It's not the most modern or the by new today standards cleaner. But it has the classic look I grew up with. The staff was nice and helpful. I met the owner before I he left for the night. I thought he was friendly and knowledgeable. The main reason I rated this so high was because of the back issues. There is a large amount of back issues and priced very well. I was able to find books that are hard to find except on the internet. If you are looking for a book that is hard to find try here first.

We looked in all the different sections and the kids picked out some Pokémon cards while some of my family got some magic cards. There was a great selection of items and the staff was very nice. I thought it was a good value because the kids were able to just pick some specific Pokémon cards they wanted versus buying packs. That was super helpful to us! The box was SO carefully packed - every figure's box was individually wrapped w/ bubble wrap and masking tape, and in perfect condition. This was the first time I'd ever heard of Infinity Flux, and I was super impressed with how they got 4 figures packed, shipped, and delivered within 3 days, all during a holiday week. We were in town for a concert and to meet up with some friends and it happened to be "Free Comic Book Day" and we had time to kill, so we stopped at some local shops including the Deep at their new location. They had all the goodies for giveaways-- who can beat 3 free comics plus another 5 freebies if you make a purchase? The companies (Marvel, DC, and the indies) made a good show of rolling out freebies to give readers a sample of current offerings and hopefully they roped in some new readers. It was nice to see The Deep still has a swath of back issues, I was able to cross several titles off my never-ending search list as I poked around the store. They still have a wall of new releases, a ton of games and figures, etc. It was also very cool to see such a wide diversity of readership, people of all ages and backgrounds grabbing up new releases and picking up pull lists. Not sure if ownership has changed in the past decade or more or if it's more to do with the changing vibes of the subculture itself becoming more mainstream and accessible, but it just felt overall more "welcoming" and open than ever before so that anyone can find the book they're looking for and get into comics. Very cool. Plenty of parking. Appreciated the additional 20% off of purchases for the comic book day, and back issue prices are fair--more expensive than some, far cheaper than others.

Aaron and the artists do amazing work. The shop is clean, the work areas are private, and the vibe is always right. They have some amazing comics and books. Large selection of latest release comics were on display and were easy to browse. Sorted by brand (Marvel, DC and Independent). The center of the store is full of graphic novels, the back edges and display case (at counter where you pay) is full of back issues dating back to Golden Age. Didn't investigate pricing too much, but on the surface it felt like they had reasonable pricing. Staff was friendly and interacted well with the customers. This is kind of out of the way for where I typically am, I would for sure pop back in if I was in the area.
