, I didn't receive confirmation when it was completed, and had to call to confirm. I noticed the new screen would not turn on during a call, and I couldn't use the dial-pad or speakers. I took it back and they said Sony uses two different colours of screen, a reddish-brown and a blue, they installed the incorrect colour and reordered a blue screen. He said it should take about a week. I call after a week since, again, I hadn't received confirmation that my phone was completed. The person who answered the phone asks "Are you sure we have it?" while rustling trying to look for my phone. I say "I sure hope you do" questioning his lack of customer service skills. He asks if he can call back once he looks around for my phone. He calls back after an hour and says it's ready to be picked up and the screen is working properly during a call. I pick it up and it seems great. That afternoon everything worked fine. I left for work, put my phone in the phone compartment in my purse, went into the elevator and got in my car in the parkade. I took my phone out and noticed a new crack and the touch screen does not work. I call back and let him know the new screen cracked with hardly any impact, just being placed into my purse. I wondered if there was a weakness with the install or if the new screen was a dud. He calls back with a quote of $130 to replace this new screen that they just installed. I said there's no way I'm paying an additional $130 after paying them $200 originally. He says Sony phones have the worst screens and he doesn't doubt that this happened. I say, well then you shouldn't bother accepting the repair job if you know something like this will happen. After arguing and getting nowhere, I say thanks for nothing and hang up. My main point is - if I took my car in to get a part fixed, then the part broke right away after picking my car up, I know a car mechanic would fix the new part for free, that's a given anywhere you go and that's respectful customer service. I am now going to be purchasing my own parts online and installing this with the help of my brother who is an electrician. Thanks for nothing Phone Freaks, so unprofessional and weak customer service skills, I would never recommend this place to anyone. read more

As soon as I walked in the store the person behind the counter right off the bat was rude! "What can I do?" in an uber rude voice. I brought my phone in with no explanation of what I thought was wrong with it, "it's slow and was not working properly" I said, hence the reason I'm bringing the phone in! He looked at me and said...." Well I can't tell you what's wrong with it and I can't tell you how long it's gonna take". Very very snappy. I almost couldn't believe I was being talked to like this. I said first of all I didn't ask how long it would take, and judging by your tone your not a confident person and said, "I'll take my business else where". Low and behold I was able to fix my phone myself after watching a few you-tube videos, in less than 2hours. Bottom line: this business is a joke. Bunch of idiots. read more

Just amazing. I came to Phone Freaks after having received quotes of 4 weeks' wait (to order the part and labour to fix it) and way more than seemed normal to charge from 4 other companies to replace the shattered screen on my LG phone. Phone Freaks took my phone in on a Tuesday and had it back to me by Friday, having been happy to set me up with a loaner phone over the few days so I at least had a working phone in the meantime. The cost came in almost $100 less than what most other places had quoted me for. I couldn't be happier with my experience with Phone Freaks. Very quick and very efficient! read more

Just went into Phonefreaks to get my phone unlocked. As soon as we walked in the door the customer service agent was surly, arrogant and unhelpful. When I asked him to clarify a statement he'd just made he was rude and patronizing, simply repeating what he'd said with an attitude of "how can you not understand what I just said, are you an idiot?" Suffice it to say I took my phone off him and walked out. I wanted to pay to have my phone unlocked, not for his baggage and attitude. Worst customer service ever experienced. I wish I could give them zero stars. read more

Did not have the equipment to fix my phone was missing the home button and battery they were going to change my iPhone from black to white but they didn't have a white button plus they could not replace the battery because they didn't have one in stock I called four other stores who all had one in stock read more

I had an issue with my tablet. The guy behind the counter took a good part of an hour working on it. Between him and another guy, they had it up and running and guess what.....at not charge!! They may not be overly friendly, they got the job done so I'm okay with that. Thanks guys. read more

I brought my labtop in in early June for service as I use it for my school work. I stated I need Word and have my disks. The guy spoke to me about upgrades and the new technology and talked me out of using my disks. I have a 2007 vista. To my surprise word pad was only on... I discovered this in late December and called in mid January to find out what happened. He got defensive and said "I'm not dealing with this" and hung up on me. I paid nearly $200 back in June. I left a message with their head office in mid January and nobody called me back. I called today and spoke with a lady at their head office and she was also rude and said I can see why he hung up on you... She hid behind warranty and didn't even apologize. This issue has cause a large amount of issues as they let me down with my computer repair. I am a student. They don't listen to the consumer. They have very poor customer services skills. read more

If you need basic screen replacement, sure, they are probably fine, it's an easy enough job, but if you need actual diagnosis and repairs, I would avoid, very nice to deal with, friendly but not worth the three days it took for them to tell me less info than what I told them when I dropped it off.

I will never go anywhere else for my cell phone repair needs. I had some issues with the battery on my phone after replacing it at another cell phone repair shop. I was always a little but suspicious about the service at the other place because it seemed like they were hiding something and I had to go back twice after having it replaced to have it replaced again. Phone Freaks tech Josh did all the work right there in front of me. He powered the phone off a battery emulating power supply to make sure it was still functioning okay. Then he replaced the battery and it powered on right away no problem. Then, to make sure he had covered all the bases, he changed the charge port temporarily just to make sure that mine was not causing any issues. After all was said and done and he had spent a good hour diagnosing and testing the phone, he encouraged me to use it for a couple hours, come back or call him to let him know if everything seemed okay. I did exactly that. Three and a half hours later my battery was better than it's been in two years and I called him back to let him know. It was only then that he informed me that he was a little suspicious that the battery that had been installed in my phone was a old or used battery. He was very professional and encouraged me to give the other shop the benefit of the doubt. He mentioned that batteries can be difficult to diagnose and it is entirely possible (however unlikely) that they happened to install two faulty batteries in my phone back to back. It doesn't matter. I will never be going anywhere else again anyway. Thank you Josh and Curtis. Oh, and that absolutely lovely receptionist. read more

These guys are the real deal, as good as it gets cell phone repair. I think some of the reviews they have gotten are from people who don't take into account that when you talk to these guys, you're not talking to some know nothing sales man. You're talking to the actual tech. The person who's going to fix your phone. No bs. No fluff. The real deal. I have worked in the computer and electronic business for years and talking to these guys was like talking to the same blue collar fellas I worked with. They explained in precise and understandable terms exactly why my phone was malfunctioning and they gave me options. If you want a pat on the back and a hug while a customer service rep talks complete bs to your face, this ain't the place. But, if you want no nonsense, get yer phone fixed right, and now, look no farther. read more

Phonefreaks service is amazing. I dropped my phone off at another service centre because they refused to give me a quote over the phone. They told me it would be a week wait because they didn't have the parts in stock. More than two weeks later I went to pick my phone up and it still wasn't ready. On the advice of another upset customer who was also there demanding his phone back, I called Phonefreaks. They gave me a quote right over the phone that was less than half the price I was about to pay, I drove over and was out the door with my phone repaired in an hour. Don't even waste your time. I have a Sony xperia z3. My screen had shattered and i brought it to phone freaks for repairs. It took 5 times for them to repair it due to faulty screens from Sony. Unfortunately you don't find out there is a defect in the screen until it's installed and you've played around with it for a while. My warranty covered each replacement and each time they were incredibly helpful and polite. Not once did they seem frustrated with me (the phone maybe). I'd recommend them to repair any phone as they take the time to make sure the repair is perfect. Definitely a good investment. Thank you! read more

I brought my phone in on a Saturday afternoon and received an email later the same day to let me know it was ready for pick up. What I thought was going to be an issue with my charging jack turned out to be a quick, contact cleaning, so quick they didn't charge me and sent me on my way. They could of easily replaced some parts and charged me but tried this first. If I have any other phone issues I'll be back. read more
